EC!
Yes I agree but then there is a lot of trees for felling and tbh I don't think they'd be able to cut that many trees unless there was a purpose of something of actually felling them. J.S217
water coaster or is the elusive Towers Woodie
Coaster
It could always be supposed to look like laser marks, as it's around Duel. Or maybe trees that can/can't be removed?
Fred
Lol. It's trees that can't be removed (see other picture where LOADS of trees have gone). And that ghost is from the scarefest duel stuff they did. TowersNerd were taking the mickey when they posted this stuff y'know!! Coaster
The 2014 ERT lineup has been revealed as: - Nemesis - Oblivion - Runaway Mine Train - Duel - Blade - Marauders Mayhem - Heave Ho - Sharkbait Reef https://twitter.com/altontowers/status/438629520514379776/photo/1 JamminGamer, J.S217 and EC!

EC!
I thought it was th13teen that had ERT last year not blivvy, certainly did in june after Smiler opened when I went.
J.S217
last year September it was not
Benin
Was open for it in August, probs on and off then for some reason... Thirteen stopped at some point since it never could run with barely anyone going there (probs because everyone went to Smiler)...
J.S217
Yeah most likely
Kerfuffle
The 2014 ERT lineup has been revealed as: - Nemesis - Oblivion - Runaway Mine Train - Duel - Blade - Marauders Mayhem - Heave Ho - Sharkbait Reef https://twitter.com/altontowers/status/438629520514379776/photo/1 I could SERIOUSLY go for some ERT on The Smiler! AstroDan
Oblivion was removed from ERT for most of last season, but occasionally opened. As it was, Nemesis was the only thrill ride available for most of the year... Great to see Oblivion back on. Can nip on that at the start of the day and then join the throng for The Smiler!Hopefully they will still be employing the "entrance" for ERT next to Battle Galleons - I felt this worked much better than the awkward 'show your pass' procedure that was in place during 2012, anyway...! EC!
Well this happened... Alton Have taken the liberty to put a large black fence around this. Most think because of 'elf 'n' Safety.

Mark9
Health and safety gone mad! Does Health and safety go mad? Or is it the park knee jerking to some report it may have got somewhere along the line. A caution uneven step sign would have been more then adequate but for the park to just cordone it off with an ugly metal fence.. hmmm. MattyMoo
Maybe it's to stop the steps getting any more worn away? OldFarmerDean
Matt 236
This is just ridiculous, Merlin are ruining this picturesque park by more stupid over safety measures. This doesn't just mean magical views there, but also put more pointless limitations on to our attractiones.
Inferno
This sums up my opinion That looks pretty poor tbh. Thing is where does it stop? The lake is still open for morons to walk in to without looking - should that be fenced off too?
Benin
That pic actually shows WHY it's been fenced off, the state of the steps there are in no fit purpose for anyone to use that walkway because of the height difference between it and the path... That of course doesn't mean the fence is ugly as sin... Are Towers allowed to touch up things like this I wonder? Or is it just a case of a dire fence being cheaper than replacing the stonework? Ricky
I'm sure in a few years, they might 'renovate' & 'restore' the steps, although I'm not sure they are allowed to remove them and replace them?
J.S217
I can understand why they have done this in all honesty the steps have worn away, the concrete looks so worn away.
MattyMoo
Yep, I'm sure it's because the steps need to be protected from any further erosion... not the nicest fence put around them, mind you...

I recommend signing it. https://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/alton-towers-stop-ruining-the-landscape-of-this-beautiful-park#share Matt that isn't a monstrosity, its mildly ugly, but you can see the erosion of the steps itis quite dangerous sure, I liked walking on the thing, but it isnt the end of the world. Plus this is a monstrosity... I mean this is taking it too far... not a fence covering a eroded pathway. SteveJ
