  1. Just get new trains and solve the problems in one go.
  2. Probably only loading the front end to make sure it has enough momentum to make it through the sensors for lift 2 and final brakes. Was always amusing to have to run over to lift 2 and give it a push start.
  3. That when I hit the brake run I desperately want to ride it again. Of course there's other factors that could affect that (busy park/cred run so limited time), but I just want to come off and go "yes that was good". Granted my trips have been non-existent for a few years now, but Untamed was a great example of not being the tallest or fastest coaster I've ridden but coming off it with a sense of enjoyment and eagerness to ride it over and over again. Lost Gravity had a similar response though not as strong. Cedar Point after doing TTD was a pure adrenaline rush. However I came off a number of coasters there including Millennium Force with very little desire to re-ride them. Whether it be comparison to other coasters or just kinda falling flat. If I went super analytical I'd wager most at the top would be B&M Inverts. But the likes of Raptor down the bottom with a top 3 of Nemesis, Katun and Oz'Iris, all very different coasters to each other but ones I could ride over and over. Stats are meaningless if the actual ride is dull and doesn't have any wow factor. Which is why I'm dubious over Exodus.
  4. Was too hot, now it's too wet. Construction people for you.
  5. Fury can't run 8 cars and I believe hasn't since it first opened. Usually 6 or 7 cars. Target was approx 600-700pph. Doubt Tomb Blaster runs 5 trains either. Its shocking that a number of once fairly high throughput rides are so badly operated these days. Lot of this concerns me that when I visit I'm going to spend most of my time being far more annoyed than normal.
  6. So, no change from 2009 then? 😉
  7. Used to be 4 platformers, a Fastrack batcher and a RAP person (who usually ended up helping out platforming) for 3 trains. Not sure if the demand to work at parks is decent these days. But 3 train Vampire was absolutely great to work on, one of the few things I do miss about working at Chessie.
  8. Been over a decade without a 3rd train. Wouldn't be surprised if the constant stacking and change of focus on 'good' operations caused far more problems and they probably decided to cannibalise it.
  9. Flip Flop at Mingoland is far more sickly than say Loke or Maelstrom. Though being at Mingo is vomit inducing at the best of times.
  10. Lol not even an auction. https://shop.altontowers.com/products/duel-blaster Not much point as they've already sold out of them in less than 30 minutes, but they were going for £250! Easy money.
  11. Broken clocks tend to be right twice a day. Reference to spinning cars, well Mack are doing them on other rides. Could open in May? Well if not March for presumably the 2024 opening will likely be after Easter holidays as seems to be the new normal these days. Ergo May isn't exactly a difficult guess. Logical guessing with a side order of utter tosh that got old about a day after it started that none of the Mods can be bothered to do much about. Which leads me to presume it's something encouraged by the Mods in the name of engagement or they can't be bothered to do anything.

    Legoland

Correction. TWO new coasters as its duelling. However, I feel no one cares because its at Legoland. Which I agree with.
  13. Maybe next year they'll add goblins.
  14. Hard to keep track when they keep spouting the same nonsense marketing every time.
  15. I thought the "Future of Thrills" was DBGT? Maybe they'll just stick with Exodus at this rate.
  16. They pushed for young adults then realised they barely spend anything once on park. Sure next year it'll be back to themed areas again.
  17. TTD was far bigger a nightmare than Stealth ever has been. Stealth (to my knowledge) hasn't tried to maim those stood in the local vicinity. Then SBNO for over a year or so. Would take a lot for it to get such treatment, especially with the lack of available space for a reverse spike, transfer track and all other things it needs.
  18. So unique there's a ride at Grona Lund with the same name 😉 Would be weirdly on brand with Thorpe to push some Egyptian stylistic theme and promptly name the ride after a Greek myth instead.
  19. That's if they offer it during off peak. No idea if they do that currently for hotel guests but could potentially be something that gets cut when things are quieter and budgets don't stretch as far. People aren't staying at the hotel for ERT, but it was a nice benefit for doing so. Now anyone can come in for it so it's diluted that benefit. Plus if they stay off site the park lose out on additional costs of food and drink. End of the day it also furthers the depth in terms of how guests seem to be honestly treated as wallets for the park. Given the issues they've been having with many struggling to get reservations for Mandrill Mayhem, the park seem to be focused on the wrong issues and bringing in this scheme will likely add to it.
  20. Offering it at an "affordable" price is problematic, as what will happen if they get loads doing it? Also lessens the benefits of staying in the hotel. Why stay there when you can in theory save money, stay offsite then buy this? Maybe if the park had built a sensible new area and operated the park sensibly wouldn't need to even offer this to allow a number of guests to actually ride the first new coaster in nearly 20 years. Adds to the general class divide. Can rest assured a number of MAP holders who wear them proudly on lanyards will lap this up.
  21. Can't help but feel it's a bit too much on the nose and working exactly as wanted to get the enthusiasts community going a bit crazy over teases. I'd be annoyed that they'd bring the first RMC to the UK and almost waste it on an indoor attraction though. Especially when it feels that the project in general seems to be just a coaster in a box rather than taking the chance to completely redevelop the surrounding area.
  22. Pathetic. Honestly puts me off bothering with a trip.
  23. Mingo also has a more recent issue of removing seats off of things like Flip Flop and Pterodactyl, further reducing throughputs. Guess the caravan park been a bit quiet with the poor weather. But those throughputs are god awful no matter what way its spun as "only" 40 minutes. Would've been far less and a far higher ride count if things were run even slightly better, but sounds like maintenance wise there's a lot of issues with stuff breaking down often.
  24. Retheme Dodgems into a garage. Nice and easy job to fit into Amity. Unfortunately I think Thorpe are in a "there are no themed areas" mood under current management. Though it's hard to keep track of that these days. Angry Birds was a stupid cheap and desperate IP job that never fit into the park, whilst also ruining one of the best ride music on Det.
