Coaster

I was looking at Rattlesnake during African Adventures, it looks knackered! How long will it be before they start removing the theming on that (like the tunnels)?

Bit of a strange decision in my opinion.

Why do they insist on making the track for these things bright red? Because that's basically a steel track using the wooden slats for support.

A preshow? Urgh, can't stand them! Especially not Merlin ones, as they are never done well. It makes Zufari un-reridable, plus they'd be spending money on that rather than caves!

The thing is, when people behave the way they do then they don't deserve to be treated nicely. On one visit during Fright Nights 2013 I witnessed a fight, a woman being mugged, smokers in queuelines, people pushing over and jumping over the temporary queueline fencing, litter being dropped over the park, and general abuse hurled at other people. When people behave like this, they are not worthy of being treated nicely. They are ruining the day for other people, and should be kicked out of the park IMO.

I think a combination of both, they were letting in friends for £10 each etc plus it was advertised heavily.

I don't mind slightly busy, but 2011 saw 60 minute queues for the donut shacks, 3 hours for storm surge and big coaster etc, it was awful!

I'm thinking about going on Saturday afternoon (need a thrill fix ASAP, it's been far too long). 2011's AP day was dire so I stayed clear of last year's, but I'm going to give this one a go I think.

Outlaw Run actually looks quite good IMO, but the others look horrible.

Out of interest, when was the last time you went there? In the past few years it's had major overhauls on a lot of rides and across the park, it's cleaner than any other park I've been to. Agreed.

Oi! Blackpool maintain their rides to much higher standard than merlin!

Guess not, but then ride themed as ancient Egyptian Tomb with green mould up the walls and a clearly visible warehouse ceiling?

I got stuck once in the Swarm station for around half an hour, then another 10 minutes on the lift hill back in 2012 - they sent us around again though for it.

A few minutes dusting off the theming wouldn't take long...

That explains why it's so poor then...

Depends how you look at it - I don't really go to theme parks for nice views, but presentation of rides and other facilities in the park are vital IMO and some aspects of Alton Towers let it down, for instance the toilets. But yeah, I wasn't really talking about scenic views - AT wins easily for that.

BPB isn't tacky at all, it just happens to be in Blackpool (can't comment on this, haven't really been anywhere in Blackpool apart from attractions). Yes BPB used to be tacky, but it's had huge overhauls and facelifts in places and other small touches here and there, it's now the nicest looking park of the lot!

That coaster looks amazing! Something like that in BPB would be great IMO, snaking around the other coasters.

I'd really like to ride Baco, I have a reputation for enjoying coasters that most people deem horrendous so I think I'd like it.

What's it like? It's a ride I'd like to try. (So is Baco tbh)
