alexander
The less of Storm Surge the better, I think.touché, fair point that is!As for this other 'Storm Surge' the tunnel on the outside lets it down, Storm Surge colours
Tom G
The boats don't exactly fit in with the theme either, but it's still ten times better than the appearance of Storm Dirge.
thorpeparkjunkie
I don't think it looks too bad in person The only thing that annoys me is that they didn't theme the top structure or station.Apart from that I actually like it - it's fun too! electricBlll
That is not theming (thank goodness! It is very fake). That is a pay-to-play game that has been installed, named "Shark Bait". It is basically a bucking bull, except with a shark.
alexander
Well I'm going tomorrow so I'll let you all know in detail if I pay enough attention to the park in comparison to my last years visit on cleanliness. Eye sores (Storm Surge) and ride experience etcetera.
Liam T
Its an amazing idea to have a enclosed lift hill themed for storm surge but could you imagine what it would look like on the outside!Poor stormy looks a wreck at the moment putting massive black tunnel ontop of it would be horrific
tomglazed
Yeahh, I'd say the lesser amount of storm surge there is the better. A tunnel would just add extra bulk onto the ride; if they extensively themed it on the outside it would be less of an issue but even then I'd be on the fence whether it would be good or not. Mr. Fish
What is up with the effects in storm surge? when we were queuing they were all on and working and there was a little water bomb? then when I was our go they were off again!I keep looking at it and it was always on and off through the hole day? is it meant to be like this? I know that when it started raining once they turned them off, probably because people didn't want to get any wetter than they already were. Another reason may be because the boats fill up with water easily from the water cannons and the water curtain, by having them off means that they don't have to tip the boats as often as usual. Tom
All effects were on today (when I rode), and it was raining alllll day.
Diesel
effects cant be turned off by the operator, they are controlled by water levels and the only on/off switch is in the shed thing under the lift. Also each effect needs a different water level to be active.
Mr.man
Thats why the waterfall always differs on pressure
Dan
I went on storm surge yesterday and the water was still in boats . And I was first to go on ride too at opening time an water was brown in colour so been there from previous day . I was shocked they could at least have cleaned the boats out for the guests it only takes a few minutes
Laelda_95
I went on today, and it was really slow. Then before the final drop, our boat stopped completely, and empty boats nudged us forward. Then when we got to the end, they couldn't get us up the conveyor belt and into the station, so we got given priority passes. Win.
Benin
^You got priority passes cos you had a fat boat?Goddam disabled posers...

Fred
Seems a bit weird getting a priority pass for not getting back into station normally. But hell, who'd complain at that?!
Laelda_95
Too right! I'm not gonna moan about getting a priority pass
Tom
Your boat literally stalled before the final drop?
Laelda_95
Yeah. Coming round the final bend bit, just before the drop. It just stopped. It was so scary
Tom
:| And other boats came down to nudge yours?Sounds safe.

Win.Call me a skeptic, but was it like seriously quiet when you went or something? Surely there's no way staff could tell you'd stall there and then send empty BOATS round to nudge you. On any other day of the year, I'm pretty sure those boats would've had people in.So yeah, to be honest, I don't believe you on the whole stalling thing... Laelda_95
I'm not going to argue, because it's true. I wouldn't have bothered posting about it if it was a lie. They opened the park slightly earlier to annual pass holders ( I think), which meant we was one of the first 2 boats of the day. The ride was a walk on, and only started getting busy just before it temporarily ceased operation, which would explain the empty boats
JoshC.
You've posted something that was a lie before, apparently... I make my mum drive me to thorpe park, park outside the entrance stare at it for a bit, then go home :LI'm fine with not arguing and that, but I'm sorry, I just do not believe that you stalled... thorpeparkjack
Laelda_95
It's fine, don't believe me, I posted it because I thought it might be a bit entertaining for people to hear about what happened. Obviously not.. I was thinking before I posted, how long would it be before someone accused me of lying, but I really don't care. Warn me for arguing or w/e. It's fine by me.
