Put it this way, you might have to queue a little longer for your ride because these inconsiderate people are jumping in front with their fancy yellow bands. It might ultimately affect your day with queue times and you have one bad day. Difference being, you DONT know what disability someone has and just because it's not visible doesn't reduce the severity of it. So, think about whilst you might have one bad day at Thorpe park because the queues are long, there's a 10 year old girl going through disabled access with anxiety who might not ever overcome the illness. The time spent at hospital appointments, being assessed, ensuring she's taking her medication at the right time, may always need someone with her, may not ever reach a point of independence etc should be a justified reason to why they're entitled to that ride pass.

That is actually really sad that they felt that way - they obviously needed the exit pass but sadly some people in society are damned ignorant and only think people who are wheelchair bound are disabled. With some illnesses they can vary - I have anxiety problems and have done for the past 16 years. I don't get ride access passes (don't even know if I would qualify for one tbh) but at its worse I am housebound. On a good day I can go out taking just a low dose of anti anxiety meds and sometimes none at all. As for queuing - I am usually ok but with anxiety you can get a panic attack out of the blue - a couple of times I've had to leave queues because of it. So people can look perfectly healthy but you never know what issues they are battling.
At TP on Wednesday I (and I resent this) bought fast track for Saw - main reason was that we were leaving at 3pm and my niece was desperate to get back on it and also because I don't think I would have coped well with the 70 min queue - one if the main reasons I only got on 7 rides that day

A carer along with other carers and a boy with MS once told me they used the main queue because they couldn't stand the judgemental faces from people when they got on via the exit.

They couldn't afford the electrical bill - subsequently, Rita is also now being cut given it is the ride that costs them the most to run

Till 2018 when they start making a profit again and can justify the running of Rita.

Ooo err what is this new fangled electricity you speak of. It's crazy that Alton are investing so much in electricity which is unproven. It would be far better to stick to steam until electricity has proven itself.

One thing I find interesting about your views is this...

So you spent a long time before the stated release time refreshing the page, trying to get tickets. What would have happened if you were one of the people who got the 12p tickets before they sold out?  Would you be complaining then?  I doubt it.  And what would you be saying if they released them at 10am dead, and you had missed out on a ticket simply by being a bit too slow / unlucky?  Would you be complaining then?  Maybe, but there's nothing you could do really.

With such a limited number of tickets, they were of course going to sell out ridiculously quickly.  And many people were going to miss out.  And many people were going to be disappointed.  This whole thing was to get publicity, and it's done that.

Why?  They were under no obligation to do this in the first place.  Offering more tickets at 12p means that people will miss out again and get all the more angry over it.

Simply put, no one is any more deserving or entitled to the tickets than anyone else.  It's disappointing that this mistake happened, and Thorpe should try their best to make sure that this sort of mistake doesn't happen again.
