Stuntman707 reacted to Marc in Logger's Leap
Dont think it’s that simple - think the park genuinely did want it to return, but were not able to to secure the budget for it to do so. A lot of people talk about how it’s been “left to rot” but in reality apart from a few overgrown trees it’s probably not in much worse state than it was on its last day of operation - just the modifications which it requires are deemed not worth it unfortunately.

Thorpe don't know who they are targeting, what direction to take the park in and has pretty much been abandoned for major new investments from Merlin after DBGT.

Stop wasting money on it and knock down the whole ride. Then put a real ghost train in the building.

Since Kraft changed the recipe I think peoples opinion of them are already changing for the worst.

Stuntman707 got a reaction from Coaster in Hyde Park Winter Wonderland
The Dr Archibald was another VR ride that felt like more of a demo. Not worth £9 a go. The best parts of it were actually the real world theming in the queue and the exit tunnel. To me its conclusive that no matter how good VR may be, it does not beat the immersion of real world, old fashioned theming, animatonics, smoke, lighting, sound effects & UV.

Yeah, there's not really much of a marketing campaign for Thorpe yet like Chessington and Towers. I have a feeling that Thorpe is going to focus on it's anniversary in a big way. Maybe have more throwback type stuff. They're certaintly targeting us as enthusiasts this year with the maintenance videos and old references. That's the problem with Thorpe though, it has an identity crisis.

Stuntman707 reacted to Project LC in Merlin Entertainments
Investors are starting to become worried that underwhelming economic performance is not due to current market conditions and is more to do with the quality of the attractions. In April when the latest financial data is released and another underwhelming year is revealed the share price will either fall or flatline. Investor predictions will most likely turn to sell and Varney will be under pressure to make changes or walk.
From what he has said in the past he doesn't like change and blames standard cycles in the economy. What I feel Varney has failed to take account of is that the current economic cycle has just past its peak and it is very unlikely they will be able to increase profits in the coming years with the eurozone heading towards recession.
With any luck the board will oust Varney and someone with a refreshed vision can take the reigns. You really have to question if one person can continue to come up with new ideas to drive forward the company for as long as Varney has been there. His current direction is suffocating the parks and I see issues on the horizon as major assets reach the end of there service life.

It's a bit of a slap in the face to Premium MAP holders. Making their second biggest customers pay extra for the privilege. That's power towers.

This sounds great, the best parks in Europe have roaming actors. I just hope Thorpe can make it work for the whole season.

My Meerkat runs out 2 days before ? But I'm going to renew it for £1 travel insurance after it runs out ? I've saved quite a bit with it before.

The steelwork was put in to stop the creature from escaping. The army came in and did all that. You see the General Public don't recognise the story, they just think it's a ride.

You can't judge performance on queue times. When I visited, the Big one had a longer queue as it was taking longer to dispatch. Icon was a shorter wait but the queue was moving way quicker.

If you don't vote, the results will be worse than Brexit. SO go on, vote.
