  1. I'm surprised it seemed like the scaffolding went up and down so quickly, was getting worried it wasn't going to be open for the rest of the season... We know what Merlin are like with permanent scaffolding, cough Rita haha!
  2. It's on the eventbrite ticket page saying containment won't be available on the preview night. I swear I read somewhere else about big top not being available til 8pm, although that was a while ago, and I'd imaging you'd be lucky if it's open at all tonight.
  3. it does seem like something that could realistically happen... and for that reason I'm dreading it even more haha, why did I book it for!
  4. same line. same post. same whatever... I knew what I meant
  5. Although it looked visually great, it looked far too intense for me like the fairground ones where I just get my legs permanently flinging out to the side and it's just damn right uncomfortable! I actually enjoyed it at thorpe the last few years on a good setting where it moves considerably slower than in that video; although some of the poorer settings are just too boring, so I do partially understand everyones hate for it!
  6. They can't even get the lights and mist to work properly on a normal day on many occasions... so the effort of changing the colour of lights is clearly not worth it for them, don't get your hopes up
  7. 'The Smiler' and 'Smashing' in the same sentence... that best not be intentional
  8. Well if I'm going to be disappointed id rather know right from the start... Otherwise the hype building that Merlin do is great!
  9. Where the hell is the scarezone in forbidden valley going... and any construction updates!!?
  10. well the description of containment is about the spreading of a virus, and will you make your way to the antidote and out the maze alive... so medical stuff would seem logical for the last room aha
  11. It didn't work first time for me, but I thought stuff it and kept trying earlier and it worked
  12. Please be aware, Air will be closed tomorrow until 2pm Just spotted this on the Alton Towers Website..
  13. they need carnival lights all around the park... pretty simple but very effective with the theme they're going for!
  14. will be heading there this weekend for both days, and hopefully next sunday... can't wait for some more night rides!
  15. the pictures look great! I am gutted I haven't been able to make a trip here this year..
  16. so Project 2017 doesn't appear to be happening now according to RideRater, and that while no year is set, it's likely to be for 2018 for their next big project.
  17. Jealous! it is my favourite fairground ride!
  18. While maelstrom is far superior... I still enjoy vortex and gutted that it looks like it might be closed for the rest of the season
  19. Cut myself several times on waterslides... And twisted my ankle once tripping over a kerb... But luckily have never had anything serious, surprising considering how clumsy I am, and the fact I Ski, Snowboard, Mountain Bike etc. Aha!
  20. I do hope it lasts quite a while... I for some reason prefer the scare attractions that are broken up into sections like Carnival of Screams rather than a flowing one. And it was quite unexpected to see different tents and no clear connection between them, people were thinking it was part of the queue line etc.
  21. Chessington put an image of a Lorikeet on Instagram... Sorry if I haven't been keeping up with the topic but I thought te lorikeet area was closed down?
  22. It was at the Bristol Balloon Fiesta, price peaked at like £8 and the queue on both sides of the ride was full... So £8 for a short ride cycle just a little ridiculous! It was better in the day when they charged like £4 and had a good few minutes
  23. It's my favourite flat ride... The travelling one is probably called AIR, it seems to pop up everywhere, and they do seem to charge extortionate prices at peak times unfortunately, it is worth it either way, but if you can go on it when it's quiet, you get such a longer cycle. The feeling of facing to the floor while falling down at speed is incredible, such a disorientating (but not sickly) ride! Thorpe replace Samurai with one please!
  24. The thing is it's a bold statement to say just enthusiasts don't like it... My dad went on me, he doesn't hate rides and probably only goes on because I like them so much but because of heart problems can't do loads in a day otherwise it messes him up (saw and the swarm seem to be the worst rides for him aha), but yeah he thought the Big one was a pile of s*** (in fact that was his words about most of Blackpool and the pleasure beach - besides te sandcastle waterpark and Merlin attractions, whoops aha), it's great to see other people enjoying it, but honestly for a big ride, the tallest in UK, there's no thrill factor or even enjoyment at all after the first drop which is a shame as I do want to like it, I'm not slating it just for the sake of it.
  25. I was on holiday so haven't been keeping up to date on the topics, sorry But basically that info on the website is spoon feeding you the whole layout aha!
