    Legoland

As far as I'm aware, there are no restrictions when it comes to age groups at the park. I've been there many times with people over the the 16 age group (whilst none are within that bracket) and I've been able to get in to the park hassle free. It's not like Gullivers which is very difficult to visit without children and if you they are a little OTT about it (so I've heard)
  2. I'm getting the impression this Pop badge thing is a merlin equivalent toDisney's pin trading Still a fun concept so don't see a problem with it
  3. I wouldn't hold your breath on that one, last year it cost me £9 for two small bottles of Magners and discount wasn't available. Does anyone know if tickets are on sale for this event yet?
  4. TBH I think the wooden coaster here is the only major draw to this park (aside from the fairly decent Pleasure Wood Hills & Joyland (with the last Virginia well, snail thing & WGH coaster) within very close distance. It's a place I really want to go, but aside from the woodie, it would be just for creds.
  5. It was 3 weeks ago today that I started my voyage to the most happiest place in Europe (although it may actually be second after Europa), Disneyland Paris. Doing a weekend trip at Towers in a few weeks plus My first ever lift hill walk then too (I'll let you guess which ride ) which I'm excited about. Aside from numerous thorpe trips and another Lego & chessington trip, should hopefully be making it back to Oakwood in August (on the condition potential 'family holiday' plans don't tangle things). Really tempted to do Efteling this year, but don't want to face it alone (Baron ) I also wanna do dreamland too (Unofficial meet anyone?)
  6. Well it marginally better than that other metal coaster thing they have, but it's no Octonauts. Wasn't the thing they removed some kind of car ride themed around Dellboy or something?
  7. Colossus has been cursed with one train operations since the beginning of time, The day thorpe put it on two all the day will be amazing!
  8. Don't forget Tidal Wave's fire ball, Is Slammer going and CCr returning
  9. If Colossus receives it's (forever long speculated) repaint, I will let the park off everything negative thing they've done this season apart from Slammer

    Scarefest

Whilst I am yet to properly experience a Scarefest myself, from what I've heard about the last few years (which generally sound like it was getting repetitive and going down hill), a new maze sounds a very welcomed and much needed addition and it's good to see there will be some big enhancements to the existing ones.
  11. Well it's no Baron1898 on appearance, however we will have to see if they can make this beast look more appearance friendly in 2016.

    The Simpsons

I couldn't find a topic anywhere for this surprisingly, so I decided to make one. The Simpsons is a long established cartoon television show that's been around now for over 25 years and in its time has been very popular. However today, one of the show's long running voice actors Harry Shearer has apparently decided to quit the show, following some disputes including wanting to do other work. Some of you may not know who he is, but has voiced a big chunk of some of the show's primary & secondary characters including Mr a Burns, Smithers, Principle Skinner, Kent Brockman, Ned Flanders & Reverend love joy. Source-BBC news If he's gone for good that's potentially a big chunk of characters that will disappear from the show and would need a big chunk of new faces to fill in that giant gap. Could this be the beginning of the end for the Simpsons?
  13. Staines don't sound a bad idea, but I do like Harvester very much (can't go wrong with the salad bar & lemon blizzard to finish)
  14. Most cheeky abandons experience for me was probably the first Nandos I had back in 2012 (yeah was a bit of a late starter I think) when I had one in my local Nandos in Watford with college mates and there was loads of chat and everything p,U.S. Some of us decided to put the very spicy sauce on our meals, one even nearly snorted it up his nose. Haven't been Nandos since Tpm Christmas, so probs due another visit soon.
  15. I'm Looking forward to this meet, plus the new additions in Heartlake City should have also opened by then too. Does anyone know what the plans for what's happening get for the meal afterwards?
  16. Out of interest, what's the easiest/cheapest way to get to Efteling and what hotel is best to stay in? Would 2 days cover the park?
  17. A big Happy Birthday to TPM's wonderful cheese loving meet organiser Peaj
  18. What a loverly video, Absolutely can't wait until this park reopens, this all sounds very exciting stuff and for me at the moment is probably the most exciting thing happening in the UK theme park industry (prior to thorpe' dark ride & SW8). Definitely hope to get down there this year at somepoint
  19. Having recently been myself, I should hopefully answer your questions. 1/ A Disney annual pass is something I would strongly recommend buying. The fantasy is the one you should buy which costs €179 (less if anyone in your party is an existing pass holder) and if you're doing more than 2 days I would suggest getting this. Another reason being you get 10% discount I shops and restaurants plus you get magic hours in the main park from 8 which to avoid queues and get rides done in fantasy and discovery land is recommended. 2/ I haven't been to Asterix yet so cant say, but I think there's a way by getting a train to Paris then getting the metro system but I'm unsure I'm afraid. 3/ As long as you get the fantasy pass you should be ok, I bought mine on the day when I went and didn't have any problems. 4/ Once again I haven't done Asterix, but as long as it's not heaving there you should definitely get the main stuff done such as Oziris, Tonne De Zeus, Goudrix and a few others, 5/ Ok here's a few tips Try do crush in the morning If it's busy you get fast passes for big thunder and Indiana Jones (they're free) Get Ratatouille fast pass at the start or do it towards the end of the day Food wise, Planet Hollywood is decent and Earl Of Sandwich is great value for something easy Must do rides/ Disneyland Park: Big Thunder Mountain, Soace Mountain (if open), Star Tours, Buzz Lightyear, Phantom Manor, Disney Dreams closing show Studios: Ratatouille, Tower Of Terror, Crush, Rock N Roller Coaster Hope I helped you a bit

    Glitz and Glamour

Europa Park looks amazing, how would you compare with Disneyland Paris? Yeah despite the major refurbishments in the main park, I thought there was a lot of life and atmosphere there. Small World is apparently the next major refurb after SM and then Big Thunder after Christmas for a year
  21. Whilst I have strong intentions of going here(amongst others (you've probably seen)) and can do plane & trains and book stuff, It's not quite as easy for me currently due to home folks not condoning travelling on my own most of the time.I am gradually getting these parks done one by one. This year saw a major milestone reached (you know the one) and should things go my way next year, it will be an exciting year (and I don't mean Thorpe's new ride). If I had the powers to simply just book a weekend trip like that ( without personal constraints) I would've definitely done a good chunk of Europe parks in the last couple years.
  22. The Dome will never leave, it's the park's centrepiece in many ways (after the rides) and is equivalent to something like the towers and sleeping beauty castle (but not quite as picturesque). With budgetiory reasons on top of this, I doubt the dome's going anywhere, unless it gets to a state of disrepair merlin won't invest in. Back on track, the changes made to fins look great and really add character to the place. Whilst it's not quite a patch on Disney, his shows that Merlin can do theming.
