  1. Maybe they shouldn't be doing it in the first place, let everyone queue up for the normal ride and no one will have anything to moan about? Literally the first day of them operating backwards and it doesn't seem to be working out well, MAP people will be turning up not knowing this information and be thoroughly pissed off when they can not ride. If the maths are correct then on a normal day 2000 will be able to ride, and Thorpe are advertising this is as the reason to visit the park this year. On capacity days there there will be 2000 people leaving happy, 13000 leaving unhappy. Well done Thorpe, great way to balls up your best asset.

Clicking like is not enough. Bravo.
  3. A drop tower in a wooden boat? Hahaha. They will be at Thorpe in storage because it is near London and has room for storage, not because Thorpe are keeping them.

I had the opposite journey with Moyles to you. I had been a fan since he started on early breakfast and listened avidly for many years, until about two years ago when I just seemed to suddenly tire of him and switched off. I'd still tune in occasionally and find it amusing but kind of hard work to listen to. I really enjoy the new breakfast show. I liked Grimshaw anyway but wasn't too sure if it would work as breakfast (him not being particularly lively or slick), but he seems to get it just right. It feels natural and flows, it doesn't feel forced or fake like pretty much all the commercial station DJs do, especially on breakfast shows. Even though he is not exactly upbeat in his delivery the show seems to have an energy about it that sounds inexplicably fresh (I think they are using a cheeky little trick of slightly pitch bending the tracks up 1 or 2 %, so everything feels a bit pacey). I don't know that this is a particularly good sign though as I am not demographic for R1 and the age group Moyles was attracting was one of the big problems he had. Phil and Alice are OK but go on a bit to much for my liking. They play some excellent new music, but not enough of it with too much guff in between. Some of the night time specialist shows are so damn good, it's a shame they are tucked away in the middle of the night. B.Traits, Rob Da Bank, Benji B, Nihal and the essential mix I listen to on the iplayer every week (and so should everyone!). Such a shame they got rid of Kissy Sell Out, that was the best thing on the radio.

my phone is too old and crappy to run this it seems.
  6. If you have a spare child it is very easy and perfectly safe to find a random adult to sit next to them who is in an odd numbered group. If you sit directly behind them they're not leaving your sight. Many times I have looked after random kids for a ride having been asked on the platform by parents.
  7. Someone has melted brown Darth Vader. Yucky.
  8. ...Shambhalamadingdong... I know it's unlikely to happen, but to my mind there seem to be two clear types of wing rider; big and sweeping (W.E., Gatekeeper, Rainforest) or compact and twisty (Swarm, Xflight, Raptor), which I can only imagine offer distinctly different feelings The point is I am highly unlikely to travel across Europe specifically to ride something which in experience is largely a variation of what we have here, where as a big sweeping monster of a wing rider that I don't have to go to the US for I'd find pretty irresistible. I'm sure we'll get one eventually.
  9. I thought that was where little mix came from, but have never even heard of union j before now. Olly Murs is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine tbh. The only problem I have with these things is how insanely busy it can make the park, for that reason I'm unlikely to ever go to one unless it is someone I really wait to see. Not a fan of busy parks.
  10. TPMs sexiest female everyone. My experience of Dr's and surgeons competence is not any better. Amongst other things having kept telling my Nan her cancer symptoms were nothing until she died and leaving things behind in my wife requiring further surgery and causing unnecessary complications we are still dealing with today. I've had a bad throat for a year and three months now, I wonder what they fob me off with next time I visit. Challenging Dr's and getting second opinions is essential if you think they are wrong. Your health is too important.
  11. I love the translation, something about it makes me smile... More wing riders, yay. But I wish someone would do a Wild Eagle or Gatekeeper scale one somewhere in Europe.
  12. Although it is clearly not aimed at me I'd say that is an excellent line up for those it is for. If you take out Little Mix and UnionJ (I have no idea who they are, Xfactor is it?), I'd say they are the more credible end of teen pop music. And if this an evening thing as Astro says then I hope it is the start of something regular and varied. That is how you do a concert. If they want to aim one at an older crowd at some point I vote for Madness.
  13. Funnily enough Templo del Feugo was the very first thing I thought of when the plans were released. I don't believe for a second it will be like that though, gas = £££. I'd guess at a big ass water tank being dumped ala studio tours / earthquake, hopefully with an moving floor for the truck to bounce around on a bit. Much more realistic running cost wise.
  14. What do you mean by this? The contents of the cave?

The rather talented Nemesis94 has updates his NL recreation o show what the ride will be like according to the changes the game and supports seem to suggest. They go out of sync due to the pacing changes, so here's a comparison of the two halves... 1st half http://www.youtubedoubler.com/?video1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DYMTyJHVWdQU&start1=10&video2=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dliu91c_r9dU&start2=172&authorName=FAV 2nd half http://www.youtubedoubler.com/?video1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DYMTyJHVWdQU&start1=70&video2=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dliu91c_r9dU&start2=230&authorName=FAV Inversions aren't everything, but this keeps getting better and better for me.
  16. Yes Fred. This us driving me nuts too. I've learnt that if you just leave the first and last letter alone then it doesn't happen.
  17. Around the carousel, BBQ and banananana boat area, whatever that has been variously called through the years, I believe.
  18. I think they will link them, and link that island to stealth area too, so the whole thing links round and no island is a dead end. I hadn't realised the new island and treasure island practically are one, that could be a huge area if they use them together.
  19. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&sugexp=les%3B&gs_rn=4&gs_ri=psy-ab&pq=google+maps&cp=5&gs_id=k&xhr=t&q=thorpe+park&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&biw=1366&bih=643&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl Look at the top left of Manor Lake, it is that bit of land with a very obvious loop of CCR track in the centre with buildings around the outside. The Treasure Island area is up and left a bit behind Rumba Rapids and will be linked up with the next island for development by Swarm so could possibly come back into use.
  20. Houses back gardens literally back on to the bit of land the farm sat on, nothing noise producing or of any size can happen there. Would be ideal for part of the hotel though.
  21. I can't believe Th13teens ORP has that metal frame in the shot. How shoddy is that?
  22. What's the best way to try out your new scanner? That's right, ORP's! For this little selection Mrs pluk and I are joined by Mummy pluk and Daddy pluk. First off is Corkscrew, 14/10/2003. Mummy pluk was not impressed, I think this photo has managed to capture the exact moment her head was slung into the side of the restraint. A couple of months before that it was Chessington on 15/07/2003 and the original and best, Professor Burps Bubble Works. Long before a retard somewhere had even thought of the 'hilarity' of ducks. Then a couple of years later on 17/09/2006 to Tidal Wave in its Original Source incarnation with Mrs pluk holding her nose in anticipation. Such fun!
  23. I hope so! Years ago plans were drawn up to have a coaster with its station there, which would have snaked around the pier out to sea and back again. I'm not suggesting that is what they are doing now, but how amazing would that be? As boats keep crashing into the pier though that probably is a bit of a bad idea!
  24. I'm old (even older than you!), and I've been accepted just fine. Come along, I've never had a problem with anyone on a meet, even after some full on slanging matches on here! There's nothing wrong with your views, just the way they have come across at times, which happens in when communication is text only. That sort of confusion won't happen in real life.
