    Paultons Park

Than wild Asia? Yes, absolutely. Than Swarm area? More complete maybe, if less grand. Although it's impossible to tell from a couple of photos really. From what we've seen already I'm excited to see it person soon.
  2. Is this actually confirmed? I know it's what we expect but I can't remember if it's fact. Saw remains quite a big connection.
  3. This is one classy week.
  4. I think it's very narrow minded to just think that VR and AR have no place in theme parks full stop. There is clear potential in the area for great things, something different to what is out there now. There's similar negativity about screen based dark rides over physical sets and effects, and there are awful examples of screen technology being used really badly, but when it's used in the right way Spiderman happens and I'd think even the greatest screen haters can't fail to be impressed by that ride! Whether the conversion of existing rides like this is the way to go I'm not so sure, I'd imagine things that are designed with the technology in mind will be a lot more successful. I'd hate to see it just slapped across everything though.
  5. Adore the Air track. Would be great if elements of it are encorperated into the new score.
  6. TPC: Thay are just awful, Isn't that enough? Small print. This is the opinion of me as me, not as Mod, or any sort of representative of TPM. This is not the view of TPM. DBGT: although the cattle pens were on the plans there were also rumours of this being an entirely R&R affair, which would have negated the need for them and would have bben a very small deviation from/amendment to the plans. So a shame to see them, and indicates R&R will not be in use after all.
  7. I'm sure they don't close things for fun. I'm equally sure they didn't just realise that all these rides were not going to be ready on the day, but would have known a goid few in advance. Would be nice to tell people so they can make an informed decision if they still want to visit, rather than just letting them turn up and pissing them off.

    Hex

Not VR, but AR. (Is that the correct terminology? Augmented Reality. I've not got much idea about these things! Rather than a mask replacing your vision it includes what you are really looking at real time and then adds to it.) If that's the case then DBGT is the test, not Galactica. I can see that having a lot of potential on Hex, especially in the Octagon which is slightly lacking in effects and always will be what with it being a real old protected building.
  9. I have a feeling I'd pass out through that tunnel on my back. In a good way!
  10. That's not really the aim of mass marketing though, is it?
  11. I think there's too much of a problem locally with 'nusance youths' who would hang around intimidating everyone and changing that atmosphere of the place. This keeps them out.
  12. Dislike. Devils Creek has been roughly similar to what it is now since I was a toddler, and it's great. It's already fun and popular. So why?
  13. Schedule on post 1 Next up, toofpikk...
  14. This has died since facebook has stopped us nicking their pics! Anyone got any idea of a way round it?
  15. That's still temporary though. Why would they need planning to have it for a few weeks at the start of the season but not for a few weeks at the end of a season? Makes no sense.
  16. I wonder if they'll take the opportunity to install those 'between row' bag holds seen elsewhere, which rotate to protect your belongings while you ride? Would save them a fortune. The Swarms biggest problem is painfully slow one train operation, and that seems to be as a result of the bag room staffing costs
  17. Really aggravates me these horizontal plane self spinning things being described as 4D coasters. They are just not. Even though I know that term is technically meaningless anyway, but whatever. No.
  18. Standard attractions should of course be free, including free from fastrack sanctioned queue-jumping. But something that is clearly beyond the every day, something that offers an experience that is in some way exceptional and can only be achieved by being time and labour intensive, then that is clearly acceptable to be a paid extra. Not to do that stifles their own potential. I suppose the key to it is this; if the paid extra can turn a profit of its own accord (from design and build all the way through to operation) then there is no issue, but if a paid for attraction is effectively subsidised by those paying their general admission then getting nothing for it, then that's an issue. It's just the same as things like Mos nights; that they exist is of no consequence to people who don't pay extra to go, as the ticket sales pay for its running cost. We don't say they shouldn't run those because it is in some way unfair on those only staying for the day?
  19. This has to be just about the most negative response to something from planning I've seen. I'm struggling to think of anything to counter the points made. Has it been confirmed it's planning to actually be there year round, or is it a presumption? Would they need planning for something that is to be seasonal but regularly in situ temporarily in certain circumstances? If it is permanent I'd expect it to be a peak time paid for attraction. Like IaC should be.
  20. Personally it would be a great help if they were posted way in advance so I could get the time off work, it's often too late for me by the time the date is decided on. I know I'm in the minority with my shift work, but that's my reason.
  21. If anything of any note was happening planning would be in. Disappointment incoming...
  22. ...and surely a hypercoaster is a no go due to the proximity to a major airport? Thorpes length 'limitations' are self imposed, but I'm sure their height ones come from elsewhere and are not up for negotiation. And wood anyway.
