The only ride that I find rough at Alton Towers is RIta. The Smiler however I don't find rough, I only find the jolt at the end a bit rough.

I do normally find the back end less rough than the middle, but riding the front row was the first ever time I've not banged my head. The best experience I've ever had on Colossus.

Yeah I know, I noticed this on AP day. But on Wednesday it just felt even more smoother. Guess it was just because it was front row

Rode front row on Colossus for the first time this season, and I was shocked about how smooth it was. Not sure if they have just genuinely improved it somehow or it was just because we were front row but we didn't bang our head once. Yes the train was vibrating quite a bit but that doesn't bother me at all. Didn't ride it again that day as it was running 1 train, and wasn't up for waiting 80 minutes for it but it was certainly the best ride I have ever had on Colossus. I do feel Colossus is quite under rated by most people, I defiantly think it is the best coaster at the park. We weren't actually going to go on front row, but it broke down and everyone left, only 4 people were left in the station and no one was at front row, so we thought we might as well Glad I did now though.

I'm not really scared of a lot to be honest, but one thing I really hate is blood tests. It's not that it hurts, I know it doesn't hurt. It's just the feeling and thought of it. I hate it. Sounds stupid I know

The ride queue time app stated that the ride was closed this morning? But it is open now. Have no clue why it was closed or why the whole island was evacuated though?

Slammer was closed pretty much all day today, it opened at about 4:20 but had closed again between then and 4:50. The batching was dreadful of Wednesday, when people have said on here that it took 15 minutes to batch I thought there might have been a bit of an exaggeration, but it took that, if not more. There were 2 people in each console, 1 was coming out to check restraints and batch, and one was operating but they were still not batching while the ride was in operation. They waited until everyone had exited the ride. When they did batch, they just let the chain go, they didn't count people in each row meaning that once everyone was behind the air gates they had to count us a couple of times. Why they didn't count us in I have no idea. Once they had that sorted they waited about 2 minutes before opening the air gates and then we were waiting in our seats for another couple of minutes before they locked the restraints. They couldn't of checked the restraints any slower to be honest. When we were on the ride, we then got stopped numerous times after going up not even half way, one of the times was because staff not putting there thumbs up. After that they they needed to get us back behind the air gates and test it. Not sure why, probably because they had to stop it so many times Anyway what could of been a 5 minute ended up being a 20 minute+ wait which is a shame. I'm not sure if they have been told to wait a certain amount of time before they let guests on and lock the restraints or not? Hopefully the batching can improve though and if for whatever reason they have been told to wait a certain amount of time before loading, this problem can get resolved and they can continue with normal operation

Tidal wave opened again this after noon with a 100 minute queue. Glad it's finally re opened, but it's a shame it hasn't been open the last couple of days as the weather has been baking!

Thorpe Park have now snapchat. Follow 'thorpe-park' for pictures and videos live from the park. Interesting move, I wonder how many people will add them.
  18. It will be one of the busiest days on the season, Thorpe Park have posted on there website that they're expecting a high number of schools. I recommend getting there at 9:15 if you have AP or 9:30 if you have a normal ticket as you will get a lot of rides done before the schools come at 11. Also the park should start to die down at about 4:30ish. Have fun
  19. Oh yeah, then it must be definite. It's been updated since the last time I visited. It will most likely be really busy during these dates as it is in the holidays, so it will also be interesting to see how it works then, a long with a much wider range of attractions.
  20. The next trail dates are set to be in late august, but obviously this is not 100 percent yet. This is just to let people know if they wanted to go during this time or for people who are trying to avoid it. I'm going to try and get down during this time, never used the system and really want to give it a go!

That video of Slammer makes me want to ride it even more now! The music makes such a difference Very noticeable how it's taking longer to go up and down now though which is a shame. Nice channel, keep up the vids

I have never been to a Summer nights, but I wouldn't not want it to be really dead like Dean just explained. But then again, I wouldn't want it too busy. The maximum I'd like to wait realistically is 1/2 trains to be honest, as you are paying for no queues.

Slammer defiantly needs another batcher in order to get higher throughputs. They defiantly had another batcher last year who batched people while the ride was in operation?
  25. Cal replied to MarkC's topic in General Discussion
Wow that does sound really good, What are the queues like? Looking forward to trying it later on in the year! Never went to a Summers night last year
