  1. http://forum.maniahub.com/topic/11038-derren-brown-attraction-2016-theme-discussion/?p=222135 I don't know what else you were expecting?!
  2. This old speculation thread is now a bit big and messy. With some official announcements now made threads split between Theme discussion for speculation on the ride theme. Construction discussion for pictures of a half built shed and ride type speculation.
  3. With official announcements now made discussion on the theme and ride experience speculation continues here from the old speculation topic
  4. The current top story on BBC news is... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-34631694 Sadly a failed attempt, but good publicity none the less. I'm off to find some better evidence of this event to, er, fill my evening.
  5. Were you a-salted? They were probably delaying you to make sure you didn't ketchup with the group in front. Or maybe they just thought you were a bit of a pĀ®ickle.
  6. As has been mentioned, if anything a Derren Brown autonomon based attraction would pretty much confirm the airgates thing as the BS that it appeared to be from the off.
  7. True, but that little round up covers about three months. If you think of how many millions of rides were taken around the world it really is a very tiny percentage. Australia - Three hurt teens hurt falling from a ferris wheel. Seems that they were messing about, opened the door which then caught on the wheel frame and tipped them out. Squarely their own fault if correct. Australia (again) - No one hurt as empty carriage falls from operating Rok 'n' Roll. Owner optimistically calls it a 'minor malfunction' and reopens the ride! USA - Two girls hurt after slipping zipper restraints and rolling loose around the cage. They look tiny, wouldn't be surprised if they were under the height restriction USA - minor injuries to worker as wild mouse throws wheel and strands riders.
  8. The reason for the closure and the fact that it is event time are something of an irrelevance. It's not hard to see how the parks most recent and prominent ride being closed detracts from from a visit to Towers. Seems like a fair point to me in considering which event is overall the more enjoyable.
  9. Did they have their hands on each others shoulders? I'd imagine that with an event of this size the licence would stipulate that the park pay for a certain amount of police presence. That's not cheap!
  10. Not for the ABC leg restraints of death is it?!
  11. I mean one queue line. Mazes are one of the very few atractions I think would work with stand alone R&R.
  12. What he is, whether you actually like the sort of things he does or not, is a hell of a showman. His TV shows, and probably to an even greater extent his live shows, are incredibly cleverly and slickly produced, and often hinge on the tiniest details. They intelligent and fun and intricate and grand. All the things you want in a dark ride, basically! I've never seen him put his name to anything that isn't excellent. If he does have proper creative control of this, and I would think he would as his name is his brand and could be easily tainted, then I would expect something pretty excellent.
  13. ... it was Black Mass. Is really worth a watch when out comes out at the end of next month. A little slow in places, but very enjoyable and Depp is outstanding in it. Being based on a true story involving real crimes and murders of relatively recent times gives it a strange, voyeuristic feel. A lot of this was going on in my own lifetime and many of those involved are still alive today. Scarily, not all of them are still locked up!
  14. Am I right in thinking the Reserve and Ride dates which were planned for Frght Nights have been pulled? Fright Nights mazes are one of the few things I think the system is good for! If so, is that the last will see of this system in it's current guise do we think?
  15. I had to chose one or the other, and 'AlexanerCozAlexIsTaken' was too long. deliberatelymisunderstandingisfun
  16. Hopefully with one big investor on board it will give others the confidence to commit too.

But it's already shut, so nothing to gain.
  18. You need to work on your understanding of the word 'know'.
  19. It's screen unseen time again tonight, I get so excited for this idea. Tried to stay away from clues this time, got a few ideas but love not knowing what it'll be until it starts.
  20. Just post it you big ol' tease.
  21. I was thinking if they keep the theme of Saw The Ride (heavily expected) it wouldn't surprise me if Saw Alive was the only survivor from the Lionsgate line up if it's under the same licencing agreement.
  22. I've not had the 'pleasure' of one of those before, looks pretty dire though. If they actually moved on plates and could be spun like teacups that'll seem a pretty neat idea, but this very much doesn't.
  23. Fright Nights 2016 speculation discussion moved here!
  24. This topic may seem a little premature with this years event having barely just begun, but it seems it's possible next years Fright Nights event will see a complete overhaul if the Lionsgate contract is not renewed. So do you think we've seen the last of the current line-up? If so what will you miss and what will you be glad to see the back of? What do you expect or want to see at future Thorpe Halloween events? Could be an opportunity for some exciting changes...
