  1. BBJ is saying Saw has gone down in his estimations as The Smiler shows what can be done with the same ride type, I think. Stealth is the most fun coaster on the park for me, I don't think I'd ever get bored of that launch.
  2. Looks pretty good. I was talking to somes staff up there about why they got rid of the 'High Roller' coaster that used to snake around the top of Stratosphere and he said they were still bitter about it. Quite a lot of the preliminary work was actually carried out to instal that top to bottom, including High Roller removal and strengthening of the structure, before the plug got pulled.

    Youtube Videos

Uurgh, why the hell do people want to watch that bunch of useless nobodys? They were in a bar I was in last night, filming and generally being douchebags. Was Aussie themed walkabout on Embankment which makes sense seeing that trailer. We considered starting a fight with them just to get on the tele (stupid drunken stuff, violence not condoned), but fortunately thought better of it.

Russell Brand taking apart some horrible vacuous news anchors. http://youtu.be/ADJhErmJuoQ Love him.
  5. I can echo Benins wish of Tokyo Disney being miles ahead of anything else on my list. More realistically the rest would be 2 - Europa 3 - Phantasialand 4 - Efteling 5 - Dollywood 6 - Cedar Point 7 - Oakwood Would also love to return to Port Aventura as I last went just before Baco opened, and Florida which has changed a load in the 7 years since I last went.

  7. When I read the title I was expecting to read the smiler had died in some spectacular way! Nemesis. Not done the smiler yet but pretty sure I don't need to to know I will still prefer Nemesis. We'll see.

    Slammer

I have never tasted Slammer, but I imagine it has a zesty tang of originality with a slightly bitter aftertaste of failure?
  9. Can depend on things like general development orders, where projects of a certain size in a certain location do not need individual permissions. Not sure if Drayton are covered by any of these, but it would be unlikely to cover something of a size that we'd consider a major ride anyway, and Drayton do have noise pollution issues they would need to cover, so we should see plans if a worthwhile coaster is coming.

    The News

OK then. Would you trust this alien as your counselor?
  11. Rather good looking trains I think. I imagine the jets will light up as it launches, nice touch.
  12. Would be all kinds of awesome if this year we got a ghost train, made of an actual train in the shape of CCR and some actors. In an adult style of the old Black Spot maybe? Get some good scares and interaction that way.
  13. That sounds amazing tbh.
  14. I do not understand how the change from individually fitted seat belts to a solid all the way across lap bar resting on the fattest persons stomach has resulted in the height restriction lowering?
  15. ...or a new ride, which is my bet. If the extent of the damage is as described that is.
  16. Me too Coaster Jamie, and all the time it happens I will have difficulty believing those who say it is absolutely not done to sell fastrack. I can't sit here and say that that is why they do it and I really really hope it isn't, but they are really putting themselves in a position to be accused of of it while this keeps happening
  17. Boneshaker was a mondial, 1001 nights was Huss magic carpet. EDIT: Damn, yeah, what Tommy said. Boneshaker was significantly different to Windshear in that it did not invert, it felt like being on a boat in rough seas and was really quite tame if a bit nauseating.
  18. Haha, no problem! I'm looking this stuff up anyway, so I might as well share it, nice to know someone actually reads it! I just find it interesting too. I don't like that it happens but I like to know why it has when it has, that is the bit it is hardest to get info on a lot of the time though. The Ramesis incident yesterday reminded me of a (Fabri) Topspin accident in 2000 where the gondola snapped off and fell into the queue line(!) which I looked up again and found an interesting article on the cause. As usual a major factor seems to have been poor maintenance that should happen to check for fatigue but didn't. At least with Chessington it seems all safety systems held up avoiding injury, I do wonder if that is partially luck though; if it had jammed in the same immovable way but upside down things could have been worse.
  19. Stupid people make me smile. Someone must have some pics of the damage? It is not really possible to hide that ride!

    This Or That

Rare. Tastes best while it's still mooing. OTSR or lap bars?
  21. I like that they do them and I really do hope they are a success with the people that they are for. But they are not for me. I like a quiet theme park but these events will create crowds, it's as simple as that for me so I'm out.
  22. Is it wrong to find this hilarious? If the report is correct and they have literally cut people out of it I'd say that is the death of this ride. If so I hope Chessington see the value in the type and replace it with the same.
