Ricky
Nope, 16 minimum, you need one of them under 16 to get a job yes but amusement parks will just say no.

Paul
Can I just correct the confusion here. On the council website, it states that under 16's are not permitted to work in traveling fairs, fairgrounds, amusement arcades etc. Theme parks (permanant attractions) are in general an exception to this, however Thorpe Park as stated on the email reply posted by Tim is one attraction that does not employ under 16's. Thorpe doesn't, yet this doesn't mean that other parks don't.
Welsh Boy
I was told that Thorpe Park weren't employing anyone under the age of 18 at the moment...
Paul
That's not true. If it is, I can't understand why.
thorpey
I was told that Thorpe Park weren't employing anyone under the age of 18 at the moment...It might be the case that the jobs open you need to be over 18 for, such as security or ride operators... Welsh Boy
I only believed it because I went on www.thorpeparkjobs.com and there was a job as a ride attendant and it said at the top:"Sorry but we are currently not taking on anyone under the age of 18"I'm confused

It does however mean that you are more likely to be successful if you are over 18. Purely because then you dont have restrictions on when you can work
Welsh Boy
Ok, I get that, but this was about 2 months ago when I looked and I haven't looked since...
thorpey
Ok, I get that, but this was about 2 months ago when I looked and I haven't looked since...Of right,, in that case they would have been looking for someone who they could train to operate as well, as you need to be over 18 to be able to operate
Kevin
The reason is because they don't want to really employ workers who are under the legal limited of literally 'unlimited hours', as full time at TP would be about 60 hours a week, an under 18 can only work 40. Jake C
If I worked at thorpe park I would want to work in Naughty and Nice in Canada Creek . I dont think I would want to operate the rides but than again I never have so I cant really say it wouldn't be good.
Aaron Smith
Anyone else here either returning to work at Thorpe in 2010 or looking to apply and work their for the 2010 season?I've "Applied" online, the only thing you can do at present is register your interest until recruitment begins at the end of December.Aaron
Aaron Smith
Wow, surely that'll be a bit of a trek, Aaron?Magrathea, your everywhere No, I'm looking to move closer to Thorpe Park, just not sure where to. Maybe somebody on here can suggest the best areas to live around Thorpe, and where is cheaper :)Aaron
Kevin
Chessington is a cheap area to live, however obviously only appropriate if you work at WoA, however Ashford/Feltham is quite cheap but quite nasty.I wouldn't recommend moving down just for a theme park though. Kevin
Full days, as they pretty much only employ over 18s there.

Jackstar
Oh right, do you reckon there would be any chance of a 16 year old (me) being employed?
Lordcutter6
Oh right, do you reckon there would be any chance of a 16 year old (me) being employed?Yes you can get a job there at 16 but if you want to do rides you can't do Ride operating till your 18, only hosting. Also Thorpe follow the Child and Young Workers Regulations when recruiting those under 18.
