Nope. It is an intentional effect from the fire engine. It's a great effect too, that really adds to the drama of the ride.

Storm Surge does tend to get big queues so doing it earlier might not be a bad idea. Saying this, personally, I'd ride a coaster first because they tend to be popular. Maybe try Inferno and then head to Stealth. I wouldn't classify Storm Surge as a must ride so don't focus too much on riding it. I find it kind of dull. Don't stress out about riding everything - it means that you can't relax and enjoy the park. Have lunch either early or late, because that can dramatically shorten your queue time. Don't forget less publicised attractions such as X, Rumba and Angry Birds 4d. All of them are great fun. Ride The Swarm near the end. Due to its proximity to the entrance, it is very popular in the morning so if you wait it will probably have a 20min max wait in the afternoon. Enjoy your day and hope this helps!

Isn't in the other way around? We can wait to visit as we have passes. However, 'the average guest' may have booked for the end of May with the soul intention to ride DBGT only to find that it isn't open. Therefore, surely this affects non AP holders more?

I'd prefer Thorpe to set reasonable opening dates which were only set once the park was sure that the ride would be open on time.

I'm glad that the majority of that review has been edited - Thorpe seem to be very good at keeping this a secret at the moment. After all, it would be a great shame if after all this secretivity, an Instagram account or a review leaked all the information...

I'd agree. Nemesis Inferno and Stealth aren't exactly gleaming but they only need a paint job in about 5 years or so.

One more piece of advice Cian, don't spend all your time chatting to me and Miles! I'm the opposite to you. I want to go into architecture/engineering in an attempt to get into the theme park industry. Due to this, I picked resistant materials. The trouble is, I'm useles at the practical side of it and the design is the only reason I've picked it. I really don't want to regret my decision...
