  1. I normally find the staff really friendly, but they just weren't Yeah that is strange, it makes such a difference without the music though especially on Quantum. The Swarm did have long periods of downtime throughout the day so all the effects were probably off as they never got reset after it went down?
  2. The fast track sign is back up now. I'm not sure if fast tracks were being sold but I know they accept priority passes. There was constantly people in the Fast track queue, and like said half of every group was being used for Fast track/disabled when I was there.
  3. Wednesday 29th July Rides closed all day: Slammer , Samurai Rides that opened at 11ish: Saw, Stealth, Loggers, Rocky express, Angry birds 4d, Dodgems, Quantum, Tidal Wave, Colossus also broke down at 10ish and reopened at 11ish. We got no early ride time as rides weren't ready, and the rides that were available at 9:30 was ridiculous. All coasters were on 2 trains, X was also back on 2 trains, and tidal was on 2 boats. Ride count: 36 Link: http://ridecount.com/browse/trip/15195 Pros: Park was pretty quiet, didn't expect to get re-rides in the Summer holiday All of Storm Surges effects were working!? Haven't seen them on since it opened. Dettys speakers have been repositioned and was playing very loud so you can hear the count down at the top. Created a very good atmosphere around the ride as well. Vortex running very well again and music back. They've done a lot of work on WC16 Angry birds 4d show time countdown was very useful, and is very accurate. Coke Freestyle was very cool, flavours I didn't know existed like Coke Orange? I made a mix of Coke, Fanta and Cloudy Lemonade which was actually very nice! Cons: Slammer was closed all day AGAIN. Was teasing me by testing all day No music on Rush, Quantum and Zodiac, Dodgems and no entrance music. Creates a dull atmosphere. None of the Swarms effects were on and no mist on Inferno. Very weird incident happened on IAC but that'll not be shared on here. Rush wasn't running well. It was very out of time all day, and 1 swing was going a lot higher than the other. Got stuck on Colossus Staff were very blunt/unfriendly compared to normal. Lots of breakdowns. Lots of rides opened late and no early ride time. Queue time boards were very inaccurate on most rides, and a few queue time boards weren't working/turned off. I know inaccurate queue time boards and selling fast tracks get brought up a lot, but I saw something yesterday which is completely unacceptable and I think should be brought up. Inferno was advertised as a 15 minute queue but the queue was empty and you could walk straight into the station. With the queue being empty there was still a member of staff standing at the merge point accepting fast tracks of people, so people that had paid for fast tracks were waiting the same amount of time as people in the main queue. Why on earth was this member of staff still accepting fast tracks knowing there wasn't a main queue annoys me. This sounds like a very negative report but all true and still had a good day
  4. So I went on I'm a celebrity again yesterday, first time I had been on it since April. It was a lot different, and a lot better as there were new challenges. The throughput however seemed even worse than last time, I counted a group of 10 every 6 minutes giving it a throughput of 100. With half being Fast track/disabled this meant the main queue had a throughput of 50 people an hour! The only thing I didn't really like was the fact that you only have 1 actor taking you round the whole time. It just means your experience every time changes every more than it already did. The actor we had yesterday was no were near as good as previous actors I've seen in there, and was putting no effort into it. A very strange incident also happened with our actor which ruined the experience. The people who I was with have emailed the park.
  5. So Slammer has been closed for the last 2 days now. It was testing pretty much all day today, staff said they weren't sure if it was going to open but didn't end up opening. Samurai is still sat there with no visible work going on. Today was the most amount of breakdowns I've seen in a long long time, and the amount of rides that opened at 11 today was ridiculous.

  9. Anyone know if the cargo net has been added back to the cyclone, or has it been taken out permanently?
  10. Just looked it up, it died on the 2nd of July at 2:36pm Swear it's actually spent more time closed than open this season?
  11. So the beach huts on Amity Beach are available to hire for £25. Bit of a strange idea if I'm honest? Can't see many people paying to hire a beach hut at a theme park? Will be interesting to see how they do. (Photos from Theme park POV facebook)
  12. Video of the new machine here - https://instagram.com/p/5PY3KqEgDA/?taken-by=thorpeparkofficial Looks good, and didn't realise you could fill up quenchers here as well, thats great.

  16. I hate how this is portrait, and it's not an amazing photo, but the mist just looks amazing in this photo Again, not an great photo but it looks so cool coming out the mist.
  17. It's the first time so no one knows really. I doubt it'll be busy though.
  18. So there is a treasure hunt going on between 10am-12am today to win tickets for tonights concert! You need to find a star and each star is worth 4 tickets. Clues are currently live on thorpes twitter - https://twitter.com/THORPEPARK
  19. Agreed. I noticed it wasn't played much last season either, one day the jungle noises were just playing, but every now and then the theme would cut in but then just stop after like 5 seconds and it went back to the jungle noises. Meh. The 2007 Samurai loading theme is dull, and the older Detonator theme is a lot better and creates a much better atmosphere to be honest. Wonder why they've done that.
  20. Summer nights has a limited amount of tickets sold so queues for the coasters will be minimal, previous years queues haven't been more than 10 minutes.
  21. Just watched videos, the cycle is no longer but the seats spin so much more Why is it they stop the seats from spinning at the funparks? To be honest it was running really well, it was being manual operated and later on when someone else was operating it we had a really long cycle, spinning loads but yeah I think it was just because I went on it after rock rage Yeah mine was advertised as europe's largest traveling funfair To be honest I'm not bothered about coasters at fairs, they'll never be as good as ones we get at theme parks anyway I just find all the flats fun. I was surprised at how much I loved the sticky wall, it was soo good.

    Slammer

I haven't been on Slammer this year, but last year loading was a lot slower than what I have seen in previous years. They didn't batch people to the air gates while the ride was in operation. In previous years all the balancing was done while the ride was in operation as they batched people to the air gates, so that saved quite a bit of time. The staff just seemed generally slower, like once I was on the ride we had to wait a minute or two before they even locked the restraints. Again, I haven't been this year with it being in a new area now so I'm not sure how the loading has been this year.
  23. Yeah air looks really good, but I've heard mixed opinions about it. I'm hopefully going to winter wonderland this year for my first time, and I'm sure air will be there so I'll get my first go on it then That looks great, never been on or seen one of them before I went on a Booster in Turkey which was crazy, they just left it on for ages as there was no one there, and the seats span ridiculously. The only other booster I went on was the one at the Brighton pier, which was really dull compared to that aha. Agreed, but whenever I've seen wristband fairs they don't seem to have bigger rides like rock rage? Thats from my experience anyway.
  24. Haha yeah it's great value, especially seeing as rides like rock rage are £6-7 for 1 ride at winter wonderland I believe A 7 minute ride on the Waltzer and the multiple goes on the rotor did leave me feeling a bit sick after Yeah it was great to see rock rage in my home town, we always have rubbish fairs really, so I hadn't been on most of these rides before! The cycle on Rock rage was pretty short which is understandable and the seats were hardly spinning, so I would love a go at Winter Wonderland when it's running well! Still prefer Slammer but it's defiantly one of my favourite flats.
