It's not the world's first freefall drop on a coaster. A duelling coaster known as Winjas (Winjas Fear and Winjas Force I think) at Phantasialand has the element. Both tracks feature a small (smaller than Th13teen) freefall drop, after which, the track rise back up again and continues. Look it up on rcdb, etc. Also, this image shows the track layout nicely. If you want to be pedantic, you could say Th13teen is the world's first coaster to feature a freefall drop which acts as a switchback. However, when you think it about, all the SWs have featured pendantic-ness when you considering their world first-ness.EDIT: Also, just remembered, I'm not sure if this is true, but a Gerstlauer ride has a track which slowly drops in it's station area. Only something I remember hearing; again, not sure if it's true or not.

Even though it's not really a world first... Though it is an Intamin first, so you're right at it being rather reliable.
-
I shall probably get this over the summer holidays. Far too bust at the mo to be faffing about trying to learn how to use it; will stick to RCT3 in my spare time for now.
-
I rarely have discomfort on the ride. The only time when I had a bad experience from the ride was my second ride. I got the head banging and I felt a bit mashed up.Don't get me wrong, I can see where people experience discomfort, but it doesn't bother me. Lucky I guess.

I associate Red with Charmander, Blue with Squirtle and Green with Bulbasaur. So yeah, I was a bit annoyed that there was no Green version on the Game Boy!
-
But Red is my favourite colour. And Charizard is my favourite Pokemon.
-
Unless I'm mistaken, there was no increase. They simply changed the way they measured it - so when it hit 80MPH, as opposed to when it left the launch track. Not sure if I've got my facts wrong here though.

Note that it says nothing about the roller coaster porn video...

T'is okay. You didn't know about it and I was kinda a bit rude when I said about.. But yes, he gave a program easy to download for anyone who didn't have editing software.

Bit late, but I totally agree about staff looking enthusiastic. They were all having a great time, interacting with guests and were incredibly friendly. At the same time, they were very efficient and were focusing on throughput. The guy in the console on Vampire when I went on was amazing, he was encouraging all staff to get everyone in and belted up in 35 secs, then 30, etc. trying to beat the record of 24 seconds. Also, every time a train left, he would give the BEST evil laugh ever! Then again, there was one bloke outside Bubbleworks blowing bubbles with the happiest face you'd ever seen!

Pokemon Red kicks their butts though. :tehe

Yet James provided a free and easy to download editing system. I downloaded it in a minute or so, and after playing about with it for a few minutes, you get the basics and volia, you're fine. As you say, people just don't put in the effort. All of the previous Challenges have been perfectly doable - it's just members haven't bothered. It is a shame, and now that something which was relatively unique to the forum is gone, maybe members might realise how good of a thing it was to have.
-
I just see it as people having their opinions and discussing them - that's what a forum is about, isn't it? Yes, they conflict, but we're not arguing. This has just gone way over the top...

Personally, I find 6000 quiet enough, but each to their own.

One thing I do not understand is you go all the way to Chessie, then go all the way back. You've driven there, so why go all the way back (well, to TP) when you're not likely to be going there any time soon? The chances are you would have found AeRo sooner or later (even if you had to ring him hundreds of times) and probably had a good day.Although you say you're a thrill person, Chessie has thrills to - of course, not to the same level of TP, but still. Forgive me if I'm being a bit rude, but I just ca 't see where you are coming from... :S
-
I'm surprised how after 1 trip to TP and 1 to Chessie this season has made me lose interest in TP. I'm on here and there's a new post in the Stealth topic and I think 'Oh'. Yet I see a new post about 'Tomb Blaster' and I think 'Hmm, what's all this about then?' And then click on that. Afterwards, I don't really care about Stealth and then just mark it as read. Even a new post in the future topics or in the Inferno topic doesn't spark anything for me. Compare this to a week ago and it was much different.I'm slightly disappointed that Thorpe Park is now losing its flare for me and that I just seem to see it as another park like Adventure Island or Paulton's Park - one that I just think 'Oh' about and probably will only ever visit once. I just hope that it's because Chessie is more fresh in my mind than Thorpe. This is a slightly sad day in my eyes...

Congrats TP Daniel! Well done. :mellow:Very sad to hear about the Challenge closing down (however, I did find your little pun about ceasing operation funny - whether it was intentional or not ). I'm disappointed to hear it has come to this, but hopefully if it ever does pick up again, it will come back with the bang it had when it first started - and when the Photo Challenge started. Sad times

Hmm, anyone want to try this out again? If so, just post your answers to the questions above. You can do it in spoilers if you so wish, but you don't have to. Don't care if you have looked at anyone else's answers or have checked them up - more interested in seeing who is interested in doing this again. I'm thinking up of a new system of doing this, so if anyone has any ideas, post them here or PM me. :mellow:Cheers guys, Josh

Yeah, that's something I really should do. I'll do it tomorrow. Didn't end up going on Kobra again by the way; Rattlesnake called us. lol
-
Was amazing to see the condition of Vampire. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the organist moving. And there was that new paint feel all over the queue line. I think it's different; but I haven't been for a couple of years, so have no idea.
-
Oh, one thing I must say I didn't like about Kobra was the bloke's voice at the end. You get a great atmosphere with the music, and it is then ruined by the man's voice which seemed completely out of place. Apart from that, it was perfect!
-
Longest I queued for was Dragon's Fury at about 40 minutes. I saw Vampire hit 50 minutes but that was only on 2 trains (I thought it was 1 :/). Kobra was peaking at around 45 minutes, but I wouldn't be surprised if it hit an hour. Rattlesnake never went over 10 minutes (doubt it went over 5 to be honest). I never was Tomb Blaster above 15 minutes, however Dragon Falls was probably hitting 30 minutes. Bubbleworks was on about 20-30 minutes. However, for opening day - and following AP day - I'd say all of these were very good.
-
That generally is the point of roller coasters. And Stealth in particular..
-
Kobra and Wild Asia are amazing. It is hard to believe the area was once Beanoland. Everything just fits in perfectly and it is perfect for what Chessington are trying to do - create a family park.Kobra itself is a very fun ride. Slightly more uncomfortable than I expected. Back rests could be a little better, but ah well. What's worse is when your groin goes into the seat - can be a bit painful at times. Apart from that, a great ride that is on a very long cycle.Congratulations Chessington on an amazing attraction!!

Went to Cheesie today and had a great time! Was able to do next to everything. Got on Kobra twice in 30 minutes!Park was much quieter than expected; only 6000 were on park apparently. There weren't that many break downs that I saw; Rameses Revenge broke down and Kobra had a little blip. Apart from that and little bits of rain, it was an amazing day.A pic of me with a Lorikeet - sorry about the date; it's a camera setting I need to change. Today also seemed to be a day for meeting people. Met AeRo and Benin (didn't say him at first because I forgot he was on this forum) a couple of times during the day and was nice to finally be able to speak to him. Also spoke to Keith whilst he was on the Safari Skyway - and he seemed a little freaked out when I knew who he was! Was good to be able to put a couple of faces to names. Anyways, ride count:Kobra x3Tuk Tuk Turmoil x1Monkey Swingers x1Jungle Bus x1Lorikeet Lagoon x1Dragon Falls x1Peeking Heights x1Tomb Blaster x1Dragon's Fury x2Rattlesnake x6 (Front row x5)Vampire x1Bubbleworks x1Black Buccaneer x1Hocus Pocus Hall x1Sea Life Centre x1
