  1. The Tavern really is a great piece. It's so authentic and with a facade could escape as a century bar. The theming inside is so intricate and detailed, and the atmosphere was equally well done. I much prefer this then a big, full of toot shop! (although, there is a little shop at the end where you can buy pencils, key chains and lollies and whatnot)
  2. On another note, here's some renders of how the rides will incorporate (to be honest it's not amazing in how well they interact, but it's a feat in itself for being able to fit another coaster in underneath this giant bundle of knots) So it's again a slightly altered layout (it seems, so far, no 2 boomerangs of this kind have been exactly the same) but this one appears closer to Paulton's one then Ben 10. The reverses will be in a new tower building above the old outside turn of river quest. I NEEEED IT NOOOOWW
  3. It's a valid point raised, but when rides are constructed the final piece is chosen from normally a variety of concepts. It's quite possible, if the original concept and this one had a similar footprint/ride structure etc. that they have gained more money since then and are able to go back and redo the ride in a better manner.
  4. I agree. The logo is still the same, just the polish and shine of it has been removed, and it's moved to a more 'matte' looking logo. Personally I prefer it, it looks more professional in my opinion and less cheesy. PS they wouldn't have changed the logo at all if they had budget cuts. PPS I realise this post is littered with unintentional puns.
  5. I don't know. I know a couple of dutch people who live in the local area who have said there's NO chance that it'll be a spinner, however it wouldn't surprise me if it had a double catwalk and was a spinner as the things are a pain to evacuate with just one...
  6. Banned for being discriminative and not taking me to nando's yet
  7. But without those expansions we have had this beauty! And, it sort of forces them to do all this insanely high and superb theming.
  8. There's no denying the locations were fantastic, just the atmosphere of the people I went with was very uncomfortable and put a dampener on the experience. I never visited Rome on this trip haha, but I'd sure love to aswell.
  9. I got back from a trip to Italy ab out 3 weeks ago. Personally, I think the trip could've been better. This was down to several reasons; 1. The people on it were eh 2. The people running it were rubbish 3. We were 20 minutes from Cinecitta world at one point AND WE DIDNT VIST WHY buuuut it's sop picturesque I can't really complain too much Anyway, here's a little collection of pictures and talk through my 5 day trip to Naples and Sorrento and Capri (no sun). Day 1. So we spent most of the day travelling but when we arrived in the evening a group of us (there were 40 people on this trip) decided to have a quick look round Sorrento's centre. There really isn't very much, but you get some nice views and architecture here and there. (this was also a brilliant opportunity for me to get used to my new camera and see what it's like in the dark. The whole trip was basically a chance for me to play with it, as I was given the title 'officially official photographer of the trip guy') You see right across the bay to Naples. Bare in mind it was very very dark, I couldn't even make out Vesuvius with my naked eye, so I sort of jumped when I saw the photo because it was like a ghost mountain. Day 2. Spent most of the day on the Amalfi coast, which is so stereotypiucally Italian you wouldn't believe it. god h8s u lol One thing very visible in Italy is the amount of stray pet animals you see. There were wild hot dog dogs. It was absolutely terrifying. favorite shop of the whole trip tbh One of the Michelangelo's crypt churches. It's pretty cool but unfortunately my lens was too small to take a picture of the entire structure so I had to take the photo through my friends phone XD Day 3. So today we visited Pompeii and Vesuvius. Again my camera's lens wasn't wide enough to take any good photos at the crater of Vesuvius, but yeah the Pompeii photos are alright. It's not very clear from the pictures but it's mentally windy up at the top. It's a weird sensation, your head is absolutely freezing from the wind yet your feet are quite warm from the rocks. There were some pretty fun rock formations at the top to take arty pictures with. Played around with the shadows and focus a lot up here; this one is probably my favourite. After our traditional at every foreign country we go to we have to get a McDonald's at least once meal, we continued into Pompeii, where you're immediately greeted by a bunch of rock people who were caught in the blast, giving you a '15 minutes into Pompeii and chill and he give u dis look' glare. The ruins were pretty cool to run around. I could see a themed area looking amazing with something like this at a big park like Universal, or maybe even Towers? A couple cool facts: Pompeii was purposefully built in the shape of a fish, for strategic reasons. Whilst a lot of it is uncovered, archaeologists still reckon about 1/4 of it is under dirt, however after recent excurvations costed so much and actually caused damage to a lot of the artifacts, the excavations have stopped and the site is now being preserved. Also, the roman building technique of this entire city has a particular name which meant 'whatever' or, 'random', but I can't remember the name of the technique in Italian. But it's the reason for some of the structural collapses, and the reason why any of the buildings are prone to just falling over if they decide to. day 4 We spent the whole day at the island of Capri. Really beautiful place, clearly the inspiration for some of the scenes in How to train your dragon. probably my favourite picture of the trip. I borrowed someone else's lens for this, and oh my it's just so picturesque and look how blue the water is and the rocks are all so cute I want to hug them clear httyd resemblance and from above (with someone elses lens again) 18 people were sick on the boat trip around the island of Capri. I'm proud to say I was not, one of those 18. Stray dogs everywhere! Italy just does have the greatest ice cream. Day 5. The last day on our trip we were given 6 hours of free time to do whatever. Unfortunately from our hotel the nearest theme park was a 2 hour drive away and no one else wanted to give it a go. I didn't take any pictures that day because I wasn't expecting to go anywhere particularly picturesque, but anyway, here's a couple from the evening pizza making thingy we did. After pizza we did some bowling. I broke my all time high score of 27 and got 72! Only those who went to Guildford know how much of an achievement that is for me. Aaaaand then we congo lined all the way home. Oh yes, and kinder bars. I lived off them for the week. You can buy pakcs of 48 for €7 so I was like buying 200 a day. They are great. Just yum. Sorry for long non rolly toasty post, here's an Italian potato.
  10. Just going to throw it out there and stress that to suggest someone is too inexperienced to operate a ride is fairly ludicrous. As Benin said, training on rides is a fairly lengthy process and involves a lot of overseeing, shadowing, theory and practise before you're even allowed to independently touch the controls. Even then, if you're not comfortable you're allowed as much time as you need/want to get comfortable with a ride before being tested as a position on the ride... Even then if your tester doesn't feel you've got the grips well enough you'll be asked to re train, and once you do pass you're checked upon regularly to make sure you know what you're doing and you're happy doing it. Being inexperienced is pretty much out of the question, as well as the fact as normally operators don't even have access to over-riding equipment (as already said).
  11. Different types of footers continue to be placed around RQ and Taron. a couple around the site that could be for the other coaster? The Admin posting on that site suggested a tunnel for the queueline for Taron, but also, here's a nifty fact; the reason for all the tall rocks is to block out a lot of the noise for the neighbouring village.
  12. It's probably something to do with copyright and names. The same as galaxy chocolate over here is called dove, over in the USA. Or Lynx deodorant here, compared to AXE in the US. It confuses me they can't use the same name for anything, but then again maybe one is held over here and the other is held by another company in the USA, so they can't pick an 'original' name for the franchise to collectively own. Surprising considering it's a disney movie really.
  13. Graffiti existed in the past too, they just used different methods to do it. After all, we know so much about a lot of early human culture through what is essentially graffiti done by aboriginals...

    Legoland

Heart Lake city seems to have been a clever tool that has allowed Legoland to 'prove' new additions don't attract more guests. lol
  15. This happens all the time. All. The. Time. Like literally the only manufacturer who doesn't do that is B&M. With wood they can bend it a tiny bit, gerst's rides have popped out during construction a couple times, (karnan's weird serpant thingy had it) and I read rumours somewhere that tarons highest S bend had it too!

    Logger's Leap

    where did they confirm it?

    Logger's Leap

Very common; you'd be surprised how many people have caused trouble on flumes daily by standing up on lifts or even getting out. On top of that, because of the rides condition, these rides have random break downs alot and this can really cause havoc in getting guests off to a safer place. Evacuations on log flumes are long and challenging processes that can be very time consuming and resource consuming, and if boats stack on hard to access points, real problems do occur.
  20. Ripsaw was my fave flat ride for a while, I will sorely miss the weird air time you got on it Rip in pieces
  21. An OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL video of the complete track
  22. It had like 9 members of staff, probably the most heavily staffed ride on the park that wasn't a coaster
