Matt 236
Not much to see yet, but somewhat exciting. Also loving Vekoma's new track style too. Will be interesting if this ride actually features dark ride sections. Rumours also suggest Nighthawk and Hollywood will be the next attractions to face the bulldozer, which perhaps means Fantasmica will be relocated to Rookburgh. Benin
13 hours ago, Mattgwise said: Wow they don't mess about do they. Interesting that this flyer is using their newer suspended coaster track. I'm wondering if the trains will be two across seating rather than the four across of some of the older flyers as the track doesn't look any wider than the suspended coaster style. Still at least that's the smoother Vekoma Track. This is a brand new type of Flyer (unconfirmed) from Vekoma, they've had test track set up in Vlodrop for a while, I THINK they were 4 across seating... The main question lies with how the loading process will occur... I always forget this is opening next year too... Mattgwise
LK_
Will this not be the same style as Stingray at Suzhou Giant Wheel Park? Same style track, uses 4 across trains
JoshC.
Yay, more construction updates, this time from PhantaFriends.de... Twisty track More supports! Really expect this thing to...F.L.Y. up...
JoshC.
It wasn't going to take long before Phantasialand and enthusiasts had a conflict over Rookburgh... http://www.looopings.nl/weblog/8265/Phantasialand-vraagt-fansites-om-bouwfotos-nieuwe-achtbaan-te-verwijderen.html Seems like you can get a decent view of the site from outside the park, so fan sites have been taking photos. Naturally, Phanny aren't happy and asking for the photos to be removed (one such photo is in the article). Good to see some things never change... JoshC. Matt 236
Wow, the park are flying ahead with construction here. Sorry I'll leave. Honestly though it's perfectly clear we should hopefully get a 2018 opening. A very exciting year for new European coasters indeed. I am wondering how much of the coaster will be enclosed when finished? We shall have to see.
JoshC.
The test track at Vekoma HQ now has trains (with seats!) attached... Presumably these will be very similar (if not, the same), to the seats used on Fly! Mysterio Ka and CharlieN
pluk
The shoulder straps look very minimal for a flyer, not sure that'll be too comfortable.
Benin
Look infinitely more comfortable that the original Flying Dutchman restraints... https://rcdb.com/2514.htm#p=65470 Be interesting to see how comfortable they are though, certainly not as bulky as Air's but potentially allows a bit more in the way of freedom like the Wing-Riders/Invert/whatever other vest restraint B&M are doing on... Mega-Lite
As a man who enjoys his shoulders, nothing can be more uncomfortable than those crap B&M wing rider vests, I certainly wouldn't want to imagine a situation where I'm laying down full weight onto the Swarm restraints! Looks quite interesting, I have faith in Vekoma!
LK_
I rode Firehawk at kings island and I found the restraints to be perfectly fine, infact I felt pretty free in them believe it or not, theres a bit of slack in them too so at some points I felt like they were gonna give out lol
JoshC.
Meanwhile at Vekoma HQ... It seems like there will be LSMs on an upward curve track, which is nice. Makes sense since a launch on a flying coaster won't be particularly intense. JoshC.
Who want's an aerial photo of Phantasialand? Everyone of course... Posted by Phantasialand's Executive Assistant Chris (who appeared in loads of Klugheim videos, winter update videos, always looks extremely happy and generally seems like an awesome guy), with the caption 'The sky is the limit'. Rumours have been 'fly'ing around that the park are going to be construction updates akin to what they did with Klugheim, and that they could be due to start soon. So we *might* be seeing a nice, official, you-can't-get-banned-from-the-park-for-life-by-looking-at-it, update on F.L.Y. soon!
Matt 236
Always got to love a view from above, which just shows how intricately and creatively the majority of the park is constructed. Sounds a great idea if the park do update videos again which showcase the construction site. Will make the closed season fly by.
JoshC.
Phantasialand have done an awesome blog post detailing how Mystery Castle essentially works and clarifies the settings it has... https://phantasialandblog.de/funktion-mystery-castle/ So basically, it had 3 settings: 1) Short 2) Longer 3) A little bit longer They use setting 2 up until 2pm, then use setting 3. Depending on the exact weight of a row can change how forceful the ride feels (understandable really). Great to see awesome posts like this! And it's nice to have some clarity over the ride. Just a shame that I find both settings very meh.
Mega-Lite
Setting 1: Better than Ghost is. Setting 2: Power Tower with strobe lights. Setting 3: 1/10 as good as Phantasia fanboys think it is. Hate me.

Matt 236
Loving the so far intricate looking layout, and the interaction towards the surroundings so far seen is definitely highly exciting. Phantasialand are really pulling the boat out with their current investments, which is great to see.
JoshC.
In other news, it's possible that Rookburgh / FLY might not be opening until 2019, according to a Dutch paper who recently had a chat with Vekoma... Benin
I did think it opening next year was optimistic, even for Phantasialand...
Matt 236
Not surprised in all fairness, as theres still a sufficient amount of work to complete, and I would rather they take their time to complete a stunning investment as opposed to fudging it for opening. I wonder if this will mean Rookburgh receives an early 2019 opening as opposed to Summer, and whether any attractions are getting torndown at all now? Given they usually do this just before new attractions open and that Temple and Hollywood are rumoured to be next.
JoshC.
Looopings have now changed the article completely. More like Looolings... Apparently the original quote from Vekoma basically boiled down to 'it might open next, if not, 2019'. Whoops. Turn your panic alarms back down folks.
