December 18, 200816 yr comment_41510 I personally think Zodiac is a great ride! Not Thorpe's best, best still brilliant. I think it's better than Enterprise at AT.
December 18, 200816 yr comment_41521 its painfull when it rains though it feels like hail. but the worst when it rains is stealth.
December 19, 200816 yr comment_41526 I personally think Zodiac is a great ride! Not Thorpe's best, best still brilliant. I think it's better than Enterprise at AT. Is it any different or does it just feel edgier?
December 19, 200816 yr comment_41528 Is it any different or does it just feel edgier? The one at Alton Towers is bigger,
December 19, 200816 yr comment_41530 The one at Alton Towers is bigger,I still prefer Zodiac, maybe because I go on Enterprise more?
December 19, 200816 yr comment_41538 Well it's a Huss Enterprise, is it even possible to tell what height your at, and then compare to another Enterprise? All in all, it really makes no difference.
December 19, 200816 yr comment_41558 They are not lol, I am 100% sure Enterprise is bigger, not LOADS bigger but it is bigger
December 20, 200816 yr comment_41573 I always thought enterprize was the smaller of the two...I'm pretty sure I'm wrong though
December 20, 200816 yr comment_41575 Yes that is wrong All Huss Enterprises are the same size. THIS is made by Huss, does the same thing as an Enterpise yet is really big, so it's sorta proving you wrong in a lose sense
December 20, 200816 yr comment_41578 Actually it doesn't - there are two variations of the Enterprise, which are NOT made by Huss:Schwarzkopf - build Enterprises with either 16 or 21 gondolas, as opposed to Zodiac and Enterprise's 20.Heinz Fahtz - build Enterprises with only 16 gondolas, as opposed to Zodiac and Enterprise's 20.That picture is from The Flat Joint, which isn't a terribly reliable nor concise source of information (imo), and the 'Enterprise' shown isn't an Enterprise, it is a prototype Sky Lab (equivalent to an Enterprise as a Frisbee XL is to a Frisbee; so just... bigger really) at Canada's Wonderland.
December 20, 200816 yr comment_41579 I think Mr H summed it up nicely, but yeah basically I'm not wrong because that picture isn't a Huss Enterprise.
December 20, 200816 yr comment_41595 Ok guys, to end the discussion about the size for once and for all, Huss only make one size Enterprise. Zodiac may seem slightly bigger because it's not built into the ground like Enterprise is.
December 21, 200816 yr comment_41661 I doubt Huss would really bother making different sizes of Enterprises, espeically with such a small difference like people seem to be making out. As I said before, if you have been on Zodiac or Enterprise, you can never really tell what height your at during the ride. I mean you can probably tell when your upside down, but your not going to be thinking at the top 'ZOMG this really feels 0.574cm taller than Zodiac!!'. If you get what I mean.
December 22, 200816 yr comment_41675 Maybe Enterprise is just Faster then?? because when I'm on it. it justs feels faster and bigger (Thats Just Me really). And looking at piccys I thought it was bigger but sorry my mistake. :-)
March 9, 201015 yr comment_85368 I've never been on this ride. It doesn't look like the sort of ride I would enjoy. Judging by other people's comments I think I won't ever bother with this ride and stick with the ones I enjoy.
August 15, 201114 yr comment_121466 My teacher tryed to tell me that the force pulls you inwards, I dont think so because if it pulled you inwards you would be on the roof of the cage.
August 15, 201114 yr comment_121500 My teacher tryed to tell me that the force pulls you inwards, I dont think so because if it pulled you inwards you would be on the roof of the cage.Your teacher is right. It's the argument over centrifugal force vs. centripetal force. The former being a force that doesn't actually exist. What is at play is centripetal force. Centrifugal force suggests you are being put under a force which is pushing away from the centre of the circle and thus pushing you into the seat. But, this is not the case and will never be the case for any type of motion. Centripetal force is when you are forced inwards and towards the centre of the circle. All moving objects want to travel in a straight line unless an external force is applied to them (centripetal force in the case of Zodiac.) If the bottom of the cage were to suddenly drop out, you would be flung from the ride in a straight line where gravity would cause you to fall and change the straight line into a curve. The bottom of the cage stops you from being flung out (thank god) and causes you to constantly change direction and travel in a circle around the centre. The bottom of the cage forces you inwards towards the centre and constantly changes your direction. This helps you stay in your seat! So yes, you are being pulled inwards. You aren't on the roof of the cage as your body wants to travel away from the ride in a straight line out the bottom of the cage.
September 7, 201113 yr comment_122855 Well described Jason. Here is THE Wardley talking about it, here, from 1:30:
May 1, 201213 yr comment_137092 No,before that. The original 'Enterprise' opened at Thorpe Park in 2000 and the later replacement in 2006. Neither Rush or Slammer are newer to the park (as these opened in 2005). Marc's post, which was written in 2006, in the context of the conversation back then, was saying about when the replacement - which, as you say, came in 2006 - originally opened. I believe that particular Enterprise opened at Drayton Manor in 2002, but was then brought over to Thorpe in 2006 due to the older one being knackered pretty much(?) This has probably been mentioned before in this thread, but can't be bothered to trawl through that. So, in context, Marc was right...
