Some clues are starting to come in about this year's HHN at Universal. Looks like a distinctly Vegas-inspired theme, which would tie with the rumoured debut of the long-hidden Lady Luck icon. The site intro reads, "Be careful what you wager... Because nobody beats the house."A house based on The Thing has also been announced, to tie in with Universal's upcoming prequel film.Halloween Horror Nights Official SiteIn somewhat related news, Evanna Lynch visited WWHP yesterday -_-Posted ImagePosted ImageNote her earring here! Thanks to OU for the pics here.Hmm, WDW has it's own topic... Perhaps UOR should too!

Ok it's not major, but always nice to see a new park being built... Especially when it's the first in it's country...

You know when you were 4 years out and you did dot to dot books, but instead of making something look smooth and natural it just looked horribly disjointed because you made each connection with really straight lines. My other thought was it looks like a really big helicopter has just attacked Rita. But anyway, it's good that people like it.

California Screamin' valleyed the other day...The reason? A bag dropped onto the train during the loop and naturally it caught the train as it fell and BAM... Valley...Want proof of even MORE stupidity? Here's an actual POV of the incident and someone dropping coins  EDIT - Video was removed by the user, but apparently has been reuploaded... So a quick search will probs find the stupidity...

A bag caused it to valley? Oh Intamin  In seriousness though, could have been a far worse incident (knowing Intamin) so I think a valley ain't to bad. I have a slight fear in my head that it may push Disney to have no bag rules on their upside rollercoasters.. lets hope not ey.

What exactly is Valleying?

When a rollercoaster doesn't have enough momentum to make it up a hill or through an inversion, it is usually caused by something taking potential energy out of the ride car, in the California Screamin' case this would have been the bag which got jammed under the car and slowed it down. It can also be a problem in early testing stages of roller coasters if they don't have the correct mix of Nylon and Polyurethane wheels which change the amount of friction between the track and wheel because they are different compounds, although this is quite a rare thing to happen. In the case of a valley on a rollercoaster, the train will keep moving backwards then forwards until it come to a complete stop in a valley.

I know it's in France, but why does Disneyland Paris get all the miserable people?http://connexionfrance.com/disneyland-paris-evacuated-unhappy-customer-bomb-hoax-arrested-police-fine-12901-view-article.html

DISNEYLAND visitors were evacuated from the park for an hour this weekend after an unhappy customer told staff he was carrying a bomb. The 57-year-old man was queuing in the rain with his family at the theme park near Paris when he made the remark.A Disneyland source told Le Parisien that the man had become angry and "did not want to sit on the ride because the seats were wet".The source added: "We took the necessary security measures. We cannot tolerate this sort of behaviour."The area was evacuated and police called to the scene. A sniffer dog found no sign of explosives. The man, who has no criminal past, spent Saturday night in police custody and was released yesterday after paying an undisclosed fine to the public prosecutor. He will appear in court at a later date and could be ordered to carry out community service or take a citizenship course.A representative from the Seine-et-Marne préfecture told Le Parisien that the remarks were "in bad taste, given the international context".The hoax came less than 24 hours after two attacks in Oslo killed more than 90 people.

The last line linking his action to the Oslo attacks is somewhat tenuous...

It wasn't a link... It was stating how his actions were very tasteless and very idiotic given the recent incident...Wonder if someone would pull this on Sea Dragons with wet seats...
