Ringo reacted to Coaster in Adventure Island - Southend
He travelled from a tier 3 area to visit Adventure Island and claimed it under "work" which, IMO, is nonsense.  The idea is travelling to a lower tier for work should only be done if essential, not to go and ride a few coasters.

It's also setting a bad example to his followers and is one of those things where just because you can find a loophole, it doesn't mean you should.

He has also been on a blocking spree on social media with anyone who has dared to question his actions, and has referred to them as "trolls" even though many are just (rightfully) calling out his actions as selfish.

Earlier this year when the allegations came to light, he also tried to hide those at first by removing the replies to his tweets.  He's awful IMO.

He, much like other YouTubers, are slaves to the algorithm.

Stop posting videos for a bit and then suddenly your viewership (and revenue) drops considerably.

I think he's one of these people who became a bit of a favourite whilst working at Towers, and he took full advantage of that, allowing his fanbase to be in a good position when vlogging became such a major thing (I remember when the "Theme Park Room" was one of the most cringiest things to ever cringe).

My experiences of him have been limited (even if I accidentally appear in one of his vlogs in the background), but it's not been great admittedly. Being loud and annoying in the middle of Nemesis entrance area and then kicking off because he and his group weren't allowed to be the first on MRAWS. There's certainly an edge to him which was put under the spotlight this year.

Unfortunately (and this is a larger trend), the fan base of said creators are perhaps some of the strangest of beings. The mental gymnastics they will perform to support someone because they've gotten involved in shenanigans is often a sight to behold.

All in all, even if it was technically work related, travelling across the country in the current climate is certainly not a great idea. Though half the issue is down to the poor handling of this pandemic from our dear leaders.

Won't be heading here anytime soon, can't call yourself Covid secure whilst allowing those from Tier 3 in. Remember to stay safe people.

MaP owners are hilarious. They seem to think loyalty is owning an annual pass. The reality is the 'sell em cheap, pack em in;' worked pre covid but with this year, that philosophy backfired.

*looks over at America and see the Busch/seaworld parks has an 11 park pass with no exclusions, free parking, one free quick queue pass a day and multiple tickets for other guests cheaper than the Platinum MAP

Lets see now in regards to new attractions between last year to this year now.

Busch/Seaworld - Iron Gwazi,Pantheon,Texas Stingray, Ice breaker, Emperor.

Merlin - Gangster Granny, Croc Drop, Black Mirror.

The MAP group are kicking off big time about the price hike, but let's be honest here - the passes have been too cheap for too long. MAPpers typically won't use F&B on park, where Merlin make that precious and needed revenue and margin.

There are so many independently owned theme parks and visitor attractions in the UK that offer a much better experience than Merlin's, I used to see things differently, but nowadays I just have no interest in the MAP even without this latest price increase.

Why not support the parks and businesses that really need it, and visit somewhere different next year?  I can't see the logic behind giving Merlin another £200+ for the same old stuff every year?

Of course, it's different if you still enjoy Merlin's offering, but those who don't, why pay more for a MAP when there are so many other options?

I also have some exclusive genuine news that Room on the Broom will be called Room in the Hocus Pocus Hall next year!

The maze will go back to also using its previous name because Nick the cleaner found an old sign from Hocus Pocus Hall and thought of how good it would look added to the current sign.

Inside the maze you will be required to wear 3D glasses once again, not because anything is in 3D, but just because they look funky.

I think it's time to state this simply.

There has been no confirmation by the park that Tomb Blaster is receiving any work, or a re-theme. It might happen, it might not.

Until then, rumours are just that: rumours. It doesn't matter if Nick Hutson, Theme Park Giraffe, Doughnut Dan, Gil Lible or Professor Pepsi Burp have "confirmed" or said stuff.

The best thing to do is to wait until a park confirms something before believing it. Until then, it's best to take anything else with a pinch of salt and not think something is definitely happening just because some guy said so.

@MarkC who is Mr Gil Lible or is this a fictional character as part of a joke, like the one that @JoshuaA pulled? If you are joking you’ll regret it next season (2021) when you see that Tomb Blaster has been transferred back to Forbidden Tomb in an extensive refurbishment!!!

I guess it will all depend on the wording of the contracts and things like that.

With something like Olympia, I'd have thought the contract would be for bringing the coaster for 5 (or however many) events, with an expectation of annual events. But obviously if an event doesn't run in a specified year, then the ride can't be bought to the event, so it wouldn't count.

With the parks, their contracts would count years/seasons, and since the attraction is in situ all the time, it would be different. ie, the contract would be for the ride to be in situ for 5 years, not necessarily for it to run 5 years. This is where the wording and fine print of the contracts would come into play. Could an IP specify they want an attraction to run a minimum number of days in a season? Would Merlin agree to that? Does the IP still get paid if an attraction doesn't open? To what extent does having an attraction closed affect the brand name of an IP (I'd suspect it's minimal, but who knows)? All of these things could be different for different IPs too.

I remember when Saw first opened that there were rumours floating around that Lionsgate had stated that if less than 90% of the special effects were working, the ride had to be closed until they were fixed. I believe it was absolute rubbish, but many people believed it.

Personally, I'd expect the set up to be pretty basic at its heart. Thorpe/Merlin pay a fixed amount each year, and the IP get a certain percentage of the profit of merchandise related to that IP too. That would last x amount of years, and then discussions would reopen. Obviously there'd be other stuff, but that'd be the heart of it. I could be way off of course, but just what seems sensible.

At this point, with Ghost Train, I'd've thought that Derren would rather not have it run a year beyond the original planned contract ending, and just cut ties with it. It certainly feels like he's no longer connected with the project.

This fails to make my belief thick.

The "I heard from some guy who knows another guy whose dog walker is husband of someone who overheard someone from Merlin say that this was happening" school of rumours isn't exactly overwhelmingly belief thickening.

2021 - year of the classics! Forbidden Tomb, wicked Witches Haunt and best of all Toyland Tours is coming back. It was why they played Toyland tours audio in Towers Street Trading this year! It was a teaser!

All jokes aside maybe just maybe the name 'forbidden Tomb' will be reused with its current new 2020 storyline. It would still work as a name.

This has nothing to do with its old ride. It was only renamed Forbidden Tomb in its final year under its previous form so the name doesn't have much 'old' meaning. If it was a return to the old I'm sure it would use Terror Tomb in name.

Chessie are digging itself out of the pit Tussauds lead it down by... Bringing back a ride Tussauds built.

Again, trying to appeal to some sense of nostalgia to a ride to gain some clout in enthusiast circles. A "pet project" that will essentially result in said person's involvement making it all about themselves as opposed to anything good.

I would love for Chessington to remove Nick Hutson's awful voice and script (I would say get some real voice talent in with a better script, but really it doesnt need any 'narration' at all)

Relight it properly, like an adventure through an Egyptian tomb, not this tacky scare maze look grabbing your attention (I mean it's better than the 2016 UV, how can you get this ride wrong so many times!)

Put back the 2002 Tomb Blaster theme which was much more memorable, at least on the outside and finale.

But above all, maybe stop rehashing the memory of a great ride to excuse the current mess? It's long time for something new!

Yeah, it's unprofessional and sucks the fun out of the real reveal. Especially they just  big up something so minor to get a reaction, we all know Forbidden Tomb is not really "returning".

Let's not get ahead of ourselves; nothing has been announced regarding a Tomb Blaster re-style into Forbidden Tomb for 2021 by the park.

If it does happen, it will probably be as cheaply done as this year's, ahem, "upgrade", and not really be an improvement. I imagine they'd probably just turn off the targets and remove the guns, rather than actually remove the targets (see the start of the ride...).

I used to like it when enthusiasts who worked in the industry kept quiet about (any potential) future plans, and didn't leak stuff, rather then tell people on the internet so their e-penises can match the size of their egos.

Imagine admitting to being one of the people behind the Tomb Blaster revamp.

Then imagine how bad an attempt at squeezing nostalgia out of the original would be.
