  1. Just out of interest James, do you vote? Or do you remain as impartial as possible? :PI also think there should be a prize. The winner of each challenge receives a Premium Annual Pass from James himself. Seriously though, isn't winning The Challenge prize enough.

    Your Thorpe Park

If you put a roller coaster on Treasure Island, it won't be near anything else - that is what I meant. With SAW and Stealth especially, there was a ride in close proximity to act as a queue eater. With a Treasure Island coaster, there wouldn't be. That's what I meant.Would you really trust Thorpe with a world's first B&M? Thorpe aren't known for being the most reliable. B&M firsts aren't the most reliable (look at Air for example). Thorpe are cursed when it comes to opening a new coaster. Look at SAW and Stealth. The first half of the season, they had quite a bit of trouble. So, honestly, I'd be more than a bit worried over a B&M first at Thorpe.

    Your Thorpe Park

Then have an extremely popular coaster, by itself, with no queue eaters nearby? In my eyes, not the best idea. Would probably be nearly as expensive as the three rides if you take everything into account. Also, a world first B&M? With Thorpe's reliability?

    Your Thorpe Park

Bah, I'm bored..2010) SAW Alive opens. Thorpe does more daring promotions that push the boundaries of what they can do. They aim to be more 'extreme'. Treasure Island coaster announced for 2012. A Splash Battle and a new flat ride announced.2011) No new rides. The space occupied by MHFS becomes a small scare house. Basically, people go in and some (albeit not great) scares happen. Just designed to fill the space and occupy guests for 5 minutes. Not much else.2012) New coaster opens, along with the Splash Battle and the flat. Don't really know what coaster; not that important for the sake of this though. Splash Battle would be a family ride. The flat would be another 1.3m flat to act as a queue eater.2013) Hotel opens, as planned. Nothing exceptional exciting happens. More work on promoting the park.2014) The scare house from 2011 (which was only intended as a semi permanent solution to fill space) is replaced. Something similar to a climbing wall, by the fact it is interactive, but something a little more interesting - if you get what I mean. Half way through the season, a new coaster is announced for 2016. Situated on one of the new islands, it is going to be bigger than the height ceiling, hence the slightly early application. They should be able to build a new coaster of they want, if what I've heard about the Stealth agreement thing is true.2015) Nothing new ride-wise. Completely new entrance. Great in-park promotion for the new roller coaster.2016) New coaster opens. Queue eater opens nearby. 2017 onwards) SAW contract runs out in 2019 and isn't extended, meaning the ride is rethemed basically and Alive closes (though, depending on the popularity of the park and the attraction at time of closure, the park may retheme it). 2019 sees X replaced as well as Slammer (or whatever they have there) for a new coaster.Note: Was a bit lazy (even though I'm bored), so attractions that would have been replaced / updated / removed I haven't mentioned, as well as all the FN stuff. More just focused on the new stuff.
  5. I think the pull factor of the ride depends on how much they go into advertising it on TV, radio, etc. Internet promotions are good and all, but it is TV and radio that tend to be the main pull factors.
  6. So I take the obvious rules for voting are 'Vote for the one you think is the Best. Do not vote for your own entry.' Any others?
  7. Everyone has their own definition of the word 'chav'. I really don't understand why there has to be an argument about it being aimed at chavs, as everyone has their own opinion on what a chav is, so having an argument about it is superfluous..I wouldn't say that the site is being aimed at chavs, but I think chavs (in my own definition of the word) would like it.
  8. I personally don't like the new website. It just doesn't look right to me. However, as much as I hate it, I'm glad to see Thorpe working on their website and trying their best. It is obviously built with the target audience in mind, which - in the end - I'm glad they've done; at least they do stick to where they aim to be.
  9. But Thorpe may charge for parking, Cheesie probably won't... Sorry, had to bring that up. :angry:I think people forgot how many offers the park run during the course of the year, as well as the Bounceback tickets on offer as well. I do feel that the prices are a bit too high, but hey, I'm not too surprised by it if I'm honest.
  10. A rant about blooming school...Basically, we've slowly been getting our Mock Results back. Being the 'smartest' of the year, I'm always seen as the one to get a higher mark than. It does get slightly annoying at times, but in the end, I don't mind it too much. Basically, most of my Mocks were pretty bad - got quite a couple of Cs and Ds in parts of the English (got a couple of Bs and As also), got Cs in Physics and Chemistry and Biology, French and RE I'd rather not think about... Really, my only good one was Geography, which I got an A* in - even though I don't really like the subject. Considering I'm predicted A*s in all my subjects, I feel my Mocks were rubbish. As if that weren't bad enough, there are quite a few people who got higher marks than me who are rubbing it in my face, adding insult to injury and so on. The fact that I'm annoyed with myself for getting bad marks is hard enough to deal with - with others rubbing it in, it is just getting rather annoying! However, I feel at time that I'm being a bit of a snobby b*d! The fact that I've got an A* as well as a couple of As, Bs and Cs and I'm disappointed in myself and even slightly depressed about it when there are others who would kill for those results. Then I feel like an idiot for making a fuss over something that some see as 'petty'. Then I just get annoyed even more and just go round in circles beating myself up! Just so blooming annoying and I don't know what to blooming think! ARGH! Just to top it all of, I have my second piece of coursework for French to do tomorrow. The annoying thing is, I've had 5 French teachers in 5 years (all of which were rather bad) so don't really know French at all! Even worse, is that my current teacher is unfamiliar to the course we are doing, so thinks we have to do our coursework in controlled, exam-like conditions - when we actually don't! It piles a bit more stress on, which is actually unnecessary! Also, she's expecting us to do the coursework twice (one draft, one final) in 50 minutes, when it should actually take 2 hours! How that is even possible I will never know...Add this onto a Biology Unit 2 resit, which I've yet had a chance to revise, on Thursday and a French Unit 1 (Speaking) resit next Wednesday - which I've yet to receive any help for - along with everything else I've mentioned, I'm just about at breaking point!!
  11. Hello, welcome to TPM. :)

  12. They have succeeded..That is all.
  13. I do not feel unsafe at the park, but I still feel that the chav count is rather high. I do agree that the atmosphere at the park isn't the best. Due to the park not focusing on themed areas, it feels more like being in one generic place with machines. You go to one place - rides. Another place - rides. Another place - rides. So on and on... Anyway, on the whole thing about APs, I'll be sticking to a Standard AP. Just got my one for £75 online, in the end, that's a bargain price. I'm too bothered about all the other things: don't go to Merlin attractions abroad, tend to bring my own drinks when going to the park, and I'll just have to cope with a £5 charge for FN. In the end, it works out better than paying an extra £125, doesn't it..
  14. Well, here's my one...Just so everyone knows, it would be an advert used for the 2011 season.Unfortunately I haven't got the software to crop round the logo, so it will have to be that image for now. If I can get on Photoshop some point this week at school (which looks unlikey as it is been taken off the system), I will finish it off. However, you get the general idea of it.
  15. Is this an updated version of the Photo Challenge then? Are we saying bye bye to that? Also, a question for this Challenge. Are we allowed to add photos to that photo for our advert? Or are we only allowed to edit that photo?
  16. I'm bored, so will give regenerating the quiz a go. Not that I don't think your quiz and the layout of it was bad or anything, I will probably change the way it is done slightly. So, anyone up for the quiz?
  17. Which photo won? Or was it a collection of both?
  18. 80p was the AP price, their original price was £1.
  19. Hopefully the 'new ride effect' will take place, and the crowds will flock to Wild Asia (well, Kobra especially) leaving Vampire and nearby rides with walk on queues. Maybe even Dragon's Fury for a short while with any luck..
  20. Isn't the reason for the repaint something to do with it being unsightly in its current location? That's also why the Towers are planning to relocate it soon? Unless, of course, I have just heard a bunch of rubbish...
  21. I fully agree with you. The themes of Sonic, SAW, Ribena Rumba Rapids (Thorpe), Beanoland (Cheesie) and so forth will never match up to those like Nemesis, Oblivion and so forth. However, if it is going to happen, which is looking more likely, then you do have to consider what would be better - sponsorship or collaboration? I'd say the a collaboration would be better..
  22. As I've said before, it might not be a sponsorship. It might be a collaboration. They are two different things with different results.
  23. All of this indoor section stuff is starting to get on my nerves if I'm honest. The plans do not show an indoor section on Kobra. I know plans can and do change, however, someone would have found out and said. Also, why have an indoor section on a Disk-o coaster!? It would not work very well. It would have to be incredibly well themed, positioned in the perfect place and make perfect sense to be there. It is a long shot that it would work - so why risk it? Moreover, it would feel better without an indoor section. Though I've never ridden a Disk-o of any kind, from the looks of it, I'd assume that going through an enclosed area would just ruin the 'feel' of the ride. In the end, the best chance of an indoor section would be in the loading area, and I just can't see it happening to be honest. Please don't think I'm saying don't discuss the rumour about an indoor section. I'm not. But I can't see it as a possibility. I doubt it will happen; that's my opinion anyway.
  24. I can't remember what I was wearing. But the colour looks about right, as do the sleeves. It might be because I see everything else as being right that I'm just thinking the clothes are a match.
