Lewis.
On my last visit me and the group of people I was in completely forgot about this, which is a shame because I loved it back in 2007
Dreamkitty
I went to Chessington today, I really liked the Hocus Pocus hall and the duration of it. What I liked best was that spinning tunnel it seemed so real!, the mirrors and the bit towards the end, I can't remember what it was though. The 3D effect was satisfactory but awesome in the bridge part. And its also great that there is no queues.
Kerfuffle
I'm being honest here. Hocus Pocus Hall is personally one of my favourites at Chessington. I mean, the combination of optical illusions, (love rotating tunnels ) 4D effects, humour, jump scares and a stunning soundtrack for a theme tune, REALLY let this attraction pack a punch! Don't believe me about the music? Well, just in case you change your mind... : Merry-go-girl
TPJames
I hope hocus pocus hall is better on Halloween, unlike you I find it really boring, not scary AT ALL and is just a boring walkthrough. Oh, and the line on the floor in the mirror maze completely ruins the whole point of the mirror maze! I hope chessie pull something off this Halloween and make it good! Kerfuffle
Oh, and the line on the floor in the mirror maze completely ruins the whole point of the mirror maze! ...and that's my only negative! TPJames
Merry-go-girl
How many people actually know about the line their first time though? Most people I talk to were clueless.
insider9150
It reopened today, has anyone been on it, what is it like?
Merry-go-girl
Did anybody happen to get any photos of the re-vamped HPH?
Benin
Weren't allowed to take photos inside unfortunately, especially when most of the time you had an actor with you so not even sneakily like... It looked fab though...
RetroIsBest
Went yesterday and noticed they still to repair the signage at the entrance, the kids have started calling it Hocus Porcus Hall now!! How long does it take to fix a letter?

How long does it take to fix a letter?Sorry, I was reading that a bit slowly! For a second I thought you said something like "The kids were responsible for the damage!" (...Well, that COULD have happened! )
Han30
Ah, the mirror mazes - first time I went in HPH I walked smack bang into a mirror - more than once. It wasn't until the TPM CWOA meet last year that I found out about the line on the floor The tunnel bit - really really effective but makes me feel a little bit sick! Gotta love the farting chair Kerfuffle

I went in one of the funhouses when I went to Winter Wonderland in December and actually shrieked at my own reflection, thinking it was someone else a few inches away from me! Coaster
Why do they have the line on the floor? It completely ruins the point of it being a mirror maze.
Merry-go-girl
Well, for starters most of the first time visitors don't even realise it's there, they're too busy getting confused by the mirrors. But mostly I'd say because a lot of children use the maze and there needs to be a degree of handholding provided. Think of it like armbands in the pool and stabilizers on bikes. And it also really saved my sexagenarian mother back in 2012.
SteveJ
It stays visible during a power cut or leads people in the correct direction during an evacuation.
Kerfuffle
It stays visible during a power cut or leads people in the correct direction during an evacuation. Too true! "FIRE IN THE BUILDING! GET OUT NOW!" (Meanwhile in the mirror maze) "What? FIRE? Must make a run for -" *BANG!* (Goblin appears behind the mirror accompanied by it's mischevous cackle) JoshC.
pluk
Although I've been in plenty of mirror mazes where the same safety system is in place but it isn't visible under normal opening conditions. It is a shame it is quite so obvious in Hocus Pocus.
Imagineer
What I found amusing about HPH's emergency stop button was that it cut the power to the CCTV. Surely those conditions it would be useful to see inside the attraction? I brought this up all the time and nothing was done about it. Coaster
The world has gone mad! Is it really worth ruining the attraction just in case there's a fire? Personally I'd hope there were procedures in place to stop such an event happening! On the subject of a powercut - send some staff in with torches! Benin
Is the attraction really 'ruined' because of a line in the mirror maze portion of it? I wouldn't be surprised if it was also there to help guide people to the exit for throughput reasons as well, but then again the whole attraction is poorly designed considering it has a fair amount of interactive stuff (well, kind of but not really), yet you have no time at all to really appreciate the stuff or be interactive with it... Shows how unimportant Chessie were to Tussauds really back then...

SteveJ
It is required by law to have such procedures in place in the case of emergency. It really isn't anything to care about.

There are tons of mirror mazes in parks without any form of line on the floor.

I'm pretty sure there aren't, but usually they are done in such a way that they are practically invisible until they are needed (ie, an evac) SteveJ
