Right, so instead of endless topics asking us how busy the park is going to be, instead here is a rough guide to the kind of business the park/s should be expecting this season. It's not set in stone and remember business can be effected by weather, ride reliability, mount of trains/cars on the rollercoasters, amount of staff working on things, fastrack etc etc etc!10am - 5pm Weekday. Likely to be very empty, particularly in term time. Queue time should be minimal (Unless your name is Stealth and you have a stupid system where you can only load 4 in the first, 8 in the second and then you end up rolling back anyway etc etc) 10am-5pm Weekend. Will be emptyish, however likely to be long queues for Saw, Colossus, Stealth and Nemesis Inferno.10am-6pm. Busy but not so bad. Queues for the coasters could reach 45/60 minutes, whilst the rest of the flat rides should be a max of 30 minutes. June and July are when schools start rolling in, so between 11-3 the park will be very busy.9.30am-6pm. Should be busy. Queues for the coasters could reach 60/90 minutes and the rest of the rides queues will be between 20/40 minutes. Fastrack will be in operation.9.30-7pm. Expected to be busy. Queues should be similar to 9.30-6.00 close except the last hour should be quite empty.9.30-8.00 Again should be busy. At least you have a long day to get on quite a few rides. 10.00am-10.00pm Will be busy. Last year wasn't as bad as previously however if it ever hits peak capacity, queues will be up to 2 hours for the rollercoasters and between 45/90 minutes for the flat rides.Remember guys, read this guide to help if you beat the queues without wasting money on Fastrack. Also use the park well. Head to Stealth and Inferno instead of Saw and Colossus. Do rides whilst they look empty instead of following the majority of the crowds.

Sorry, but it is going to be insanely busy on the Thursday 19th.

On the Thorpe site... "

Advance Park Tickets for Thursday 19th July have now sold out!"

I'd expect 90 minute queues for the major coasters.

Sunday wasn't too busy, did all major rides. Going next thursday, day before the last day of term... school trips galore I'm guessing!!! Anyone know how big queues will be that day?

Actually.. do you think the Friday will be any less busy? As it will be the last day of term and I doubt schools would host a school trip then.. it might just be me trying to be hopeful but is it a possibility?

Does anybody have any trip reports from the past week? I'd be interested to know if the lousy weather has affected the number of people visiting the park :)

From what I've heard (and seen of the car park), it's been packed.

As a large amount of visitors will be on school trips which have been planned for a long time, the weather isn't going to put people off. I'd expect the rest of this week to be heaving. I dunno when schools break up, but presumably it's this week / next week; so there's bound to be a fair few school trips going on into next week.

Then, after that, it's summer!!!

Hopepro186: - Probably will be busy as it is the middle of the summer holidays, however, as it is a Tuesday, it will be slightly less busy than the weekend. Also, travelling to the park may be affected because of the Olympics. I'd suggest you look on Thorpe's website for directions as they have Olympic related diversions on there.

Ibwoody: - Probably will be averagely busy still as most schools don't go back until the Wednesday or Thursday of that week. Should be a little quieter than the end of August though.

How long do you think I will be queuing for more popular rides?

Hey there,

In your opinion, which Sunday do you think will be the quietest, Sunday 2nd September which is the last weekend of the school summer holidays, or Sunday 9th September which is the weekend after the schools have gone back?

Advice is much appreciated.

Just thought I'd point out, the park was surprisingly busy on Wednesday. It'll probably still be a few more days until we hit that 5 minute for everything queue time period.

I'm guessing a lot of schools don't go back until a bit later...

Probably not. Schools and colleges are back now so you'd only have Uni students and random visitors going. Add to that the weather is predicted to be pretty naff that day, you're looking at probably 15-20 mins wait for the most popular rides.

Just to let everybody know, I have literally just got back from Thorpe Park today (12/09/2012) and it was RAMMED! I've never been to Thorpe before and it to be so busy.

Colossus had a 90 minute queue, Saw had a 75 minute queue (Which then went up to 90 whilst in the queue) Nemesis Inferno had a 40 minute queue, as did the Swarm whilst Stealth had a 60 minute queue. It was ridiculous.

Only walk on rides was Loggers Leap, Mr Monkeys Banana Ride, Quantum, Zodiac and Rocky Express! Everything else had an oversized queue line.

Just to add, Samurai was closed for the day.
