That parody is probably my best find to date!
  2. You have successfully avoided some of the things that have happened then! So congrats (Everything is in the past now though and we're back to good ol' TPM again.) But seriously, every forum has its shortcomings. That's just what you get when you have people from so many different backgrounds - people will clash over opinions, some will consider their opinion fact, etc. I doubt a forum will ever be a place where everyone gets along due to similar interests, purely because of the whole opinion thing. Age is also another thing to consider IMO. A young person may easily take offence to another member disagreeing with their opinion, and become upset and lash out because of it. The older member, having more life experience, will respond back in a polite, sensible way, but the younger member will not see this and just think the response is rude. I think people just need to wake up realise that opinion =/= fact. If more people are able to do that then forums would be a much nicer place. Things have got a lot better on this forum recently. The one thing that cannot be controlled no matter how hard people try is the outside-of-forum bitchiness, but that doesn't really have anything to do with the forums, although it can occasionally spill over. It's just life, I guess.
  3. We had already said yes before the date was confirmed!
  4. So back in January we were asked to send back our guarantor details in order to move into our new house. It's now the end of July and one of my housemates still hasn't bothered to do it, and we've been told we can't move in until he sends them in. The problem is at least half of us were planning to move in on August 1st, and it now looks like we won't be able to. Peed off is an understatement.
  5. Oh I am definitely not a morning lover! Brittany Ferries just love having crossings at stupid times in the morning
  6. 7am isn't early! If I got to start work at 7am I'd cheer. I was happy last week when I got to start at 6:15am because that is a late start. This Saturday I start work at 5am, so all of you moaning about an early start can shush
  7. Just to put this out there... 25th is the Stealth photoshoot meet, so anyone attending that is unlikely to be home in time for the quiz (or too tired to take part). Of course they can PM you but just letting you know chat may be quite empty
  8. Banned for being clumsy
  9. YES! After having watched Despicable Me 2 and being a little disappointed in it (it was good, but had nothing on the first), I was a little worried Monsters University would fall into the sequel trap of being poor in comparison to the original. However, I was completely wrong! I thoroughly enjoyed it, and yes the characters are different to who they are in Monsters Inc., but in all honesty can anyone say that the person they were as a teenager they are still today? It was fantastic to give the characters a back story and to see how they developed into the monsters we adore in Inc. As a child Monsters Inc was one of my absolute favourite films and when the sequel announced I was super excited. I am so glad it lived up to my expectations.

    Jobs..

Wanting to quit because you are being bullied is completely different to wanting to quit because you don't like your hours/tasks. As far as I'm aware nobody said that if you were being bullied you should "grin and bare it" - of course you shouldn't in that case. But if it is a case of doing a job you hate purely based on what TASKS you are required to do or be homeless/have to go on benefits because you have quit your job without finding something else, I know what I would do. Even if you hate your job you can still look for another without quitting first. That by far is the most sensible solution, unless you are of course being bullied or driven to self harming and other more serious affects of depression.
  12. Aww Han! I too am so glad you didn't disappear - TPM wouldn't be the same without you! You are by fun one of the funniest people I have ever met (even if sometimes that is down to you acting like an idiot ). I am really glad that you have been able to begin combating a few of your fears (mostly the anxiety, really) - I realise that can be super difficult. You are definitely a valued member here, and as far as I'm aware everyone likes you! So who cares if you jump in puddles from time to time and go a bit crazy (you've met Ian, right? ) - it's the best way to be!
  13. pluk, to the right of the page underneath the birthdays and everything is a section named "Recent Blog Entries". That section only shows the 5 most recent entries.

    Jobs..

I swear minimum wage is £6 something? Although if they are under 16 it might be different. I get £8.37 an hour but I do some really unsociable hours (starts as early as 5am and finishes as late as 11:30pm). I'm contracted to do a minimum of 20 hours a week but one part timer and one full timer have quit, another full timer is leaving at the end of the month and the sailings are becoming a lot busier due to school holiday. All this means pretty much all the part timers are now getting more than 20 hours - next week I have 26.5!

£3.33 an hour? Pretty sure that's illegal...
  16. Oh cool! Southsea is just a nicer area really, plus it's nearer the seafront
  17. When I'm in my own clothes the heat is fine, but when I have to wear my work uniform it's unbearable. That coupled with a 2 mile walk to and from work, to then sit in a stuffy, boiling kiosk to check in cars, it just too much. Speaking of work, one of my colleagues is so rude! They bark orders at me (keep in mind they do the exact same job as me, they're not a supervisor or anything), hover over me and tell me what to do as if I'm stupid, and if we're in the terminal and I'm checking some passengers in they will start essentially doing my job for me (giving them a map of the ship & their boarding cards, explaining the cards and what time boarding starts, etc.) It's actually infuriating. I'm not the only one who has a problem with this colleague, many others do too!
  18. Got my rota for next week earlier today and it turns out that Thursday is one of my days off! So I can officially confirm my place
  19. I will hopefully be there - if I do have to work that day then it'll hopefully be a late shift. If not I will try and swap it with a colleague
  20. Yes, that's the one! I have managed to bag myself a pretty nice house for next year too. I'm living with 7 of my friends - one has an ensuite but we're making him pay more towards the rent for that luxury My rent is going to be £335pm not including bills, but all the rooms have double beds and I'm in Southsea (which is MUCH nicer than Fratton) so I can't complain
  21. One of my best friends goes to Imperial! I can't for the life of me remember what his halls were called, but they were the ones right next to the gym. They cost him a fortune even though they are some of the cheapest (I believe), and they are shared bathroom facilities. In comparison, I paid £93 a week for my halls, and that included ensuite facilities and one meal a day cooked for me (although they weren't the nicest meals in the world). Good luck, hopefully you will get in! My friend loves it there so I'm sure you will too
  22. Am fine for both dates (as is Ian). Only thing is we (+ Marc) are flying out to PortAventura on the 8th so if it's that weekend we won't be able to do all of the Sunday
  23. Why was she even allowed on that in the first place? She looked far too small to ride! Thank god she didn't actually get injured. I guess now she has a cool story to tell the kids when she's older.
