    Video Games.

Oh my days. Totally didn't realise Steam allowed you to download games you own on different computers. Bring on Train Simulator 2! Wooooo!
  2. It has electricity wires poking out of it now. Oh the excitement. It reminds me of the days of queueline tvs being installed.
  3. Storm Surge was open today. I didn't ride it.
  4. Yes - finally, York has something worth going for (apart from its culture, it's beautiful city, it's railway and museum, it's Jorvic viking centre, it's Minster and it's Park & Ride systems).. It is.. the CHOCOLATE MUSEUM. Unfortunately, I am **** and do not provide photos. But seriously, in all seriousness, it's ace. It's like cadbury world, but about a billion times better (it helps that it wasn't opened in 1992). Learning about the history of chocolate, the history of chocolate in york, involving Rowntrees, Nestle and the Terrys brand. There are a couple of mentions of Cadbury and Kraft, but York hates them as Kraft are evil gits. So, what happens here? Well, you meet real chocolateers, you get shown how chocolate is made (interactively!), see and talk to chocolateers making some actual products which you can eat literally minutes later. Finished off by a natural ending in the worlds best chocolate shop and cafe (products made with chocolate, and run by themselves and not some stupid external company, take that Cadburys). It's cheap to visit (£9.50 per adult, concessions available), it lasts the same amount of time as Cadbury World, the staff are far more friendly and knowledgable about their products and have real enthusiasm (unlike Cadbury of which I visit yearly), and honestly.. the only thing Cadbury does better is have a giant anamatronic gorilla. Apart from that, even the marketing section is better in world of chocolate. So yes, if you visit york at any time ever, go to this museum. Please. If you do go, share in this topic, and take some bloody photos. Need links? News article: http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/9614506.Inside_York_s_new_chocolate_museum/ Or website?: http://www.yorkssweetstory.com/ Thanks lads and lasses.
  5. I enjoyed Colossus the last time I went on it, reminds me of my old excessive Colossus riding years (those years before queues <3). Inferno for me.
  6. 1) Nemesis. Did you know it has 4 inversions? 2) Swarm. Cos I quite like bees. 3) Oblivion. Cos humans do not bounce. 4) Inferno. Because of the tin shed. 5) Air. I'm scared of flying.
  7. The seating issue may be similar to what Air experienced in its first year, when they had to change all the sensors in the seats to a different system. Hmm.. bit of theming. That must be the only thing why TG Cruise and studios are there for.
  8. What the hell. WHY EVEN BOTHER DOING THESE BLOODY CHANGES IF YOU KNOW THEY'LL END UP BEING REVERSED. I am not enjoying towers decision making 2012.

    Oakwood

Awkward. Love oakwood though, seriously love it. Need to visit again. The parks doing better nowadays, with its return of the 10pm closes (lol towers), and so hopefully investment is literally just round the corner!
  10. I remember the days of two train Kumali. Back when I thought the place was decent.
  11. Foreign Tourists make up practically none of the percentage of guests. I'd hazard a guess at no more than 5%. However, yeah those international events, plus the weather being awful, plus the eurozone completely blasting everyones confidence in economy, plus the cuts taking a bite (which everyone knew would happen this year anyway) equals a lot of reasons for lower gate figures. I imagine next year would be better. They chanced it, they did a lovely business gamble. Has it paid off? You can only really find out by end of season.
  12. Happy birthday to the Mack Ride system inside the building that houses Tomb Blaster...
  13. Probably due to just filtering fastrack to make it easier on life. I doubt it'd be too much to do with how many people, as there's a few release points through the queue to escape - plus they used to do it anyway. Chessie used to use this reason for vamps, tomb and bubbles.. but it was purely to filter fastrack and make sure their queueing was minimal than anything else - on days when fastrack wasn't sold they'd have the stations filled with people.
  14. How could it be a mistake? People visit to ride a rollercoaster there, they don't decide to visit because the rollercoaster is about an invasion. It's down to how its marketted, and I've thought thorpes advert is pretty boring - particularly adding in the YMAS song. If they went with a more raptor style advert, that may have drummed up more interest. 200,000 less people? I doubt it - not at this stage. The drop for towers between 2010 and 2011 was just shy of 250k, and that was for entire season.
  15. Shockwave best coaster? It's all about ben10 or troublesome trucks tbh. Not actually lying.
  16. Wonder why they changed the nemesis branding. That old font is a billion times better.
  17. I remember that other film, it was snow white. It was pretty poor really. Best thing about it was excessive mentioning of the "Dark Forest" and how they needed someone with information about it. Amazing. Rock of Ages just looks so boring, Cruise and Brand are crap.
  18. Righteo, what have I watched recently.. MIB3 I enjoyed... Cannot remember what else really. However, saw Abraham Lincoln yesterday. Summed up: It's bloody good, kinda sherlock holmesy. It's well worth watching, definitely worth watching.
  19. Weekends and holidays were popular. Very popular. I highly doubt they needed many people to break even. Bit stupid really.
  20. Zoo days have gone. Have we seriously gone back to the 07 era? Didn't realise the parks were that screwed up at the moment..

    The Smiler

I always seem to look over at SW7 site now, instead of down - but it makes me forget the drop, which makes it feel worse and unexpected. However, pretty sure all the fansites were waffling on about stuff clashing when Air opened next to Nemesis. Not too fussed.
  22. WOAH its mental. Looks bloody ace.
  23. Its difficult to compare pricing abroad, mainly because the tax charged on admissions are usually way lower. Plus, barely anyone does visit towers without BOGOFs now. Shame.
