Missed me? I've just returned from an almost 3 week trip to the shores of Australasia, a trip which covered Singapore, Australia, China and Hong Kong. Our story begins with me and my friend boarding a Norwegian Air plane (bursting at the seems with the unwashed masses) destined for Singapore. The decision to fly with a budget airline, long distance, was forced upon us and not something I'd recommend, it wasn't too disgusting though. Day 1 I physically cannot sleep or get at all comfortable on planes, so after a 12 hour flight of not sleeping and thinking why do I put myself through this crap, it was decided the first day was…

I've just got back from a quick trip to London to collect my Chinese visa, but owing to the fact tis the season for many showmen from around Europe to bring their toys to various fields in London, theme them vaguely to Christmas and charge £1000000 a pop, it was also time to collect some new creds. With that in mind, after first collecting my visa, me and my friend popped into Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland. You all know about WW, there's entire Facebook pages dedicated to it's existence and some of you even know way too much about travelling rides so I'll keep my review short. - New security checks and set ups were very much welcomed by…

Hi guys, Been a long time lurker on here, thought I would show myself! Had a bit of a lull from theme parks over the last couple of years, but after following SW8 and going back to Fright Nights would like to start getting back in to it again, and thought maybe you guys could give me a hand to kick start it? So in the spring I'd like to go with Mrs Inferno on a theme park trip somewhere in Europe. I have done the UK and various US parks, but never Europe how ridiculous. Was wondering if I could ask some advice? Sooo... - Where's good to go? What's the best European theme park for adults? …

So as part of a choir related tour, I had the opportunity to go to Disneyland Paris. However, as it was one of these school style trips, it was inevitable that the visit would result in huge compromises. To start off, we only had one day in the park. In addition, we spent quite a lot of the morning preparing for a concert (reducing the amount of time we had) and had to have dinner at 6:00 in which we couldn’t stay afterwards (despite being told that we would stay till 9 ish). My ride count was not great: - Hyperspace Mountain x2 - Indiana Jones x1 - Pirates of the Caribbean x1 - Star Tours x1 With regards to the ride…

Visited Screamfest Burton for the first time on Saturday and was very impressed with the mazes and overall event, maze reviews can be found below in the order I did them in. Freak Out The scariest of the three clown mazes I've done this year thanks to the fantastic actor costumes and makeup, the interactive sections within the maze also added some contrast and a sense of fun. Theming was minimal however the confusing layout and multiple routes made up for this! 6/10 Soul Seekers Fantastic maze which made use of atmospheric lighting changes & good detail on the theming. The actors were top notch, particularly in the first scene,…

Just when you thought it was safe to get back on the forums, I'm back, back from Scarefest no less. Our story begins with me dropping my friend off at the car hire place, so he could rent a spacious beast for all his work related crap, it turns out Merlin have acquired the place because it took us 45 unorganised minutes before we were ready to set off. On route to our hotel in Stoke we decided to grab the cred at... Forum has been a little quiet for my liking recently, so I'll help spice things up with another trip report. There will no pictures, I didn't take any because I didn't think I'd do a write up, but here we are. Just over a week ago, while my 2 friends were in China (heartless bastards) and my only other friend was wisely avoiding me, I took it upon myself to up my cred count (1 day Benin, you will fall). We start today on 330 credits, let's see how I fair. Started the day with a 2 hour drive to Clacton, you'll remember I got spited quite heavily there recently. While the memories are still fresh in my mind and my spine is still feeling the many miles driven, I'll hook you guys up with another trip report, you're welcome. The Friday just gone my friend and I hit the roads in order to go to Butlins Skegness to visit our friend who works there, oh and to collect creds. We set off at 6pm on a Friday and knew it was going to be a crap drive but nothing could prepare us for what happened. Good time was made for about half the trip and I got to experience my first ever Smash Burger in Milton Keynes, the food was amazing, as was the view from the viewing window of many rude boys hitting speed humps at 90mph, I re…

Since it's announcement, Star Trek: Operation Enterprise, the brand new Mack shuttle launch coaster at Movie Park Germany has been hot on my radar and we decided to tie in some other new creds and a special event at Phantasialand at the same time. Day 1 Read Mark's recent post in the rant thread to some up how our day started, Gatwick you heartless bastards. Arrived at Amsterdam airport at about 10:30 and went to the hire car people. As you may know by now we don't get on with the hire car industry. This time we chanced our luck with Hertz, as of yet they haven't screwed us over with after rental changes but I will keep you posted. We o…

Prater Trip Report So I recently went to Vienna and had some spare time so went to visit Prater. It's basically a permanent fairground with all rides being operated independently. This makes it quite an expensive experience and the rides aren't the best with quite a few Wild Mouses (should that be Wild Mice?!) but that said it was a good way to kill a few hours... So arriving at the park you're met with the Big Wheel, which is why most people come to Prater. The entrance plaza is quite nice. The map is pretty confusing. Unless you know the names of the ride you wont really know where to go. So I wondered down the right han…

I went to Walygator Parc the other day. I've heard awful things about the place. Truly awful. Whether its the closed down rides, the chipped paint, the queues, the roughness of the rollercoasters, Walygator has it all. I thought it was okay. To get there, we stayed in Luxembourg city and travelled down by train which takes about 45 minutes. (OFF WE GO TO FRANCE'S PREMIER ALLIGATOR THEMED THEME PARK) Our first port of call was Monster, the B&M inverter that originated in Expoland, Japan in 1996 and moved to France in 2010 after Expoland closed down. Now, unlike every other B&M inverter in Europe, Monster has no theming whatsoever. It is…

What do you do when it's your best friend's Birthday and you are both coaster nerds? Mop up some more of the Euro creds! We plumped for the trip that was the cheapest and easiest this time round, save the fun stuff for later in the year! Day 1 An extremely early start sent us flying towards the channel tunnel (chunnel) at half 4 in the morning, can't moan too much though, we were pretty much the only car on the road! Surprisingly for us the whole channel tunnel bit went very smoothly and we were soon on French soil. Parc Saint Paul https://rcdb.com/5024.htm After parking my incredibly low car (low by …

As part of a music tour, I was finally able to visit this theme park everyone raved about. Annoyingly, we only got about 5 hours at the park and it was very busy. But we were able to get on many rides at the park so I will talk about the rides in the order I rode them roughly. Taron: The queue was about 70-80 minutes long, but when I saw the amount of people there it was actually quite impressive that they could deal with that many people. The queue was constantly moving which was much appreciated. With regards to the actual ride itself, it was pretty good, but not as good as I expected. The beginning launch followed by the over-bank followed by the airti…

I've been spoiling you lucky lot with my tales of tackling the land of the rising sun and the land of the idol queens. Today it's going to be a little less exciting, but still very important, a creds a cred after all. West Sands Fun Fair https://rcdb.com/9117.htm This gem of a park recently popped up on coast2coaster and instantly became my nearest +1 and my next challenge. An extremely spur of the moment decision, made about half an hour before setting off, is how all good trips start. We picked a great day to do it as well, it only rained heavily for about 75% of the time. In the car (my own personal missile as I like to think of it) …

So I was going to wait untill the weekend to start this trip report but screw it I'm in the mood. In late April this year, me, my best friend and his wife (who's also a good friend) went on a bit of a special trip to Korea and Japan and it was fantastic! For as long as I can remember I've wanted to go to Japan, the coasters there have always peaked my interest. Korea is a bit of a different story, my ba***rd friend, the same one on this trip, introduced me to Kpop in 2015 and suffice to say it's ruined my life, couple that with T Express and I had more than a good reason to visit. If I rant or moan or come across sarcastic at points let it be known I fully app…

Over the past couple of years I've really enjoyed reading trip reports on various forums, so I figured, for the people like me who enjoy reading these things, I'll take a shot. 3 weeks ago me and my friend went on a weekend trip to Denmark, I had never been to this part of Denmark before, instead having only done Tivoli Gardens (which I love) and Bakken (which I don't). This trip had been on the cards for a while and the opening of DrageKongen was the reason for waiting. Day 1 After a stupidly early flight out of Heathrow, with equally stupid BA we landed in Billund. Seeing Polar X-plorer from the runway was fun and got me to thinking, …

The eventful year of 2016 is soon to come to an end. 2016 was a monumental year for me, riding the world's tallest roller coaster, going to America twice, 10 visits to Thorpe Park (that's probably tiny compared to most people). But now we should take a look at 2017, even though it isn't going to be the best year for coasters that doesn't mean it won't be a good year to visit theme parks. So on this topic, feel free to mention any theme park visits for 2017 (even you're not sure it's going to happen, put it anyway. We're all interested, even if it doesn't happen). I'll say my lineup (it's not in order): Many Thorpe Park trips. …

Right, so quite a few years ago I made posts for a trip that seemed in the clouds. However hopefully now, I am more in a position of a trip finally happening.I'm planning an Orlando trip for 2018. Would September be a good time to visit? Hoping for a 15 day trip out there, and knocking the first and last day for packing, travel and jet lag I'm hoping for the following:2 days at Magic Kingdom 1 day at each other park (total 3)3 days at Universal 2 days Busch Gardens1 day Sea World2 relax days, one for Volcsno Bay and something else and another for Disney Springs and one of the water parks. What's anyone's thoughts on this and is there anything else I should do/plan amongst …

The United Arab Emirates has been getting a lot of attention recently, with four major new theme parks having opened in Dubai over the last few months. I went out there back in March with 130 others on a trip with the European Coaster Club to discover what all the fuss was about. Over the course of five days we visited Legoland Dubai, IMG Worlds of Aventure, Ferrari World, Motiongate, Bollywood Parks Dubai, Sega Republic and some smaller Family Entertainment Centres housed in the giant malls out there. Sadly, Sega Republic has since closed down - it had a fantastic Gerstlauer spinner. The parks are all very high quality, and as you'd expect have …

Hey guys! I'm currently in Texas right now and me and my boyfriend decided to go to Over Texas for the day! So here's a little trip report! Rides Closed: Titan, Superman Tower Of Power, Both Log Flumes Apparantly it was too windy for Titan and Superman, However when purchasing tickets, the ticket is actually available to use every day all the way until September, so on the way back from the road trip we will most likely come back and see if the other rides are open! Okay now to the rides we did First ride of the day was Judge Roy Scream, Sat in the back car, middle row so I wasn't above an axel, this ride was very short but …

Hi Everyone, I've never been to Thorpe Park before and I am planning a trip there on Sunday 9 April 2017! I never visit a theme park without doing some research first so I am glad I found this forum. I have wanted to visit Thorpe Park ever since they announced the SAW ride, as I am a big fan of the movie series. Would anyone be able to give me some advice on how to make the most of my visit? The park seems to only be open 10:00-18:00 the day I am going and I know it will be especially busy on a Sunday... I am going with my brother and we LOVE big rides like rollercoasters - it would be ideal if we could ride all the best rides at least once. We have …

Just wondering who will be going to the Thorpe Park preview day on the 19th of March? Me and Mer managed to get tickets so we will be going. I'm looking forward to going a week before the official start of the season. Can't open soon enough now! Annual Pass days are always nice and quiet so hopefully we will be getting plenty of rides in ahead of the opening meet. If you were fast enough to get tickets, we'll maybe see you around!
