However, how do you enjoy a day out with friends if you have a disability? I think your maybe missing the point that not every disability is one visible etc, in the event of an evac the carers/friends are there to help with the evac etc. You simply cannot put a definition to what a carer should be or look like, as everyone is completely different in terms of needs and help needed and in most cases it will be friends and family that help out... be it in the case of panic attacks, mental health etc.  Some users of wristbands may seem completely normal to the bare eye, that could be there calm at that point due to the aid the system can bring. Some people can flip very quickly from seeming completely normal to hell breaking loose for example the stress, anxiety etc some people have with confined spaces large numbers of people in a small area. These are only examples I'm sure there are so many triggers for people.  If it means they get to enjoy a day out that they otherwise wouldn't be then I dont see an issue with the pass provided its used correctly

The diminishing customer experience is what made me decide to not renew this year. Wasn't an easy decision but enough is enough.

Glad to hear it's not a permanent thing. This is still a great swing ride and really packs a punch. Great childhood memories that's now helping to form my children's memories too.

It's just extended maintenance. The ride will be back soon. The supports were back on site yesterday

If fans have loved X so much, then the walking dead ride would have been placed between the swarm and the lakeview tent, as an enclosed roller coaster (Schwarzkopf Jumbo Jet model is my guess). And then X would have been kept for many years to come (even for the dance scene from the peanuts movie as a makeover). So what do you think of my opinion?

So things are still worse then the 2017 season but they've shown that it could be worse so now we're all okay with it even though we are still losing hours. Oh and 'flexible closing' has always been there, they just rarely ever act on it.

Sorry, but Timber Tug and Lumber Jump are not worthy subsititutes for X’s replacement. If Loggers Leap was to reopen the same year as this re-theme of X, this may all be manageable but no indication suggests this to be the case at the moment. So as things currently stand, the lineup for families is likely going to be reduced for 2018 and this is where the problem lies with me.

If this Walking Dead theme for X is going to result in a new height/age restriction imposed, what coasters are those between the 1m - 1.4m height bracket going to be left to ride in the park other than Flying Fish? Nothing. At least with Chessington and Alton Towers there is a wide variety of coasters which appeal to this market, as well as older audiences such as Vampire, Dragon’s Fury, Spinball, Runaway Mine Train, Thirteen and hopefully Wicker Man soon.

X might have spent the majority of it’s life so far since 1996 with a 1.4m height restriction, but I consider these last 4 years to be the better years of the ride since it finally stopped pretending to be an extreme thrill and started to welcome kids as young as 5 onto it at long last, whilst appealing to the young adults at the same time.

If it happens, why would the park want to reverse this decision and theme it on a horror TV show, other than to plaster an IP over it with another hyperbolic “world first” claim? It makes no sense other than for marketing reasons.

It was truly ahead of its time. As coaster enthusiasts we go all over the place to get on different rollercoasters to try new things. No ride this year has been as pleasurable or as intense as Nemesis last night. I'm genuinely surprised because I always knew it was a good ride (one of the best) but it surpassed itself.

I still don't get the hate.

    >People say Thorpe should include more kid/family rides.
    >Thorpe introduce such rides (admittedly on the cheap).
    >People complain that Thorpe introduce kid rides.

Yeah alright, they look a bit naff and out of place.  It's clear they've been added in very cheaply and as a side project to help keep the family side of things happy in the short term.

But Thorpe have introduced 2 0.9m attractions which are attractive to the younger market, and will help boost the 'things to do' quota for those people.  It hasn't happened instead of anything else, hasn't got in the way of future development, and causes no real harm to anyone.

I just don't understand the hate outside of 'they don't fit in with the brown-coloured area'?

Likewise, anyone who says that has clearly been manipulated by Billy and Jigsaw on Saw the Ride.

I'll always love Colossus, I just like its layout so much. I'd usually prioritise airtime over inversions but there's just such a good flow between the elements (and visually, it's very well designed, with the heartline rolls next to the path which leads to Saw and also the cobra roll which acts a great figurehead for the ride).

Although it has a similar focus to the Smiler, in my opinion, it's far superior. The Smiler feels like inversions for the sake of inversions, whereas Colossus' layout takes on a journey which really feels like you are covering ground.

Either way, I love Colossus and its age and ever growing rattle will never take away from it being a valued and enjoyable coaster. Saying that, however, some TLC wouldn't go a miss...

    Loggers?
Rumba and Storm Surge are way more worthy candidates to get demolished..
I would actually pay to see Storm Surge get demolished, So I can finally ride X without my eyes bleeding due to its colour scheme..
Plus Tidal is only really good for two months of the year, Loggers is probably the best out of the water rides..

To be fair to Herman, I can see the point being made. Both Ghost Train and The Smiler have ambient noises and effects before the main soundtrack kicks in which appear similar to each other, however once the main hook kicks in they are very different. Personally I love what IMA Score do so I would be happy.

Well, we had our "Bye bye Bubbleworks" Tour today.

I have to say, I was very impressed!

The guy playing professor burp was very funny, but most importantly (and somewhat suprising) he knew his stuff!
Right from the get-go, he made it clear that the tour would be talking about the ride as it used to be in 1990, before the 2006 refurb.
    And so he did.
He was very knowledgable, going into great detail about the history of the ride and about every room in the tour on how it was originally conceived by
John Wardley, and how it appeared in the final ride! And he wasn't reading from a script, he knew his stuff and seemed very genuine in his enthusiasm for the ride.
At every stage, he would talk about what used to be there in 1990, what animatronics were there, how they moved, the lines spoken by professor burp during the 4 encounters with him during the ride etc.
Then he would would point our what changed, and he too seemed to hate the imperial leather stuff! I was quite surprised, he knew the ride wasn't a patch on what it used to be.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it was worth the £28 for me (Merlin pass discount).

I know the VR image you see depends on where you are relative to the train carriage at certain points, for example during a certain scene if you lean forward and look up (let's call what you see 'scenery') the layers of scenery move relative to each other to make sure the angles are correct (so the parallax changes) in the manner of how when you move closer to the window of a car you can see higher up the buildings outside than you could it you were further away. I feel like I haven't explained this very well, but yeah, you're definitely not just watching one video, the perception will change if you move at certain points.

The ironic thing is, you say that 'rumours' is like clutching at straws yet you are spreading rumours yourself, in fact using one of the only companies widely known. In regards to you saying that expectations are low, I think you'll find that you are completely and utterly false. There is a difference between defending something until it's proven guilty and defending it for the sake of it, I am not sure why the attraction is delayed - so I am going to be mature and accept it could be for any number of reasons, not blindly go around accusing people of something I have little to no knowledge about. If something of a notable source comes forward and proves the delay is all to do with Merlin then I will happily say they should have tried harder.
Although what I don't get is why Merlin are the only company people have an issue with, even when attractions such as Disney haven't delivered an attraction on time in years, with their most recent being cancelled because they couldn't be bothered to fix it...
