I quite like Danny Bakers sweary rant We were awful and deserved to lose. On the plus side my work can get back to normal instead of having a town full of drunks on random weeknights.
  3. When it wan't ready to be used at all then that was understandable that it wasn't open, but now it is a number of weeks since people have been riding I'm finding it increasingly odd that it hasn't opened.
  4. Financially it was, even if much of that was not on the presentation. It has an entirely new shooting system and every scene has been amended. I'd call that quite major. Either way, spending any amount of money to make something worse cannot be right. Why spend to save the building if what's in the building is crap?

I thought it was to prevent any possibility of stacking outside the station; since The Smiler incident people have been nervy of sitting stationary on the tracks and do stupid things like getting out expecting the next train to come smashing into the back of them. Because destroying the throughput is better than putting up some signs or making announcements. I may be wrong though and it's something else.
  6. I've not ridden the new Blaster, but this facebook post from Chessinton Buzz a week or so ago says it all.. How is it possible, just a few months after major referb, that the thing is in the worst state it's ever been? It's actually an achievement to be that incompetent really.

Shame, the state it seems to be in now. With the ride reliability being so poor it makes planning a trip impossible, and is it's in the arse of nowhere so planning is pretty essential for everyone that's a real problem.
  8. Fish isn't in the least bit painful. It's a rattly old kiddie coaster like all the others that doesn't go fast enough to exert forces that could amount to pain. Considering what the likes of Colossus and Saw can do to you on an off day this Fish comment is quite bizarre, and frankly not very helpful to a first time visitor.
  9. If you're going on the Saturday it'll be quite busy, so be prepared for longer waits. The best (free) way around this is to make sure you are there well in time for opening as it takes the first hour or so for the queues to build, be one of the first in and hit a couple of coasters immediately. My advice would be Colossus, then Saw, then Inferno. To do this walk straight through the dome, out the doors at the back, turn left and walk straight ahead. Leave any messing about in shops or taking in the view until later! You'll go passed a sign with queue times on straight ahead, if it says these coasters are closed then just head towards something that's open instead! Veer towards the left of the X pyramid and you'll find yourself walking under Colossus cobra roll, the entrance is on the right at the 'back' of the ride. When you exit turn right and Saw is on your left. When you exit turn left and follow the path round to the right and Inferno will be on your left. Don't be destracted by the flats which should keep shorter queues throughout the day. With a bit of luck you'll have three major coasters done in the first hour or so and then relax and do what you fancy. As the park is physically small try and hit things with smaller queues as they occur, using the queue times website. Unfortunately the queue times are notoriously inaccurate, but do provide a rough guide. Stealth maintains it's long queue all day, you'll just have to wait or fastrack it. If it shuts and you get lucky noticing it opens get there before the queue builds back up. Swarms queue generally reduces in the afternoon, so leave that till later. X gets a disproportionately long queue, don't expect a major ride in there, but your mum should enjoy it. Don't waste your time on Storm Surge, do the other water rides if you have to choose for time. Save her standing on her own your mum can queue with you and just not ride when she gers to the front, crossing straight to the exit. There aren't so many smaller rides for your Mum, if she's feeling brave get her on Inferno, Swarm and Stealth as they are pretty smooth, she should probably avoid Saw and Colossus which are a bit rougher. Have a great day!
  10. Where you sit does make a huge difference, it seems to have been getting more noticeable for a few years. It's like the train is coupled loosely so the seats shuffle back and forth between themselves rather than moving round as one unit. Odd sensation and not very comfortable.
  11. That appears to be transfer track to me; looks like stoppers on the end.
  12. It would be an understandable injury from one of the seats which appears to have hit the floor side on.
  13. Actually, every pic I've seen so far suggests the train has managed to hit the floor upsidedown or sideways, which would probably be more survivable and less likely to involve limb loss. Also I've not seen any blood or mention of that sort of injury from witnesses. The biggest concern would be any little kid on those bikes underneath being crushed.
  14. Wow. Praying there's not, but it's hard to imagine there's not facilitates in that. Got to presume that it is an assembly failure of some sort; if the track had broken leaving a gap surely there'd be photos readily available. It would be a pretty obvious gap in the tracks which would not be able to be concealed by the park like most of the train is, and someone would have photographed it by now. Also, it seems the ride would have been in motion because it has fallen away from the track itself. The train appears to have held together on the ground so I wouldn't expect there to be a wider debris spread. Wasn't the park just clinging on as it was? If so I doubt it'll ever open its doors again.
  15. Because if you look at it now and at the same time on monday @ChessingtonSam it might give you an idea! Earlier this week was quite busy, but all coasters under an hour, 30-50 min average.
  16. All a bit of bluster to try and get the useless local council to do something about traffic in the town, which really is bad. They're not daft, they won't be cutting off their nose.
  17. They have worked in recent times, but for a good while they were worlds most expensive birds nests. I expect them to be rigged up with springwatch cameras next year.
  18. I don't remember the old rid being as long, but then I barely remember it at all to be honest. Has this been extended, or is it pure refit? Think it looks pretty sweet tbh, nicely done.
  19. Is there a version of this available in English?
  20. Some people don't need to take part in this thread for us to know the answer...

It will exceed those expectations, whatever they are. I'll hold out 'till the new ride. If it's a firechaser-a-like I'll be well happy, that thing looks so much fun.
  22. There have been a couple of deleted posts linking to information and pics about DBGT which should not yet be released, given by someone who has ridden it . As all riders so far have signed non-disclosure agreements this is clearly not right and not what the park intends from these previews, the links have therefore been deleted. Please no more linking to it from here. Thanks!
  23. Or... there are hundreds of articles about this on BBC alone, thousands across all media of varying validity, and you have chosen just this one and for some reason declared it the best they have to offer. There is a hell of of very good, balanced, in depth reporting on the subject on the BBC especially. And while celebrity endorsements should clearly not really be used to make such a big decision, if this sort of thing gets some people interested on the subject that otherwise were not then surely that is a good thing?
  24. Three weeks today I will be in Europa, and will finally be able to change that signature. Can't wait!

After vowing I'd never return because it was awful thanks to horrific operations on a crazy busy day, I think I might have to go back to Astrix. Probably worth it for Oz'Iris alone, stunning ride. And I loved that ugly out of place tat! Can't beat a good Polyp.
