  1. So the new Nitrogenie ice cream shop has opened now! (Photo from Alton Towers facebook page) A regular tub is £4.25, a cone is £4.50 and a large tub is £4.95 and there is no annual pass discount. It does seem pretty expensive, but it looks so nice! Will defiantly give it a try next time I'm there!

Just put in your old annual pass number, that's what I did for annual pass day 2014. As long as you have a valid annual pass and event ticket on the day they'll let you in
  3. I'd normally recommend going to Colossus then Saw, but seeing as Saw is closed it may be better to go for Stealth and Inferno first and get a couple of rides on them. Try and get there for 9:30 as they aim to get the gates open for then so you'll get on a few things without queueing. Try and make use of reserve and ride in the morning as well as not many people will know about it early, so queues will be minimal.
  4. Just come across this on Facebook - http://www.unilad.co.uk/articles/four-rides-shut-at-alton-towers-amid-more-chaos-for-the-park/ This is really starting to annoy me now. Daily I see negative publicity about Towers, which must be really hard for Towers.

Anyone know why Slammers been closed since Sunday? Has it been testing?

Yeah they will open it on 1 train, but if the demand is there they will try and add another train as soon as they can. If they predict it to be a busy weekday however, they will open it on 2 trains. I can only assume that there was something wrong with it at the moment? On the 22nd it reached 60 minutes, and yesterday (23rd) it reached 70 minutes. That length of time is clearly enough demand for a second train to be added.

Even if it has, theres no way the full queue would now be 85 minutes, from half an hour

Like said, I don't think it's a problem really, especially during the week. Rocky never gets a queue, Slammer struggles getting open before 11, can never get on Samurai as theres never 15 people in the area, Angry Birds 4d never has a queue, and the water rides aren't really a problem. The only one which I think may be a problem is Storm Surge, people are always on it and it always has a queue. I just hope it isn't the start of cost cutting at Thorpe, shorter opening hours etc...

Thanks Josh Recognise one of the actors in there from I'm a celebrity as well. She was great, always putting in 100% effort.

Nope. They haven't said why they no longer licence the old one.

They got rid of them because of cost cutting. Nemesis for example required an extra staff member to operate the single rider queue. It's a shame as it worked great on Nemesis, and was great for re rides.
  14. Cal replied to Dan9's topic in UK Attractions
Rita's and Nemesis' single rider queues got removed for this season, and I believe they haven't returned either.

    Has it returned now then?

  18. So according to TowerTimes and TowersStreet, Sub Terra reopened today after the recent design update. It now has new thigh restraints and a lower locking lap bar, and because of the new thigh restraints large numbers of guests can no longer ride it. They've also said there are no longer actors (which I think has been the case since the start of the season) and the throughput has gone downhill. Doesn't sound very good at all, but I can only assume this has been done for safety? EDIT: Just seen on Twitter that they are telling people it's closed tomorrow. Making changes again already?
  19. It was haha, and painful Luckily I only got 1 lap
  20. Think I went on the worst roller coaster I've ever been on today, it was this, but Monty Hammonds travelling one in Hastings.
  21. Cal replied to Phill's topic in General Discussion
    It reopened this morning
  22. Cal replied to Davi's topic in Quick Questions
It varies everyday. They aim to get every ride open by 10, there are no specific opening times for all the rides. They do however seem to get more rides open earlier on weekends.
  23. Cal replied to Mark9's topic in General Discussion
They aren't saying when it'll reopen, they are just saying until further notice. I doubt it'll be open for a while.
  24. I'm sure the bus pass thing will be fine. When I collected my annual pass earlier on this year, they didn't ask me for any form of ID.
