ProjectLC- your arguments seem to be going in circles. If you're going to critisize something, ensure that 1- your arguments are valid, 2-you actually KNOW what you're talking about and 3- what you're saying is actually the truth and matches up and makes sense. Now I can see why so many people get annoyed when they critisize or complain about Merlin, as people like you try to find a fault in anything and everything, and, failing that, just start to talk a load of rubbish, essentially compiling a load of false information as you go. But, really, how can some rain triple your waiting time?

Thorpe Park Summer Nights Meet Saturday 2nd August 2014
paige replied to AJ 's topic in TPM 2014 Meets
In that case I'll be attending! Might stay for Summer Nights too should my mum be able to pick me up -
This whole baggage area/throughput issues seem to have came about only recently, I don't know if Thorpe have had any job cuts but I think they certainly need to review the amount of staff they have on X. Even though it's a small ride dropping bags off is a bit awkward. Mostly, I guess, due to the lack of space and light- with regards to getting bags into the right boxes and picking out the right ones afterwards etc. But I don't understand why Thorpe think it's okay or clever to put just one person in the baggage area when there's atleast two places which need to be attended to. Whether it saves them money and seems to be more or just as efficient theoretically or not, Thorpe shouldn't neglect things like this.

Well, Peaj does a head count for everyone as we're walking into a queue, so you could try that I guess. Also, ensure you know exactly who's coming and make sure they inform you if they're going to be late or delayed for whatever reason, so you can start the day and just meet them later. Also, if you aren't all travelling together, establish a meet point so everyone can find eachother at the start... it can be awful to start the day with a load of confusion etc. Oh, and make sure you ALL STICK TOGETHER... Nothing's worse than losing someone at a place like Thorpe, especially if it's busy! But yeah, have fun! I highlighted the key points in bold, mostly so I look like I know what I'm talking about.

Does anyone know if it's up again? On Sunday it was apparently due to open later but it never did. Not that I was complaining...

The blue banner seems to have shrunk for me aswell, whilst the orange ribbon at the top is, well, no longer orange?!

I think that the way the Thorpe Park Bus system works is that they're like every 10 minutes or something up to about a hour after closing, this may also be the case for Summer Nights aswell I believe.
-
Even if they were to work out a system which is similar to the things that rotates which banks, ticket offices etc. have between the two stations I think it could be a better system than the current one and it'd be a more efficient way of baggage collection.
-
They still told those without bags to pass through to the station, even though the area around the baggage area was clogged up pretty badly. They also said that if there's a group of us to allocate one person to go forward with all the bags, which was just more faffing about and caused more backlog IMO.
-
I still don't understand why the host didn't get us to pair up or something though, as there were a number of people behind us and we were taking the mic a bit really. The throughput was dreadful, that could've been the case for most of the trains that were dispatched. Guess that's the problem with an indoor ride with such an extensive indoor queue which is practically a maze and possibly the most confusing bag area ever with regards to the fact there's 2 of them.
-
The whole thing with the baggage was very awkward on Sunday. We were sort've standing at the baggage area at the entrance for a while only to discover it wasn't being used. There also seemed to be a bit of a backlog at the other one though and they were making various announcements telling groups to allocate one person to take the bags- unless it's a new thing they're trying to make things easier(?) Although, when I went back in April they were using the bagging area at the entrance. Albeit the park was considerably empty then so maybe the alternate it to correspond with how busy or quiet the park is.

You can all be banned for feeling the need to capitalise the word 'ban', we can spot the ban pun by ourselves!
-
Well I visited Thorpe yesterday, the cinema was okay, but I'm not really it's biggest fan.
-
Oreos! Custard creams are horrible! X or XNWO?
-
Banned because I'm bitter that my ban was unofficially extended by like an hour!

Okay I didn't know whether to post it here or in the meet feedback thread, but I guess here is more appropiate Basilcally, a few of us were talking on Skype yesterday about how it can be a struggle to get/arrange lifts if you can't get up to a meet easily- especially if you're a new member and this may be your first meet- and also how it can be hard to know who you can stay with if it's a long distance trip such as Towers. So I came up with an idea. What if the site were to have a section which had a list of people who require lifts, need to book a hotel and would like a few others to split the price with as it's a bit extortionate, or would like to go 2 for 1 with someone or something as they're not a MAP holder? It'd be a lot more efficient than spamming in the meet thread in the hope that someone who can help you sees. Also, if you were someone who could give someone else a lift for that particular meet, you could 'register' to be notified whenever someone states they need a lift. Someone in need of a room mate or someone to go 2 for 1 with could also be notified if someone states they need the same thing as you. You could even go as far as using people's locactions so they can be given 'suggestions' or 'people to look out for' to make thing quicker and easier. Just a thought

Banned for abusing your power and assuming I'm not brave enough... Not as if you're going to throw rocks at me or anything...

Banned because Peaj is about to ban you

Basically, Thorpe have tried and tested various ways to resolve everything that, theoretically speaking, could be wrong. Yet nothing has worked so far so Thorpe are still continuing to 'experiment' with different solutions to various theoretical possibilities with regards to what's causing the difference in swing heights. That probably was just more complicated actually, sorry.
-
Yes, swing A is the one closest to the operator room.

I believe seatbelts are also a way of reassuring guests who may have a bit of a 'trust issue' with restraints, as was the case with me for a few years.
