To cut a long story short, I chopped a novel in half today.

Slammer should be preserved at (almost) all costs, it's a very unique ride (IMHO, I've never experienced another ride quiet like it).

I still don't understand why on earth they weren't advertising it when opening, focusing in on the worlds only tag line!

am gutted it's closed... was really looking forward to riding it in the dark in fright nights or last day of season

Afraid so Josh - I said "strong contender for most disappointing Fright Nights attraction", mostly because the stakes were that much higher for Big Top.
It promises so much from the outside, and the Park uses it so heavily in its promotion of the event, that there is quite a bit riding on it carrying the event... and it turned out to be unfinished / uninspired / understaffed. Alton's Carnival of Screams betters it in almost every way. Certainly a disappointment for me!

I agree about its potential, and there's nothing that can't be fixed - so I hope Thorpe does  .

Other contenders? 2012's The Passing was pretty bare ("a nice idea, mediocrely executed"), and Se7en lost its shine over time ("few scares here... very formulaic and predictable").

I think Thorpe's crowning moments came in the form of Asylum and Experiment 10 - both consistently excellent through their years of operation. I also had a soft spot for the Circus of Horrors' contributions to the event (in particular their Carnival of the Bizarre). Shame these attractions aren't with us any longer!

This was taken around 9:45am! The Advance Ticket queue was snaking all the way back to the Car Park  .

Saw someone earlier that was vaping so much I thought they were on fire. I like your idea and think we should email Thorpe this idea.

Mix your liquid up at 100% PG and you won't produce any 'smoke' at low voltage (up to 3.6v, or minimal smoke that most people won't even notice), I don't know if they still sell them but there used to be keyring size atomisers you can easily conceal in your hand.
Sorry for going OT, but I don't see the fuss either, vaping in a queue line is no more dangerous to other people than breathing in their direction, but I can kind of understand why it causes issues, unless you're a vaper for an everyday layman it's virtually impossible to tell the difference between smoke and vapour, people see 'smoke' and automatically think someone's smoking, plus the fag industries propaganda campaign against vaping just makes things worse as there is so much wrong information out there, it's also impossible to tell anybody they are wrong, simple solution to save hassle is just don't vape or take a small unit that doesn't produce 'smoke'.

It won't be finished on time, will include lots of blank spaces where theming should have been, will be largely a disappointment and will have massively oversold fastrack?
Sounds about right. Loads of clues there!

(I jest, of course. I'm sure it will be everything we've all dreamed of)

Bull**** seems to be the language of choice nowadays.
Our landlord has written to all the residents and said a company is going to install solar panels on the roof, as an incentive to agree to this to happen, we all get 'free electric' from the panels.
Guy turned up yesterday unannounced wanting to know who is joining the scheme and who isn't, so I asked him a few awkward questions, the bull**** meters went off the scale with some of the crap he was coming out with, even lied and said my two neighbours had agreed, I said funny, she just text me and she's in Croydon, oh not that neighbour, that one (pointing at the other flat) she said yes - oh really, I already know she's going to say no and she's not even in the Country, so if you talked to her just now, you can sure move fast.
Don't think I was very popular, he's coming back today with answers to my questions, I won't hold my breath.

Like spoilers for tv shows, I prefer not to know the full story until I walk into the attraction, I deliberately stayed clear of Shrek spoilers and am glad I did because if I'd have known about it in advance, it wouldn't have been so much fun going through the attraction.
Having said that, drip feeding info invariably leads to high expectations, which are rarely fulfilled in reality.
