  1. That's exactly what the owners want to achieve. In the interview I previously linked, Russ says the aim is to 'break people'.
  2. ScareTOUR conducted an interview with Russ Mckamey. Most have probably already seen it knowing my luck though.

I like this song. You don't need to understand the French or have subtitles to get what this song is about thanks to the video and tone of voice, powerful stuff.
  4. *Apparently* many of the actors have experienced it themselves before.

Mystery of Hocus Pocus Hall! *exhales deeply* Tussauds or Merlin?

    Fastrack

Sorry but I don't think that Paramount park will have that much of an effect on Merlin, people hate change, but last time I checked construction had barely started yet, if at all! If you ask someone who isn't an enthusiast if you will, they will instantly say that theme parks are full of long queues, so they may complain, but they may also assume it is all part and parcel with visiting a park like Thorpe. How are priority passes the next best thing? I'm sure if more people refused them they would stop giving them out as they're realising it's not making people happy. Another thing, a small comment can go a long way, you don't have to be famous or some kind of journalist to spread word (they often get the best treatment anyway as to avoid any bad publicity from anyone 'significant'). Problem is LC that it's a bit of a vicious circle, so long as people are content with getting priority passes, the park will continue to give them out.

    Fastrack

If it was so bad you were prepared to go and complain about it, why not take the moral high ground? I mean, what do people seriously expect to receive or achieve by complaining? They're hardly going to stop selling fastrack or suddenly improve the ratios... I also know far too many people who complain for the priority passes.

They can refuse it as a matter of principle, that's not hard. Serious hypocrisy on their account.

    Fastrack

Yes I know why they are given out, what I don't get is why those who complain about it accept them.

I just don't see the point in complaining about fastrack/the dreaded ratios, then accepting priority passes as a form of compensation.
  11. Howl'o'ween was absolutely brilliant. Much better atmosphere than I have seen at Fright Nights. The mazes were good, especially Mystery- it had such a brilliant storyline and was so beautifully themed, all of the little details had me grinning inside (despite being kind of scared the whole time as it was my first maze-type thing ever). Vampire:Haunting in the Hollows was great, the actors are good and it follows a relevant storyline. However I only done this in the day as I didn't come out of it feeling great despite being twice the recommended age... The rides in the dark were fun and the lighting was fab. Vampire actually had me wow-ing at how different it is at night and I loved spinning around on Fury, unable to really see where I was going. I also really really liked Rameses' little laser show, there was quite a good ambience around the ride area, great fun! I loved it. The ride host we kept on seeing around was fab too!

As it has been stated many, many times before, what is the point in replacing it if they are just going to be faced with the same problems for the decade or so the ride would live for?
  13. People have been speculating about the tree tagging and the like for quite some time, it's currently a case of 'your guess is as good as mine'- on TPM atleast. I also don't think that the current sources are entirely reliable, what with it just being a case of people playing around with what others have said etc. etc.
  14. Shamelessly going to copy Tommy and Altitude because I'm an unimaginative loser. Theme Park: Adventure Island- oh I meant Chessington Coaster: Stealth/Inferno/Vampire Country: Wales Band: Bastille Song: New Dorp New York by SBTRKT Movie: Space Jam<3 TV Show: The Big Bang Theory or How I Met Your Mother Book (by series): The Hunger Games or 'Gone' UK city: Cardiff (I really, really like Wales) Restaurant: Anything Chinese orientated Article(s) of Clothing: Anything that isn't overly flamboyant or just ugly. I'm a plain person. I like forever 21, Hollister and Jack Wills though; but Merlin have been sucking up all of my money recently</3
  15. I have discussed this with a few members recently, this isn't an experience, this is torture.
  16. If I remember correctly from an earlier discussion somewhere on the forum, isn't the only place a [substantial-ish?] building can go is towards the centre of the park due to flooding issues etc. Which is also why The Swarm station doesn't have a roof? Correct me if I'm wrong, but would a dark ride-type building actually be able to go in the fungle site? Although I guess it's not as close to the edge as the likes of SAW and The Swarm, but I'm curious, where could a dark ride building really/ideally go? I mean, a lot of people want it, but is it particularly plausible without the removal/moving around of attractions that are currently within the park? I confused myself.
  17. Huh, never knew you could do that, thanks Matt for encouraging me in my lazy tendencies.
  18. I am also aware of that but my main point was that it's awkward on laptops etc.
  19. Trialling a system with a standby queue isn't a true representation of what a 'queueless theme park' will look like really. I still find this whole thing somewhat laughable.
  20. OTH isn't particularly great though, good for families mind... And it hasn't exactly been maintained well, which is most probably the fate a ride like that would also encounter at Thorpe.
  21. Guess that the target demographic for FN wouldn't really have much of an interest for AB4D.
