  1. It at the very least would be a point where your arse is higher than your head, and there are only two opportunities for that to be the case on that loop. The 'corkscrew 'in the middle does not in it self invert, so it is only the entry and exit points that can be considered potential inversions. It can not be three!
  2. It may be none, it may be one, it may be two. But it sure as hell ain't three! It looks to me like one inversion; on the way in it seems to twist to the top before it gets beyond vertical, but on the way out it twists upside down before diving out of it. As Josh said though, it seems to depend on the angle the photo has been taken from.

    Samurai

Where as I found Bling and Air pretty dull compared to a properly run topscan; they don't give as many variety of maneuvers. Often get a nice view from the top though!
  4. This was from a while ago, but I didn't notice it at the time and noticed it mentioned in a report of some new charges this week. Chessington was an ideal place for pedophiles to pick up children in the 90's, apparently. Been shocked and appalled by some of the people caught up in all this stuff, but always thought this guy was a slimy wrong-un.

    Injuries

Broke a leg slipping over in a field when I was a little kid. It looked so innocuous my parents refused to believe I'd really hurt myself so I hobbled around on it for a couple of days before they relented and took me up A&E to find I'd actually broken it. Got in a fight at school and punched someone so hard they fell backwards (probably the only time I've ever really punched anyone!) and as they fell they reached out and grabbed my little finger and didn't let go as they fell away, breaking it. That hurt more than the leg. Was chasing someone at work when my baton came out of its holder and fell under my foot while I was at full speed, turning my foot sideways. Damaged the ligaments in my ankle, looked like an elephants foot for a while and took ages to fix up. Hurt more than either of the broken bones!
  6. Oh come on. It was a little joke about the lacking quality (and posted attendance figures) of the parks, including Thorpe. Aimed at no one. Stop being a victim.
  7. I struggle to believe massive sections of the track would need actually replacing if it were not getting new layout or at least profiling?

    Scarefest

Well selling the tickets without it on their terms and conditions should land them in a spot of bother then. Poorly planned and marketed, like many things they do. Stupid stupid Merlin/Towers/whoever.

    Scarefest

Has the park even confirmed this? A quick look at the website seems to give no indication of an age limit right up to the point tickets are booked. There is a specific 'terms and conditions' section for scarefest and all that mentions is Lockdown being over 18 and strictly enforced, which is fair enough for what it is and the numbers involved, but nothing for the general mazes which would be unmanageable. I don't believe it would be true. Giving a suggested age is sensible, having an enforced limit is madness. It would actually open them up to criticism as when someone underage gets in, as they inevitably will, and goes of to the Mirror with their tale of horror it will be the parks fault, rather than the persons fault if it is just a guide age.
  10. ...Sorted. I presume that was the problem?!

    Doctor Who

I thought the first episode was terrible, the bit where The Dr portrayed an approximation of what a 50 year old man would think was 'cool' to a 12 year old was excruciating. Not caught this weeks one yet, hoping you are right and it picks up.

    The Smiler

Advised, not ordered. And on the basis that the patient was already dead, not that it was a 'health and safety' issue to rescue them. There's no need to take any undue risk to retrieve a dead body quickly, and the fire officer, having been on scene longest, was in a position to have made that call and his advice be considered. The whole of that story is 'Fireman makes controversial call on a man being deceased', maybe he was wrong, but that is another matter. Amazing reporting by the Fail as ever, twisting the story to make gullible people believe that health and safety has indeed gone mad. ...read 'I read the Daily Mail once'. Sorry, this is way off topic, but these nonsense sweeping statements wind me up.

    The Smiler

A little off topic, but that is utter rubbish. The number one priority for police and doctors is to save life and limb, they would never, ever prevent a medic do anything to achieve that. They would work with them to help them achieve that.
  14. If this were to be true, it could make sense that with X, Loggers and Slammer actually closing, that would make way for some big ass development which could necessitate Colossus having a year out for developments around it, it being surrounded by that space.

    The Smiler

Good work those people. We generally get left alone in the emergency services unless things go very wrong, it's just accepted we have to put ourselves in situations sometimes. It's only if something we do is dangerous by design or plan that it gets taken up; this is clearly a spare of the moment thing, the right thing, and it didn't put other people in danger.
  16. AMASSED is the only recognisable word I can see from that.

The park is open, The Smiler isn't...

    The Smiler

Is a thought, and one I've said previously I expect to be the case for good reason. But it is no certainty and shouldn't be stated as such.
  19. That sounds amazing. I've felt no reason to go to Drayton for a few years, this might change that!
  20. But who has been offended by the scales? You seem to have made that bit up. It's not about speaking up or being rude, it's about being plain stupid in your thought process.
  21. Oh yes, I'll wake up. I'd think Montu then, unless you want to count Dragon Challenge as a single ride!
  22. Dragon Khan? B&M, a brief history: Started amazing, got a bit safe and samey for a long while, have started to move forward again.
  23. Right, couple of posts adding nothing deleted. This is a Dragon Fury thread, posts about that please. If it relates to weight and ride operations then so be it, but this is not a thread about peoples weight issues in general. Thanks! Do continue...
