August 28, 201411 yr Author comment_189977 How was it a last minute investment? It was probably first planned art least a year ago, which I wouldn't call last minute for a small investment.
August 28, 201411 yr comment_189978 If they put a 4D Saw film in that cinema I can just see you being totally drenched in 'blood' at every opportunity
August 28, 201411 yr comment_189981 ...and it'll also be in a family-friendly area! How will THAT work?
August 28, 201411 yr Author comment_189983 If they put a 4D Saw film in that cinema I can just see you being totally drenched in 'blood' at every opportunity Showing scenes from Saw 3D / Saw VII would also give a brilliant opportunity to utilise the seats during the car trap too!
August 28, 201411 yr comment_190018 No saw is crap and we have learnt from saw the ride. Angry birds should be kept as the safe zone.
August 28, 201411 yr comment_190028 No saw is crap and we have learnt from saw the ride. Angry birds should be kept as the safe zone. I'm sorry, isn't saw one of the most successful horror brands to date? And SAW: The Ride was possibly one of the most successful addition to the park since Colossus back in 2002.
August 28, 201411 yr comment_190045 Saw is a boring film series. That's why my mates like swarm and not saw. The ride is ok but not so cool
August 28, 201411 yr Author comment_190059 Saw is one of the better received rides on park apparently and the film series is certainly iconic. Sure, it's not everyone's cop of tea, and the response is mixed from enthusiasts, but it's definitely been a great investment for the park!
August 28, 201411 yr Author comment_190067 The park's website says that Fright Nights (or at least FN attractions) is only suitable for over 13s, so it seems unlikely. I was interested to see if they would do that, but there's nothing wrong with having a more adult event for a family park, especially for only a couple of weeks.
August 28, 201411 yr comment_190071 ^ It's more of a guideline than actual rule but it was probably 'Over 12s'
August 28, 201411 yr comment_190092 I don't think Thorpe would benefit from having a family maze or a 'safe zone.' They may have changed their target market as a whole but fright nights is so successful because people like being scared out of their wits. It would ruin the atmosphere if a family maze was added to the lineup especially only a year on from the Lionsgate partnership. Thorpe don't theme well anyway so theres not really any need for a safe zone.
August 28, 201411 yr comment_190095 Just wondering, didn't something outside The Asylum have 'You're Next' written on it last year (obviously to go with the roaming actors)?
August 28, 201411 yr Author comment_190097 Just wondering, didn't something outside The Asylum have 'You're Next' written on it last year (obviously to go with the roaming actors)? If memory serves me correctly, it was either a telephone box or a black sign.
August 28, 201411 yr comment_190100 If it was a phone box, I just hope at some point last year they had one of the actors to stand right outside the box, inches away from the glass, while someone's inside!
August 29, 201411 yr comment_190141 Thorpe parks definitely getting something new this year, and exactly where the asylum was! But what could it be? '@LivvyGemStar: @THORPEPARK Hello will the Asylum maze be open this year for fright nights 2014 ?' '@THORPEPARK: @LivvyGemStar We will have a brand new experience in replacement but in the same location. It is going to be a unique experience!' Thoughts?
August 29, 201411 yr Author comment_190145 Given that the past three Fright Nights have given new mazes with rather special / different twists (isolation rooms, bags on head, multiple routes in small groups), I'd expect something with an equally interesting twist. I don't think it had been confirmed it would be in Asylum's spot yet, so nice to have that officially confirmed. Really do look forward to what Thorpe give us!
August 29, 201411 yr comment_190148 I am really looking forward to fright nights this year, let's hope this experience really is unique! Not long to go now before it all kicks off, so let's hope we get some details soon!
August 29, 201411 yr comment_190149 Depends if they've realised that the term 'unique' doesn't mean 'take an idea already used by a smaller independent scare event' don't it?
