^ha, gotta love Hellgate photos still being there.Quick question: does anyone know the order of what sin is in what room in Se7en? I can work out the obvious ones of Lust and Gluttony, but from there, I'm at a bit of a lost - which is the maze's only down point for me. :o

I can't remember the order in which they appear in the maze, but I can pick out some of the elements from the room and tell you which they are. The first room is Wrath, where you have to crouch down slightly, the room with the dentist chair is Pride, the room with magazine cut outs is Envy. There is a room with a tv, a couch, a chair and lots of litter- this is sloth. You've got Lust and Gluttony. The final room with the cage is Greed (for materialistic things I suppose).Might I add, Se7en was my favourite maze this year as I found it had the best actors of all of the mazes we experienced. I was impressed. Whilst not scary in terms of making you jump, this is a maze where the actors like to invade your personal space, with lots of touching.Also- I'd recommend saying the name of the sin you're supposed to be in. As soon as you do, the actor in that particular room... shall we say... likes to make a fuss of you!

Thanks for that! :)I must say that Se7en was my favourite maze last year, and has only just been knocked off by Experiment 10 this year. Also seems to have been taken up a notch, with actors taken people from the back of the conga line in the Pride room, sitting them in the dentist chair and keeping them until the next group comes. The girl that came along to the end of my group seemed to 'enjoy' the experience greatly.. :o

Oh my! A similar thing happened to me in Lust. The actor with the gimp mask on tried to tear me away from the group and wanted to put me inside the cage on the bed. Great direction there. Can definately tell there is a new creative team behind the event!

All the walls have the sins written on them, in the corridors between the rooms and by the entrance as you know, but after leaving the first room I seem to remember SLOTH being written in yellow capitals with a scratched effect on the wall which gave that one away for me... The rest are pretty unclear though :o

Went yesterday and had a pretty good time. The atmosphere wasn't quite as good as it was last year, there wasn't as much smoke, and the music was more heavy rather than atmospheric. Although I did appreciate the music from Saw in the Stealth queue since I love that song. That said. Experiment 10 makes up for it. By a long shot. I don't get too scared of mazes, (although I jump easily!) But when I was in experiment 10 I was genuinely scared. They clearly put alot of thought into it, and the theatrical values of it, Not just the acting, but with all the smoke and mirrors kind of tricks and top notch sequencing made it so worth it. In a way it makes me sad to think, that if they had done this kind of market research before this Saw Alive could have and should have been a maze like this, and it could have been a permanent attraction. The Asylum was top notch, I didn't get to go in last year, but it had changed from my last time in there 2 years ago. It was a lot longer and it was packed full of actors. Seven, well it was okay, not much had changed, I think our group was laughing most of the way through, the actors in there seemed far less interested in shock factor than the other mazes. And well, I went in a costume, I was a wolf dressed as a granny from little red riding hood, and well when we got to the lust room, the woman started shouting "OHHH GRANDMA! GRANDMA! What furry hands you have, I'd love to play with them!" and I think after that the group were too busy laughing to be scared anymore. That's not to say it was a bad thing, in a way it was refreshing to see they weren't focusing on scaring people so much, and more on an atmosphere. We went into the curse at about 9:15, and I counted a whole of 3 actors. It was awful. Now I don't know whether that was because it was late, and the queue was practically empty, but still it was a good 1-2 mins before we even saw anyone in there...As per usual ride ops etc got into the spirit of things, more than a few commented on the costume, through the PA. The roaming actors were great, you could see a swarm of people running away screaming every few minutes and you knew they were nearby. It's insane to think how this year started off so badly with the construction of Storm Surge, and yet its ending on such a high note with Experiment 10, and THE SWARM looming over the park.

I have just come back from fright nights and this is what I thought; The lack of park theme of any sorts was, I felt utterly disgraceful, a few nooses and some blooded metal drums were all but the parks attempt at Halloween decoration! Not even the rides! Now what is wrong with the staff putting out a few decorations! I understand why Thorpe Park doesn’t have pumpkins scattered around the park because of the clientele mostly associated with fright nights, however this is no excuse for not bothering! I have more decorations at my house! I sort of expected no decorations but I did expect smoke machines and the fire machines used around saw! However this was not to be found this year! I really could have gone into Thorpe Park without having a clue it was Halloween apart from the mazes! The music was changed however few and far between; it seemed to have half of the attractions with Halloween audio and the other half the normal audio! So it didn’t work, although I did like that they have got music for all the mazes this year! The mazes;Asylum; was very good this year, multiple scene changes and lively actors. It did seem to be lighter in the Asylum than previous years, however the actors still used the strobe lighting where possible to their ability! The maze this year felt much longer, whether it was or whether it was because I was at the front I don’t know but it was very good! I feel much improved on last year, with of course the chainsaw scene at the end! I did feel the Asylum although has the best throughput of the mazes with 12 per group, could be significantly increased if Thorpe Park decided to let you go in like they do at port aventura! This means about 20 people are allowed in but they are slightly staggered before going in! Queue time 30 minutes which was up to the back of the zig zags of the old attraction queue. (Infrequent fastrack)The curse; was ok nothing changed apart from brighter lighting at the beginning which meant some groups saw the exit signs and therefore thought that was the exit to the attraction! Not many actors in the curse this year and didn’t use the space to the best of their abilities. Queue time 30 minutes, which was half the queue, used which means each zig takes 10 minutes. (With infrequent fastrack)Se7en; once again nothing was changed apart from a few add on, enough actors but I feel the scene that the groups get lost in because you can’t find the right door, should be put at the end of the attraction because 2-3 groups all get stuck in the one room then it ruins it for everyone! Queue time 40 minutes which was a little under half the queue, so each zig zag will take about 5 minutes (medium fastrack) Saw alive; the usual however it had more actors and more stories in, throughput had been reduced because they were only letting 8 per group in to maximise the mazes potential! Queue time 20 minutes which was half of the barbed wire queue. (Infrequent fastarck)Experiment 10;One of the best horror mazes I have been in for intensity and confusion, congratulations Thorpe Park, what a maze! The queue line is situated in the arena and has blooded metal containers, with occasional bashing of the containers from inside, which causes great tension! While queuing staff offer out wristbands with experiment 10 wristbands to random people in the queue, this has a purpose but I won’t spoil the surprise! The attraction audio is fantastic with frequent tannoy announcements such as ‘experiment 10 is now in progress’ this really helps build up the tension before entering! There are also roaming doctors and disinfectant actors roaming the queue, all of which add to the atmosphere. The batching is very slow, and with fastrack will make the queue very slow! We waited 30 minutes before it opened and it still took us 20 minutes to queue and that was 3 zig zag queues! Which I can warn you is not much! That was with infrequent fastrack, so go on this first! You will not be disappointed! I was very proud of this attraction! Which uses simple but effective methods? Overall; the park was not decorated and was very disappointing however the mazes did not disappoint, the only added entertainment were roaming actors including psychotic clowns. The park was very busy and saw and stealth had 90 minute queue, luckily the mazes were not as busy, which was a big difference to last year’s fright night visit which all rides were walk on! I can see experiment 10 having 3 hours + during half term because of its slow throughput! However I would not like to see it rushed! Once again Thorpe Park oversold fastrack on multiple rides because they were selling them at the entrance! Stealth was a joke and took 90 minutes for what is a 30 minute queue normally due to the fastrack! Most of the time the loading bays was empty when ready to load because the staff member had to keep checking fastrack!

Cant you put a spoiler tab with the Experiment 10 wristband!?

I know I'm not th13teen and this may not be the same idea as what he experienced but I think what I was told by one of the staff in the queue line may tie in with it...

I knew about being separated and my mates asked one of the staff members if your completely on your own because we had spoken to several groups where people had been in the dark rooms with small groups instead of completely on their own. The lady told us you will not be separated except for one person in your group who will be 'taken' for anything up to a few minutes. This didn't turn out to be true and it may be completely different to what th13teen was talking about but maybe the wrist bands had something to do with what the staff member told us about one person being separated?

Really? We didn't have any problems at all, apart from seeing some n00bs standing up on Storm Surge on the final turn, splashing people at the squirty guns, totally ignoring the staff's desperate shouts to sit down!Theming was dire, espesh as it's an anniversary. Some barrels? Wow. I didn't even see any nooses! Music is all over the place, some rides playing normal audio (Inferno, Storm Surge) some playing FN audio. Some rides have new audio but it's NOT an improvement! Vortex apparently has Th13teen music, well whatever it is, the old theme was miles better and more atmospheric. Same goes for Samurai, ridiculous repetitive dance thing playing. It's not a funfair! Again, the old music was much better!Don't know what actual music Stealth had but at the entrance had the Asylum sirens blaring out. Speaking of recycling the Asylum audio, the queue music was playing in Canada Creek and Ranger County (apart from the day where they both played the awful new Loggers track list!). As for the other rides, no idea what they played, which says to me they can't have been that great or atmospheric as I would've noticed them. Apart from Rush, which still has the same audio ^_^ Didn't see any roaming actors but some staff had make-up on, as they get free face painting in the canteen. I suppose the only good thing was the lighting. Samurai had a nice change with green lighting instead of blue. But seeing as lights are essential, do they really count? :PLittle things like smoke machines would've really made a difference. Someone on here said Vortex had a smoke machine, well not yesterday! Would loved to have seen it as it's something I really wanted when I worked there! Sources have told us that towards the end of Fright Nights, more theming etc will be added. Right. So we now have to choose between a nice quiet park (like yesterday) with no atmosphere, or a horribly cramped park with atmosphere? Hmm. I know it's because of the FN days atm just being weekends but surely things like smoke machines can easily be removed/put back? And it doesn't explain the lack of roaming actors either! If they were there last weekend, why not the weekend just gone? However the park being quiet, we had a great rid count and spent it with lovely people ^_^ I shall post a trip report soon, which should be more positive than this post!

I went yesterday and the theming is getting less I'm going again this weekend so ill se if theres more added. I agree with Samurai starts good then it play some dance track it would sound better at the fireworks thing and Storm Surge squirty guns get you wet so why not stand up and block yourself from not getting wet. Did you go with one other person coz maybe I saw you.

Horrid atmosphere last night, caused my horrid, horrid 'travelling' guests, marks the end of Fright Night's for me I'm afraid!

I heard that incident was pretty bad from someone who was on-park yesterday. Apparently it was about 150 'travelling guests' who were escorted from the park for causing trouble; which is a very large number of unruly guests when you think about it...

Has anybody played the 'happy bloody birthday' game on the Thorpe Park Official facebook page? I would link it but I'm too scared to click back on it :(It's a decent game and a chance to win a pair of Freaky Ultimate Fast passes... A great effort from Thorpe IMO besides it scaring the **** out of me :PEDIT: It also films you if you enable your webcam and it uploads it onto a gallery so everybody else who plays can watch your reaction... Amazing effort from Thorpe ^_^
