January 25, 201114 yr comment_107493 Loggers Leap could kick this rides butt. However, this ride is still a nice enough attraction. It's wild, fun and it has a good personality.I am not as close with the rides at Chessington as I am with the rides at Thorpe. But I still know all the rides by their first names and they always seem happy to see me.As a log flume fan, I really enjoy this ride. it's very good. That's what I like about it. It's good.Good.

March 26, 201114 yr comment_111798 Minimum height: 1.20 metres CHANGES TO DRAGONS FALLS HEIGHT RESTRICTIONS As one of the UK’s leading theme parks we regularly review all of the safety and visitor information relating to all our rides – working with independent experts and the manufacturers. As part of our regular review process a decision has been taken to increase the height restrictions on our Dragon Falls ride to 1.2m. We understand that this may be disappointing for a small number of our younger/family visitors as this is a very popular ride, but hope that you bear with us and will enjoy the many other attractions in the Park. Anyone under 1.3 metres must be accompanied by an adult aged 16 or over. http://www.chessington.com/explore/mystic-east.aspxInteresting..
March 26, 201114 yr comment_111801 Health and Safety gone mad again. How many years (or decades) has Dragon Falls been at the park with it's previous height without any accidents? Seems crazy to me.
March 26, 201114 yr comment_111802 It's a Mack wide thing, like with the Huss pirate ships...Should be interesting...
March 26, 201114 yr comment_111804 Maybe the queues will actually be bearable now? In the summer last year they were strangely long, really long...
March 26, 201114 yr comment_111811 Oh my god, that is ridiculous... I wonder if any modifications could be done to return the height restriction to 0.9m.
March 26, 201114 yr comment_111815 Hmm, that's a bit of a hike!I can understand that there's sometimes some things that need to be changed and all that, but increasing it by 30cm!? Just ouch.Wonder if Loggers Leap will suffer a similar fate?
March 26, 201114 yr comment_111817 It's been said by a few that it's been implemented by the other parks - maybe chessie is saying this to guests? However, it hasn't changed at towers yet. Dunno about thorpe.
March 26, 201114 yr comment_111818 I've had a good comb of the internet especially ADIPS bulletins and there is nothing about it - the restriction has been briefed out but details will be released soon I think.

Just ouch.Wonder if Loggers Leap will suffer a similar fate? The thing is this restriction actually makes it in the ride stakes, more restrictive then Fury. That "if you are under 1.3 you must be accompanied by an adult" thing. If it does happens to Loggers, Thorpe are going to really struggle justifying it, at least Chessington has other family friendly rides...
March 27, 201114 yr comment_111838 It's a Mack wide thing, like with the Huss pirate ships...Should be interesting...Why hasn't this happened with Logger's Leap or The Flume then, I am pretty sure they are manufactured by Mack as well? And if it was Chessington's idea as it sounds like on the article/paragraph surely the other two parks would have followed suit.
March 27, 201114 yr comment_111839 I'm just passing on the info I found out on park yesterday... I don't know anything else...But, obviously something has happened in the past week, so maybe Chessie were the first to implement it like with Buccaneer, as didn't Blade come after?
March 27, 201114 yr comment_111845 Blade came the same day as Buccaneer - only difference is they closed buccy for at least a day before implementing it, whereas Blade was from the word go.
March 28, 201114 yr comment_111945 Europa Parks Log Flume is also 1.2 metres. Baring in mind though, it was 1.2 metres last year
March 28, 201114 yr comment_111965 As confirmed on the CWoAR FB page - Mack's official response is that it's been changed for 'security' reasons. So there you have it gentlemens!
March 28, 201114 yr comment_111979 Also this isn't the first time at any theme park that ride restrictions have changed, for example Rattlesnake was 1.2m when it opened.
March 29, 201114 yr comment_111991 But Rattlesnake's changed with obvious reason with some 1.2m kid or whatever height they were hurting themselves quite badly on it...This... Has a 'security' reason? That's a rather unambigious reason and want to go deeper into the rabbit hole to find out why only Chessie's is changing and not Thorpe's or Alton's... That's the main issue, neither of those two are changing, yet Chessie's is?
March 30, 201114 yr comment_112081 I felt sorry for the staff who were having to turn guests away who looked very disgruntled about it. I feel sorry for any kid who just reached the 0.9m limit. It makes little sense when Towers and Thorpe haven't changed their limits.
March 30, 201114 yr comment_112151 I have checked and:Europa-Park Tirol Log Flume increased its height restriction to 1.2m following the 2009 season. So it used to be lower.I am sure Alton Towers and Thorpe Park will alter in due course.
April 19, 201114 yr comment_113804 Thorpe have now changed the height restriction for Loggers to 1.2, also Storm Surge restriction has gone up (and Storm in a Tea Cup I think!)
