kinnaird
If only the actors put the same amount of effort in when they weren't being filmed! Really enjoyed the mazes on the preview night (when there was press there filming them) but the actors seemed to go downhill from there (based from my experiences). we can only wish!!! TPJames
Wasn't sure where to post this however I believe this topic is related and appropriate. I was having a look across youtube and ran into this, what an amazing set up! Seeing as the owner only made it in a week simply to show limited money, time and space could be used to create an immersive experience I think it is fantastic. Ovbiously is no where near on the scale of thorpe's mazes but it clearly shows how an intense, enjoyable and immersive experience can be created. kinnaird and RubyRed95
JoshC.
Fright Nights is up for 3 awards at this year's ScareCON: -'Best Overnight Experience', with 'The Extra Cut' -'Best street team', with their roaming actors -'Best Halloween event', for Fright Nights in general Linkys: http://www.thorpeparkmania.co.uk/news/04-04-2015/Fright-Nights-up-for-Awards/ http://www.scarecon.org/scars---the-scarecon-annual-recognition-awards.html It's a shame that none of their attractions were nominated for best Halloween attraction or best original design/concept, especially since Cabin won best Halloween attraction last year. But then again, there was a dip in quality for Cabin compared to 2013, and I guess none of the others were quite good enough for the cut. Would love to see Blackout at Warwick Castle win best Halloween attraction though; very clever attraction!
Dodge2002
I hate to say, but I don't think it really deserves any of those titles. Although obscenely overpriced, the overnight stay at the towers seemed to offer a far better overnight experience. The Street actors are too sporadic and don't really actually do much, As for best overall event, they have some serious operational fixes needing to be made before they can rightfully earn this title. Organisation, queueing and consistent experiences are just as important as the actually quality of the attractions - I can't speak for the rest of the nominees, but The Towers and Tulley's Farm are far superior at the actual logistics side of hosting their events.
