The sights, sounds, smells and atmosphere of rides like The Dragon in Legoland's early years made a huge impression on me at a young age, and probably went a long way towards forming my fascination for parks, roller coasters and themed attractions. I can't imagine that Haunted House Monster Party would have had the same effect on me, personally. Even if the interior is brilliant, the illusion and thematic element is lost long before you enter that building.

Visited the park today, and probably a controversial opinion, but the warehouse of Monster Party isn't that bad. Yes, it's there, yes you can see it. But it's not as much of an eyesore as I'd thought it would be. And once trees have grown in, it will be less of an issue. View from Coastguard HQ From the arena. Trees will no doubt hide this in time Fairly decent shot of the main exterior, which does look good Abymsal entrance logo I'm not for one minute saying this is good. Far from it. But it's not terrible; there's certainly worse examples of sheds which stick out. There's two things I don't like though. 1) That abysmally bland entrance sign 2) The fact the park has lost a green, peaceful space AND introduced a smaller pathway in what will be a busier area. I'm looking forward to trying it though. It will be interesting seeing the blend of family and scare and how that's received in a British Legoland. Oh, also, this £1.5m refresh of the park.. Aside from The Beginning, I didn't really notice much? It's been almost a year since I visited, so maybe I didn't see what a state some areas were in before. But the park never felt that run down to me before (aside from the entrance needing a bit of TLC), and it doesn't feel any different now.

Following feedback, we're trialing a Thorpe Park Mania Discord! Please find the link here! This can be a place for members to chat, to get to know each other in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. For those who have been on the forums for a while, this is in many ways acting as a new Chat Room. A couple of housekeeping rules... -Please keep things friendly, polite and appropriate -If your Discord username is different to your forum username, please remember to introduce yourself -As Discord is separate to TPM, we can't necessarily moderate it in the same way as we do the forums. Members of the TPM team are in the chat and can keep an eye on things, but we're mostly there to chat too! If you do ever have an problems/concerns about it though, drop me or one of the team a message We can look at doing organised chat times and such in the future, but for now, we'll see how things go!

I don't see the point of having a themed facade if you're just going to have the ride building behind so blatantly on show. At least Phantom Manor tries to hide the ugly ride building with a hill and trees.

So ground has broken on the B&M invert, which is now planned to open in 2021... Images from the park Given the layout of the park and compact nature, I imagine it'll be difficult for much construction to happen when they're open. But nonetheless, going to be one the most interesting projects to follow..

Main changes have been Laser Raiders have a new design for farcade, beginning having a lot of painting done, viking river splash having trough repainted and new ride signs throughout the park. It's quite a bit
  9. Submitted, hope project goes well for you

One white elephant down, another left to go at Thorpe Junction... Am a little bit saddened it's gone since Galactica was my first ever experience of the VR platform and remember being pretty damn impressed by it at the time, but accepted by the end of last year it's time was up, especially given the headphones used in those headesets during 2017/2018 was appalling quality and volume-wise. Just as long as the theme and audio for Galactica remains, it's not a huge loss through me eyes. I see absolutely no reason why the theme should revert back to Air as some are now saying. It's still the same ride no matter how it's dressed up!

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Now if Thorpe Park can do away with their VR disaster that would be great. All the VR did to galactica in my opinion was turn it into a glorified motion simulator and slowed operations right down!! No major loss at all!!

Yeah I remember across the exit they had a decent amount of teasers for new "journeys", its a shame they didn't really deliver on that.. I'm glad its gone, VR I think just doesn't work at theme parks though Galactica wasn't quite as bad as DBGT though.. Hopefully the VR mess at Thorpe is next.. I was two years off but close enough ?

I think a Mack Big Dipper would be amazing here, I also think BPB should maybe try and pin down RMC eventually. Sure BPB has a vast history, but every ride has a life span and they can't keep all their classics operating forever.. The park also has a lack of space so to make new investments some rides might be on the chopping block, this is not a bad thing. I hope Steeplechase stays as I don't really think that they could add anything in that space due to Streak, Big One, and Icon wrapping around it, I think maybe they could get S&S in to give it new trains and maybe re-track it if possible considering S&S are now producing a similar model. I wouldn't be surprised though if we didn't see any big investments for a decade or so, the park did just build Icon after all..

Incredibly disappointing, should have kept it as an option at least. I personally thought it was a brilliant and well executed experience, by far the best VR experience I've ever done. Now we have a ride with a theme that makes no sense.
