I know that a huge majority of people are going to dislike what I'm about to say but...tough I wish for my hate of this atrociousness to be aired. Yes, I hate it. Well, I'm not sure if it's just the song/video I hate alone, or because so many people love it. I mean the song isn't bad, but because I've heard it so many times and because people go on about it so much, it's made me hate it! Also, what exactly is "Gangnam style", what does it mean or translate as?! As for the dance - I'm aware it's meant to be funny and silly, but it just annoys me Apparently they're meant to be riding a horse? Maybe I'm going blind but I wouldn't have worked that out from just watching it! And what's with the crossing hands over?! People just look so stupid when they copy it Like I say, I know it's not meant to be serious and good for him that it's become so popular. Don't get me wrong; I have a great sense of humor and can be very silly at times. But this is one bandwagon I refuse to jump on. Or even walk near, tbh. And I know a fair few others who hate/dislike the thing too, so I'm not alone with my opinion! And yes, I hit the dislike button on YouTube
  2. I agree Thanks again Will for your nice reply! I feel bad posting stuff like in my last rant as it's quite heavy stuff compared to a lot of other people's rants I always worry about getting a negative reply or annoying others But I honestly don't have many other people to talk to/rant to about this stuff, so it really does mean a lot when members here help me out
  3. Oh my actual effing god. My family I'll try and keep it brief and not bore everyone too much with my depressing rant... My depression has come back so I'm back on antiepressants, which my family are aware of. Mum has cyclothymia (mild bipolar) and brother has had depression before, so you'd think they'd be understanding and a little more sensitive right now, especially as it's only nearly 2 weeks since I went back on the pills and they take a while to work and I've had the insomnia side effect to put up with alongside the depression symptoms. Not saying they should excuse everything, but y'know, just take it into consideration before taking anything I say or do too seriously. I went to get a drink of squash and was rude to my brother when he asked me about something minor with his laptop, because quite frankly I can't deal with such things or people right now. Basically I swore, which was the "issue", but I didn't realise mum was in the house and me and my brother don't take swearing at each other too seriously. So it would have been fine but because she heard me she got angry, which then caused my brother to get angry (its almost like if she takes it seriously then he automatically does too?), so I said sorry and continued to get my drink. All would have been fine, except my mum then decided to do this thing she does where once someone has annoyed her, she then mentions other things about them which annoy her/start having a go at them. She asks what I've done today and gets all sarcy about me cleaning my room (I mean really? I'm 22! Plus she should know how hard it is to do such simple tasks when feeling like I do). I do what I thought was the right thing and ignored her but she carried on being all silly so I just covered my ears and said "Please, I'm not in the mood for this right now!" And then of course, she does the loveliest thing ever, that "OOOH moody!" thing. Despite the depression and awful night last night where I didn't get to sleep until about 6am, I wasn't feeling that angry or moody today, and I took a while to plan going out for a walk later as it helps calm me down, and go out tomorrow, or get up early and attempt to do my room, or at least try to motivate myself. I was going to tell my family this, as it would make them pleased that I'm trying hard and not just letting the depression take over. But now, because of my family I'm in a bad mood but somehow feel I should apologise just to shut them up? Oh and now there's a lovely argument downstairs about dinner as per usual...can't wait to go for this walk later!
  4. Indeed, it does try to kill you. Or at least, give you a brain haemorrhage.
  5. Had the music from the video in my head all day at work! Creeping me out!
  6. I forgot to mention - a voice (presumably "The Governor") interrupted Rush's queue line audio and also kept playing in the Dome, which I thought was a nice touch. Saying things like "I can see what you're doing...do that again and you'll go straight to...The Passing"
  7. I love the new Fright Nights audio on Detonator! Very similar to Extremis at the Dungeons "Send them to the gallows!" So yeah I take back my initial unhappy reaction to Humpty Dumpty going! Didn't get on all the rides yesterday at the meet as it was so busy and was more about the people/social side in many ways, so I didn't get to hear Colossus, Inferno, Samurai, Vortex, Zodiac, Quantum, XNWO or Saw's new audio. Slammer seemed to have some sort of FN audio in the queue and the original music and announcements on the ride? Didn't really notice much about the other rides' audio, I mean I noticed it was different but I guess didn't pay much attention to actually hear what was going on/being said. I remember a bit about Rush's loading announcement, hurrying people to take their seats! And I remember Stealth's launch, 3, 2, 1, FIRE! Bit random but I liked it! Swarm I think had its usual audio but it's awesome anyway! And Asylum's music was playing too fast lol.
  8. Thanks everyone for such an awesome meet! Currently waiting to get out the car park Full TR later or tomorrow!

    Slammer

That sounds about right. Slammer is now only allowed one attendant (so 3 staff in total - main operator, remote operator and attendant), The attendant checks bars on main operator's side, remote operator checks bars on the remote side, aka the side you were sat on/side nearest XNWO. Just felt like being useful and clearing that up! Also yay for Slammer being back open!
  10. Fright Nights for the meet, would love to go Scarefest though, not been since 2010! Need more Nemmy and Blivvy night time goodness! Also possibly going to Tulleys with Sheepie, it's only down the road from me Not been for years, last time I went they only had Creepy Cottage and the hayride

    The Smiler

Let's hope it doesn't get washed away again
  12. Sure thing, it makes sense, will be easier and means we won't have to try and get hold of each other to try and find out where everyone is etc if we had to go seperate and got split up. Although if what Marc said about the poor throughput and hour long queue is true (along with the reviews I have read about it not seeming *that* great), I may give it a miss and just do some rides instead, we shall see, just not sure I can justify paying for a maze, queueing for an hour only to find its just Hellgate with a bag you can see through But yeah, those that are doing it book in one go if possible
  13. I shall be coming as a shipping container. Everyone's worst nightmare
  14. I just edited my post and now its disappeared? Don't tell me its been deleted...there was nothing wrong with it
  15. I don't really wish to get any more involved with this but something to bear in mind here is: it seems the people who "have an issue" are the ones that are chat regulars and therefore have to put up with TPW's constant spamming which occurs in there, as well as their general attitude (which got their original account banned let's not forget). Those that do not therefore don't see the issue and can't understand why some members are becoming frustrated with it all. I don't want to sound rude but tbh if they had a politer and less spammy approach to this, if they did not keep creating new accounts here (they've recently made a third one) and weren't previously banned then it would be easier to have a positive attitude towards it all.
  16. Oooh and I must thank Ben (and you I guess) for introducing me to M83 - for all the times in chat you spoke about them and at the time I was like "Meh ssh" but now I'm like
  17. Love it. I have run out of "Likes" for the day but I shall Like it as soon as I can. Thank you for introducing me to this awesome music And what a great blog! Two of my favourites are definitely Magic and There Is Still Hope, and I love Lost City too!
  18. I don't have an issue with these sites and having fun, but I do agree with what Liam said. And they've stolen members' photos from here without crediting them! Although the members affected will have to elaborate more on this.
  19. Interesting; because the OP of this thread has said in chat that their real name is Mark... Mercule Poirot is on the case!
  20. Yes! I really despise that cramped feeling and the way it feels as though Thorpe just plonked it there accidentally (similar to when you accidentally put a coaster in the wrong place in RCT). And when you walk between SS and the Megastore, stupidly cramped! And the amount it leaks now is just hilarious. Well it was hilarious anyway but yeah Oh and let's not forget the sexy squeaky noises! The only thing that was any fun was the boats spinning but they don't even do that anymore. Not been on it once this year and I don't miss it!
  21. Awwww Liam! I've really enjoyed reading this trip report and I'm glad you finally made it down and had such a great time! It really was an awesome day, apart from the busy-ness, the weather was great, Liam managed most of the rides and what a lovely group of people! Liam, you're adorable! It's a real shame some others who were looking to go couldn't make it, but we did as promised and shouted out Sidders' name from the top of Inferno, and I brought a Curly Wurly with me to represent Ben It was lovely to finally meet the trolley dolly himself, after months of planning this trip and a few set backs. Liam Tolson DOES exist in real life and DID make it to Thorpe! It was quite amusing when waiting on the bridge for him - it seemed to take him forever to get across the car park and at one point I thought I saw him, but knew something wasn't quite right...turned out it wasn't him but a manlier, scarier, bearded version! It was also great seeing (well, mostly hearing!) Liam's reactions to the park and the rides; to start with, there was the look on his face and the famous "Oh my gawwd!" as we stepped out the Dome and he took in the view, along with "I'm actually here!" Bless! Then as we were heading over to Swarm he was rather shocked to see a plane flying so near! Whilst I'm mentioning Swarm - love the new theming additions but was a shame that the helicopter blades wern't turning, the fire engine water I don't recall seeing and we didn't see the fire, it's a shame it doesn't go off more regularly. We did hear it however from the queue and smelt the gas. Also I think the ORPs may have had an issue, I don't think it was the bagroom, as after we came off, we got our stuff back moreorless straight away. And I'm not sure I even saw the camera flash, real shame! The other highlights from the day: The woman losing her young son's shoe in the Tidal Wave pool! Watching it bob around hopelessly and her trying to fish it out! Liam's reaction on Stealth, especialy at the top (sounded like FERKINGERRRRRRLL!") The Stealth ORPs consisting of my hand covering Liam's face...and then Luke's hand covering my face! Sorry Liam! I didn't think my little arms and hands would get in your way! Liam wanting to get out some tea on Rumba and his reaction in the tunnel: "Ooh that's pretty, Christmas lights!" oh and at the end: "Oh, is that it?" Colossus! I had the privelage of sitting next to Liam on this and his reaction at the start to how cramped it is, along with in the brake run "My hands!!" was just epic. Oh and during the inlines, "I don't like it, no more!" Getting drenched from Tidal Wave. First we stood on the bridge, and it was here where I was reminded what a great ride this is and how much I love the interaction. Standing there, watching the boat plummet down the drop and then seeing that huge wave flying towards you, and waiting... This was a great laugh but we wanted more wetness so we hovered by the soak zone before going to the infamous exit path...we were well and truely soaked after that! The shoutout on Flying Fish! I did ask the Rush op but he forgot, but it turned out Fish was a great idea; as Liam mentioned, some kids in the batching area shouted out "Trolley Dolly"! as we went through the station! And just the general awesomeness of the group, as Liam mentioned in greater detail. Was lovely to meet Liam and see everyone else again! It was also nice having a meal and some laughs afterward with Marc, Tinie and Sheepie, real shame not everyone else from the day could be there! Awesome pina colada times were had in Frankie & Benny's! Then me and Sheepie had a rather entertaining train ride back to Clapham due to a group of drunk people climbing into the luggage racks and planking between each side! As Liam mentioned, I did feel ill towards the end. I sometimes have this thing happen at theme parks (and it doesan't happen at other times so it's not a health issue or anything) where after eating, I get a huge, bloated stomach (looks like I'm a few months pregnant!) and it hurts my back as it bloats so much (even worse if I have a heavy bag, which I did on this occassion), along with a sickey feeling, which is only made better/eases off by sitting down. Apologies in advance for what I'm about to say but quite often it's relieved by burping and/or going to the toilet. Y'all know what I mean! LOL! But on this occassion, I didn't need to go and I wasn't needing to burp...and then I wanted a drink. I was so close to buying water and it really would have been the most sensible option but a silly voice in my head told me to buy Fanta as the fizziness might help me burp/relieve the sicky feeling. Wrong, I think it was this that made it worse than usual; not long after drinking some of the Fanta I got that feeling inside my mouth like I was going to be sick and there was this tightness/stinging rising up, I was sort of struggling to breath! I was actually nearly sick at one point! I don't think it's good to eat a lot at theme parks to be honest, unless you sit down and let your food digest properly - which is pretty hard to do at Thorpe, especially now CCR has gone (and we'd already done Rumba) - walking around, rides, and even standing in queues can't be good if you've eaten a lot! And I was very full after my piri piri ciabatta and chips at Bar 360! So from now on I think I'll have to eat less in one go; bit of a pain as it means I'd probably have to buy food twice if I was hungry agaub later and possibly spend more money than just buying one meal but hey, if it means I avoid this then I can't really complain. However, after sitting in a comfy chair in the Dome at the end whilst waiting for Peter and his friends, I did *eventually, after it coming and going* feel back to normal, and like I said, managed Frankie & Benny's later! Anyway, back to the positive notes! I will leave you with a photo of happy, contented Liam in the Inferno test seat, followed by a link to rest of the album on Photobucket (Facebook really lowers the quality!) Oh and the ones of Inferno were taken on Marc, but on my camera. http://s100.photobuc...lly Goes South/ Thank you for such an enjoyable day, I needed it!
