Coaster reacted to Inferno in Youtube Videos
Bump!
If they can do this in Chimelong, it's required on Colossus ...

The thing I'm really going to miss is Detonators theme music

Coaster got a reaction from Whiteknuckle in Park Music
Now that Thorpe are, to some extent, reverting back to a family theme (as well as thrillseekers), I think that maybe it's time to bring back the entrance music and end of the day theme.
The Noise could still play across the park in areas which would otherwise be silent, but the return of both of those themes would be fantastic for families and would cost the park nothing!

Coaster got a reaction from Kerfuffle in SAW: The Ride
Personally I hope that Saw gets some work done over closed season so that it actually rides half decently, rather than jolty and forceless (aside from a few moments).

Coaster got a reaction from FrightNights04 in SAW: The Ride
Saw's indoor queueline is one of the strongest aspects of the ride in my opinion, and I think it's a real shame that you are no longer allowed to queue there.
Regarding audio, let's hope they actually bother to fix the outside queueline speakers this year!

Coaster reacted to alexander in SAW: The Ride
The station is really good and the shotguns used to be quite decent until H&S came in and stopped people from queuing in that part of the building.

Coaster got a reaction from Luke_A in When do you think rides will go?
Without being rude, I don't think that any of those are realistic.
Theme park rides can, if looked after properly, last for years (much longer than what you have predicted).

Coaster reacted to TPJames in Dragon Falls
Are we really in for a worse season than last year? I was hoping for an amazing season with a great performance from Chessington but it just looks like it's going to be the same, poor quality experience as previous years.. What Next? Bubbleworks closed the whole season? Scorpion Valley not opening till 2015? Who knows, I just want them to buckle up and realise that the people that come to their park come for a good experience and people will not be returning if the experience is poor- which it has been for a while now. I won't be surprised if Rameses revenge isn't fixed... If runaway Train isn't open... If Creaky Café isn't redone. I am ashamed of chessington, how long does it actually take to retheme ONE ride!?

Coaster reacted to dragon2000 in Samurai
Fingers crossed 2014 is the season that Samurai can make it through an entire season at Thorpe:
1. Working
2. On a decent setting all the time...

I have now lost all faith in Chessington.

Not amused!

Coaster got a reaction from Olistjj in 2014 Season
Thorpe Park Resort does not sound right at all, it really doesn't suit the name or park at all.
What a silly move!

Coaster got a reaction from FrightNights04 in Angry Birds Land
May opening is confirmed then: http://www.thorpepark.com/angrybirdsland/
I hope this doesn't mean that Detonator is closed until May!

Coaster got a reaction from Mer in Angry Birds Land
Angry birds... Meh
Sounds like they are going to ruin Detonator.
Still, good to see them investing for families.

Coaster reacted to Matt 236 in CBeebies Land
Must admit, CBeebies land to me is just completely dull and boring. The experiences announced so far sound bland and only interesting to anyone up to 8 years at a push.
The only addition confirmed so far I have some interest in is the In The Night Garden to see what can be done with the models and landscaping, but the rest I can't be bothered with.
My expectations for this themed area, are currently rather low.

Coaster reacted to Inferno in 2014 Season
Thorpe have confirmed that an Annual Pass day will happen before the start of the season.

Coaster reacted to ste193 in Funfair Rides
Dark rides such as these really need to start making a big comeback in the UK theme park industry, when done right they can be exceptional thrilling fun

Coaster got a reaction from coastercameron98 in Funfair Rides
I really enjoy ghost trains that are done well (BPB's one, Terror Castle at Brean etc) but funfair ones with virtually nothing in them leave a sour taste in my mouth.
Overall I'm a big fan of them though!

2014
Brand new, state of the art park entrance and ticket kiosks with entrance music back. Colossus and Nemesis Inferno to receive a repaint, and general touch ups in the area. Loggers tunnel back! Canada Creek Railway and Time Voyagers back in operation Huge refurbishment for Rumba Rapids, with a new name and theme. Throughput of all coasters increased (always run flat out when busy etc.) 2015
New woodie opens at the park. Either GCI or Intamin. A few general touch ups around the park. 2016
New dark ride to replace Time Voyagers (something similar to Terror Castle at Brean, on a bigger scale) Fright Nights event refurbished, with brand new terrifying mazes and the return of The Asylum. X gets a fully refurbished queueline, keeping the new additions but improving upon them etc. 2017
Vortex and Samurai taken out, and new models put in (same ride type). The each transformed into a large waterpark (Depth Charge stays). All effects in the park kept working all year round. -
Coaster reacted to stretchy in CBeebies Land
I was on park today, Yes I know it wasn't open, today was the last day of the Christmas opening. So Construction - whats new?
CEEBEEBEE's land
All photos taken from within the park from the path that goes down the side of the lake by battle galleons.
The roof looks finished with bright colored bars now adorning the purple tiles.
Lots of scaffolding up around Squirrel Nutties.
New railings now bound the lawn in front of the towers. They look fine apart from the footers are not at ground level which just looks naff. I hope they add some soil at least.
New railings around the moat of the Towers
Twirling Toadstools
Seem to have gone
Yup I'm sure there used to be more to this ride..
Ahr - That makes sense, the last bits of it are being thrown away in this bin. Shame, I liked this ride.
Fallen down trees
On the side of the lawns by the gardens we have had 2 trees that have come down. Not sure if it was recent but they were still clearing it.
Their collapse seems to have done some damage to the walls too
Close up

Coaster reacted to TPJames in Slammer
Stealth dispatches every 1-2mins with a car of 20pph and has a throughput of 1000pph. The mondial turbine does have the same capacity but the throughput is much lower as it takes longer to load/unload and the cycles would have to be longer as I'm sure a 20 second ride on a turbine would not be very enjoyable at thorpe and would be way too short after a very long queue. Considering samurai only takes 500pph(if that) with 30 seats I am almost certain the turbine would not make over that. This would result in a terrible throughput like vortex which now probably only does about 300pph because of the time it takes to start up and stop etc. I can remember at sunscream when vortex had a 90 minute queue for 1 top swing and it was just awful. And the queue length was literally the same length as the samurai queue which was only 30 minutes. If I'm perfectly honest I would much see slammer stay as the ride is so unique and the throughput is much higher. I just love slammer and love to freefall on it, the ride experience is so amazing, I just can't bear to see it go #emotionally attached -
Coaster got a reaction from OldFarmerDean in Slammer
No! Slammer is unique, and I give full credit to Thorpe for keeping it running despite all it's problems.
