Theme Park bloke
Colossus was undergoing essential maintance this morning, which is why she opened late. The train that was on the lift was 'parked' there.I thought that was near the case, seeing as it was near the bottom. What do they do, hit the E-stop button?Colossus keeps cutting out thats is why train two was stuck on the lift earlier it wasnt for essential maintence its just that at the moment it keeps getting stuck on the lify hill all the time Now you've said that, I'm confused, was it stuck or parked? Then again, Colossus has got reputation for getting stuck on the hill over the years. So if they were doing essential maintance where was the other train, actually in the station? And if so, was it needed there for the maintenance? And why does Colossus keep on cutting out? It's music was blasting out royally.Sorry to ask a lot of Q's, but I just wanna find out and understand. themeparkmad
Is Colossus' train(s) still cutting out on the lift hill or has the problem been rectified?
Dan9
Is Colossus' train(s) still cutting out on the lift hill or has the problem been rectified? It was never a specific problem in the first place. On Sunday it was parked there for the maintenence. And trains for pretty much every coaster with a lift hill will always be getting stuck on theirs frequently. It's just something which happens and not much can be done to stop it.
Theme Park bloke
Is it something to do with the lift hill motor?

Dan9
Is Colossus still cutting out on the lift hill?It always will be. Every coaster witha chain lift hill always will be.
Kevin
I thought that was near the case, seeing as it was near the bottom. What do they do, hit the E-stop button?Lift stop - all coasters can stop on the lift if needed, just doesn't do much stopping and starting lifts all the time, Vampire causes trouble when Lift 2 stops and starts on 3 train operation. Dan9
Colossus cut out on the lift at about 4pm today Colossus stops on the lift hill nearly every day anyway.
Theme Park bloke
Does it put stress on the lift hill chain? I know it uses a ratchet-type system so it can't go back at all.
themeparkmad
I went to Thorpe Park yesterday and I did not see Colossus stop on the lift hill once!
Paul
I've never seen Colossus stuck on the lift hill. I think it's just been overhyped because of it happening slightly more frequently recently than before.
Sam P
I have seen it stuck on the lift hill quite a few time, when I went during FN last year it got stuck about 4 times.

Sam P
I saw the queue being evacuated 2 times at FN aswell but when they got the train running again and a few test runs the ride re-opened then about a hour later it got stuck again and the queue got evacuated. themeparkmad
After reading about all these things on what is wrong with Colossus; Colossus actually was fine all day yesterday and the queue was at 120 mins and went down to 15 mins. There were no queue evacuations on Colossus and no breakdowns on the lift hill etc.I have never seen a queue drop so quick and this was when SAW: The Ride was unavailable and had "Technical Difficulties".Either it is luck or my love for Colossus???? rossafc
I remember a few years ago it went down to walk on during the last hour, I rode it 8 or 9 times without getting off it!
Dan9
Just one month ago on a Sunday (may have been May 10th) Colossus was literally a walk on for the hour and a half or so. Only rode it twice though, otherwise I'm just riding straight into a headache .
rossafc
When I rode 8/9 times in a row I had the worst headache of my life! And we were sitting in the back car!
holtjammy16
On this ride I think people should sit at the front because it's so much better and smoother than sitting anywhere else, also you can see the head chopper better when you go under the shop (:
