March 19, 200916 yr comment_49240 Judging by the amount of testing currently being carried out, I would get that there is quite a good chance that Slammer might be up and running by the weekend. But as you said, no one knows. It could be tomorrow, it could be monday. Its looking more likley to open than Stealth.
March 19, 200916 yr comment_49247 Its looking more likley to open than Stealth. When Slammer first opened, I noticed that even if the park was crammed with people, the queue for Slammer would only be around 15 minutes, whereas Colossus was around 90 minutes. Why does anyone think this was?

Why does anyone think this was?Slammer has an excelent throughput and it is the only ride that some people are actually scared of.
March 19, 200916 yr comment_49262 About 10 people per day :lol:I think its probably 700ish? It may be able to take 48 people per go but it rarely seems to, and loading always takes an eternity. Thats my guestimate anyway.
March 20, 200916 yr comment_49272 ^It rarely takes 48 because the queue is just so low, lots of people are scared of Slammer.Which means its a great ride to just sit on for half the day!
March 20, 200916 yr comment_49279 Whilst operating Slammer, the hourly throuput was 550, which was very difficult to reach.
March 20, 200916 yr comment_49281 Wow, for the ride with the highest amount of seats in the park that is shockingly lower than I expected.
March 20, 200916 yr comment_49285 Sadly, it's a clumsy ride for attendants and guests alike. Try walking along those rows checking bars and dealing with guests who failed to listen to the ride op in saying 'lightly on your shoulders'. You unlock one of those bars and the entire ride want it done too. As soon as the ride starts it's cycle it's not long at all, even the raising and lowering of the boom doesn't take that long.Another point to remember, the ride does have to weighed out and guests 'chickening out' after you've balanced the ride in it's batching, can mean you have to go through the queue looking for the right amount of guests to replace, groups will never want to be split up.
April 14, 200916 yr comment_52664 slammer is down. I's a real shame, as it's one of, or possibly my favourite ride at thorpe AND I'm going on friday

April 14, 200916 yr comment_52675 slammer is only down because when I was there on sunday it broke down at a funny angle and hasent opened since :S
April 14, 200916 yr comment_52680 I'm sorry but ever since Slammer opened back in 2005, the problems have never come to an end. Open, then closed, then open again, then closed again. I do love Slammer, but I'm just getting sick of it all now to be honest. It's so unreliable.
April 14, 200916 yr comment_52686 I'm not so sureI'm 99.9% sure it wont open as Paul said and I think everyone agrees that it is so unreliable.
April 14, 200916 yr comment_52699 What is actually wrong with slammer? Is it because of the breakdown at an angle
April 14, 200916 yr comment_52704 A technical problem caused it to cease operation, when the problem has been rectified the ride will re-open simple. No one knows how long it will be before it reopens, if it requires a part it takes time for it to arrive from america then be fitted.
April 14, 200916 yr comment_52727 I just hope it's up and running by tomorrow! That's the next day the park's open isn't it?
