That's annoying, but I can understand why as it does seem a lot quieter than last year. Just hope Fright Nights won't be cut back until 9. It also says its closed on Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th of November? That was originally open till 5 as I was planning to go on the 8th It was open until 6 that weekend last year. EDIT: Josh beat me to it
  2. So that control box has now been completed and has a padlock on it. I originally thought it was a phone box but doubt it now seeing as it has the padlock on. I reckon they have to restart the ride there, so that the track is checked before it's reset? (Picture from Towerstreet)

Interesting they're using both sides of the beach, my bet is that the smaller side will be an uncover queue line and then the bigger side will be the actual maze unless the mazes carries on underneath that bride. Could even be that 1 of them is the mirror maze and it's separate to the main maze? I'm really looking forward to this maze, I loved Carnival of screams and the 5/5 scare rating hints to me there will be something different in there as well.
  4. Apparently 45 minutes is low demand...
  5. I agree with LC, no one knows about it. None of my family know about it for example, and I wouldn't know about it if I wasn't on here. Yes there may be plenty of advertising in London, but it's the sort of attraction people will want to book before they go to London. Like said, if people decide on the day they want to do it, they have to book a timeslot which may be inconvenient for people and therefore decide to do something else instead.

Hopefully soon. Don't know why they haven't done it earlier, as I constantly see people asking over facebook/twitter. Wonder what the pricing is going to be for standard annual pass holders this year, as last year it was £10 is you booked it on October. So far I have only seen them mention £5 when people have asked. Personally I think £10 is too much for an annual pass holder.

I really don't see the problem. Hardly anyone is going to go on them rides before 12 on a quiet day anyway. I have more of a problem with Thorpe opening rides at 11 during weekends and the Summer Holidays.

Nothing to do with the new Giraffes as like you said it's been opening at 12 all week. It just opens later to cut costs when it's quiet, which is the reason other rides open later as well.
  9. It seems very consistent whenever I'm there, more so than other rides like the Swarm. I think every so often (maybe every hour) it stops for a few minutes and then comes back on. I remember once when I right next to the vent effect on the Volcano and it suddenly stopped, but by the time I was on the ride it was on. Could explain why it wasn't on when you rode it?
  10. Was back on when I went last Saturday too. Seemed better as well as mist was overflowing out the tunnel. It makes such a big difference when the mist is on
  11. Used to visit Legoland and Chessington yearly from a very young age, and visited DLP twice which I can't really remember. Always really enjoyed visiting them, and I remember stuffing tissues in my shoes so I was tall enough for rattlesnake I visited Thorpe for the first time in 2011 and loved it, and ended up getting my first MAP in 2012, so I'd say Thorpe was the main park which really got me into rides, although Chessington did from a young age.
  12. Rattlesnake is still closed due to the Smiler incident. No one knows when it will re-open, but staff have been seen being trained on it.

Can't quite make out what it is, but something has appeared at the exit of the BWP. Wonder what it is, can't really see the shed being rebuilt? Thanks to Thrill Nation for sending the photos!

Cage structure? Did you get any pictures? My personal favourite was Experiment 10, heard it was a lot better in 2011 than 2012 but I only did it in 2012. With the 2013/14 mazes, my favourite was MBV. In 2013 Cabin was very close to my favourite, if not joint with MBV but the 2 times I went on it in 2014 it seemed it went downhill. I loved the Asylum, and thought Saw Alive was a lot better in 2014. I thought Studio 13 was awful but I only ever got 1 go on that so I can't really judge it.

I believe it's going to be a attraction which you will have to pay extra for and will be only be available after park hours. Still awaiting further information for this though.
  16. Photos from Chessington buzz, but construction has started.
  17. I originally thought it would re-open for next season but with all this happening now I think it could possibly open for scarefest?
  18. So according to TowersStreet track inspection has continued today on the Smiler, and there has been some new control panels installed around the ride. To me they look like Phone boxes which will connect to the operator? More photos on Towerstreet facebook page. When do people think it will re-open?
  19. X

Cal replied to Garyy's topic in The Past
It was specially made for Thorpe so it isn't available to download anywhere, thats the best recording I've found of it. I'm surprised it isn't in the current playlist for X, it suits it well.

Has the BWP hut at the end been rebuilt yet? If not, maybe it will have a chainsaw ending instead? Seeing as Studio 13 will no longer have a chainsaw ending, I'm hoping 1 of the mazes will have it. Some of the endings are disappointing at the moment, MBV for example you just walk out...
  21. Cal replied to spoon's topic in The Past
No one knows more information on it yet as nothing has been officially released from the park, more information is likely to be revealed very soon.

Nope, this was the music played in 2013...

I hope we will get new audio/announcements now that the director has gone, some of the old fright nights music sound really good. I also hope my bloody valentines queue line audio will also get replaced, as listening to a 60 second loop for over an hour gets on your nerves.
  24. Cal replied to Ryan's topic in General Discussion
Fair enough. But if there is no queue to the merge point surely the member of staff should close the fast track queue and let people with fast track use the ride exit instead like I've seen on many quiet days. Or like Josh said, not take the Fast track ticket off them and just tell them the queue length is the same. I'm sure Fast track units or guest services would be fine swapping it for another ride with a queue, or even a refund.
  25. Saturday 29th August One of the best days I've had at Thorpe. Was there from 9:30 till 7:30. Colossus opened on 1 train and the second got added around 1. X was on 3, Saw was on 8 and everything else was opened on 2. Stealth opened around 1 as they were doing stuff to the launch breaks all morning but everything else opened when it was meant to, and the only thing I saw breakdown was Swarm at 5ish. Although I wanted to go to Summer Nights I couldn't so originally planned to be picked up at 6, but was getting picked up slightly later so bought a £5 annual pass ticket. Even though I was only there for an hour and a half of Summer Nights it was still so worth it, wish I could've stayed for the whole event but I probably will next year. Ride count: Stealth x8 X x5 Inferno x4 Swarm x4 Saw x4 Slammer x4 Detty x4 Colossus x3 Rush x3 Vortex x2 Fish x1 Storm Surge x1 IAC x1 Dodgems x1 Rocky x1 Zodiac x1 Loggers x1 Rumba x1 Total: 49! Pros: -Finally got on Slammer this season It didn't close all day and the staff were great, best operations I have seen on it. -I expected the park to be a lot busier. -Had a very good run on IAC, our actor was great. -Vortex single rider queue was very useful, no one knew it existed. The staff didn't expect it either, they just asked me if I had fast track or an exit pass. -They've done a lot of work on WC16 since a month ago -Operations were amazing, and all the staff were very friendly. -Saw was very smooth and seemed more forceful. -Swarm seemed very forceful, I'm liking it more and more each time I go. -7 re-rides on Stealth at Summer Nights, op was very funny and the staff were great, they made effort to send out the trains quick even when they weren't full. -Met union J and sat behind them on Stealth -X was running 3 trains at Summer Nights and had a train to ourselves Cons: -No early ride time again. -Pop music at the entrance. Theres either pop music or nothing, what happened to the entrance music? -Rush wasn't running well. It was very out of time all day, and 1 swing was going a lot higher than the other. -Still areas in the park with no audio, and some playing audio very quietly.
