  1. Can't see it being ready for my viist next Wednesday 11th if they haven't even got the disabled queue in yet - but I might be wrong... fingers crossed.
  2. Could be on site filming some promo perhaps.
  3. Trying to cash in on any bit of media exposure whatsoever... course not. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3535290/Alton-Towers-crash-survivor-Vicky-Balch-reveals-bizarre-Tinder-messages.html
  4. To avoid having a step and/or for disabled access I guess?
  5. He (or she) is everything I aspire to be but never will be. I am slightly hopeful that I'll be in luck for my 11th May visit but if not (which is probably the case from the sound of things) then meh, I'll ride when I go for MOS. I was sort of hoping it would open on time so I don't have to avoid spoilers for months on end
  6. To be honest with the silence of Jart for the last few weeks, we really should've seen this coming.
  7. Yep the scroller now says May 2016 - Date Coming Soon
  8. I do have a love/hate relationship with this forum at times If someone internally tells you something but says "you cannot post this anywhere" then you don't.... ANYWAY fingers crossed it isn't delayed, but I'd be very surprised if it opens on 6th May, heck, I'd even buy everyone a Nemesis Sub Terra Fastrack if it did.
  9. I pity the poor social media team for the next few weeks. I'd heard the sign had gone earlier today but couldn't post until someone confirmed it. You have to wonder for how long it's been known that the 6th May was never going to happen. Will Merlin ever learn about releasing opening dates too early? If they are still adding effects and theming to the queue with 10 days to opening you have to wonder what's going on inside.
  10. You would do wouldn't you with just 10 days left...
  11. I was just back tracking through old posts - a dark ride that got shelved.... hmmmm!
  12. Archive, your posts do make for depressing - but no doubt true - reading! It's certainly going to be an interesting next couple of years for Merlin parks. Slightly OT but to read in those posts that Sub Terra is unlikely to ever reopen - what an astonishing waste of money considering it would've been just 4 years old this year!
  13. Holy hell, the proverbial brown stuff would hit the fan if they removed it.

    Wicker Man

    I stand corrected.
  15. If I had a pound for every time I saw definitely typed as defiantly...
  16. That's a direct quote from the HSE so one would assume it is correct. Which would back up the reasoning why multi-carriage similar Merlin rides were taken out of service whilst new procedures were put in place after the accident.
  17. Am I allowed to say that 12p Ticket Draw winners are now definitely being contacted by email?
  18. Yes - midnight tonight - just like Thorpe said from the off - although perhaps to avoid confusion they could've said 23:59 on 19/04/16 instead of "midnight on 19th April" as you could interpret that two ways
  19. Keep an eye on our inboxes chaps and chapesses, the lucky 1000 people in the 12p draw will get their emails by midnight tomorrow night...
  20. That's grand! By the way, I'm no cynic, but I think the reactions in that CCTV footage are staged.
  21. It's times like these we need Jart to clarify things.
  22. Haha yes my first thoughts after watching were... "Coming Soon" The website still says 6th May though - I'd like to think that Merlin would be pretty quick at removing that otherwise people will be booking up thinking it will be open. Although that said - photos on FB yesterday on Thorpe's page clearly show the "Arriving 6th May" sign. If it's not open for the 6th, then the 11th would be grand, ta. And can I be the first to say there would be some sort of sick irony if the Ghost Train was "delayed".
  23. Yep Hollywood Studios has plenty of alcohol available, we went to a fully stocked 50s style bar - and there was a cocktail bar near Honey I Shrunk The Kids but that's now shut. A lot of the food stands have Corrs Light etc. if you want some refreshment. Tip for Animal Kingdom - there's a "proper" bar near where the Lion King show is - if you order from that bar, you have the whole service charge faffing about, whereas directly opposite there's normally a drinks cart where there's none of that aggro as you aren't sitting in a "bar"!
