FireSt0rm
Umm, Saw is an awesome ride... I find Colossus is the ride that hurts me the most... The only problem with Saw is that its got a bit of a jolt at the bottom of the big drop :/ But other than that its amazing especially in the front! Yesterday it had to close for cleaning because someone threw up on the stairs exit, So that sucked a bit especially for us as we were the next people on D:
paige
SAW broke down this morning. Was stuck in the station for about ten minutes before they sent off two cars so we could be let out. God the restraints get uncomfortable. It was only down for about half an hour or 45 minutes tops though, haven't a clue what it was.
Kerfuffle
This reminds me of when I had my second time on SAW in 2009, I remember just as it was our turn to ride, it broke down...but at this point, the station lights turn off...and the main lights come on! (I'm sure at this time people would've quoted Vitruvius: "I see EVERYTHING!")
Project LC
Has saws 10 oclock break down returned? Last year every time I went saw would break down at 10 oclock exactly.
GladiatorFanKyle
No, like this Station, Billy, Hammers, Jolt, Jolt, Corkscrew Jolt, Evil Chipmunk laugh, Jolt, Drop, Pass out, Jolt, Scream, Spine rearangement, Jolt. compared to Colossus SAW is the smoothest ride ever. Honestly Colossus is the roughest thing ive ever been on
Kerfuffle
SAW's only smooth if you brace yourself - last time I went on it I wasnt holding on for the whole ride, so it was pretty damm rough
Project LC
Blue streak is the roughest ride ive ever been on. You can feel the car flex as it goes through the track and by the end your lungs are just powder. If you think saw or even Colossus is bad ride blue streak at cedar point. Benin
Always hard to compare rough wooden coasters to steel ones, but even so, Mean Streak, Coaster Express and Bandit make even Baco look smooth...
Ricky
You guys clearly haven't gone off road quad biking in the Egyptian deserts. Do that and then say SAW & Colossus is rough. I'm almost certain I fractured several spinal bones in that 45 minutes of quad-biking.
RubyRed95
SAW was broken down almost all day on Wednesday, not that I particularly minded tbh, its probably my least favourite coaster there. That's not to say its all bad, the theming is great and the inside section is awesome... its just rough and unreliable and tbh the outside section and the main drop are slightly underwhelming. I swear it was a lot better when it first opened. I find it to be more painful than Colossus, though perhaps that's because Colossus has more going on and is tbh overall better IMO and it distracts you from the pain Either way- NOT impressed with an all day break down! Kerfuffle
Something tells me those blades will only be spinning for half an hour at a time! (they stop spinning during a breakdown, giving the effect of it being part of the "trap")
GladiatorFanKyle
I was looking at some construction pics of SAW and the indoor drop is smaller than I thought! I thought it was huge! What is the actual height of the drop?
Coaster
It is very deceptive, but is overly steep which gives the effect of being much bigger. http://www.coasterforce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21843&start=
c1hrisin
Well by theory it goes from the first floor to the ground, so estimating the height of the building at about 60foot? (feel free to correct me) I'd say the drop is about 30-40 foot (about 10 meters). But the extremely steep drop and the use of the close up theming and strobes makes it seem so much more intense
Kerfuffle
It actually dives down into a trench in the ground, so the drop is just a little bigger than we think!
c1hrisin
Ive been looking at pictures of slightly later in construction, there is a trench there but the car does not go into it only part of the track and supports, hence why I said ground level EDIT: Take that back it does go slightly deeper, the picture I was looking gave a weird perceptive
Whatever
At about 2:00 today SAW had to be tested with empty cars. Me and my dad joined the throng of people going in as it reopened. We queued for an hour and a bit and when we were in the indoor section of the queue, the ride had technical difficulties. We had to wait for 15 minutes. Apparently one car was broken and they had to identify which one it was. When we went on it the hammer affect was not working, and some of the lights were on, so I could see the indoor drop. It was also the first time the body squirted water at us.
ashleyrose-66
SAW was closed all day today! Really disappointed.
Project LC
Saw did reopen in the late afternoon however it went straight to a 90 minute queue until closing.
ashleyrose-66
I must have left just before it opened!!
GladiatorFanKyle
Ive noticed on a lot of the saw cars restraints quite a few of them have tape wrapped around the top of the restraint. Why is this?
pognoi
Something to do with the extra padding I'd guess.
Kerfuffle
Shan't be long before Gerstlauer are called in for repairs!
TraX
Well the trench isn't that deep, but it still adds to it. That drop is actually the ONLY good thing about that ride. Those pictures remind me of when there was hope for that ride, and excitement of what they were planning for the indoor section (a whole load of missed opportunity as it turned out.) Did you know that one of the first cars to test, actually stalled after that drop and sat covered n the trench, covered in green tarp for ages! Project LC
So many better layouts could have been made instead of saw.
