European First, haha. Merlin, you are pathetic! Nothing can't just be unique, interesting, one-of-a-kind or imaginative. It HAS to be a "first". I'm fed up and sick of it being mentioned on every single project Merlin does. For crying out loud it's just a bridge that won't have anything on it 90% of the time.

On a positive note, the tiger themed logo is actually quite good.

Have you considered from a Marketing perspective, maybe the Worlds first is what's needed to get an article within the Daily Mail, and to build up some excitement around the attraction. If I had a zoo with a USP I would want to shout about it and I am really looking forward to the expansion!

thought you thought it was fab?

I'm genuinely curious about this one, wanna hear why either opinion

I believe Baron C was making a pun about not yet riding the ride rather than disliking it. I'm sure we will get his full review at some point.

A rumour has been going around that Thorpe management are already discussing fright nights for this season (which I suppose is a positive), but they voted on having 3 well themed, long, detailed, and well thought out attractions or to have 8 quick mazes which they don't really put as much effort into.

I think it would be a no brainier for a lot of us on these forums but Thorpe obviously care more about quantity more than quality. I wasn't meant to share this with any of you (I know 2 people high up in Thorpe management) but I thought if I get banned from the park for a year then it's not too big of a loss, better you lot knowing and me being banned than the other way around.

Why would this be a rumour? Thorpe doesn;t take  a day to plan fright nights. It takes them the whole year as a team to plan. Sometimes for some attractions I'm sure it takes longer.

A Merlin version of Professor Burp's would be the biggest tragedy known to man, they would go to town with brandifying it and sucking out its soul, we already had the 2p budget Prof Burp 'tribute' and that was quite enough!

(not the actor's effort, he was great, didn't really have a clue about the ride but did so well with what he'd been given! the park's attitude I'm on about)

Merlin wouldn't (and don't) understand the ride's appeal, because it was about colour and energy rather than IPs or abandoned warehouse "serious and edgy" themes.

Why complain? At least they gave the ride a goodbye!

  5. I think they should redevelop that area into a large indoor ball room jungle gym type attraction themed to the jungle. Remove the actors, one-time cost and something to keep the children entertained. That's so long as it's themed well.

I'm lost for words as to how as supposed "professional," family-oriented attraction thinks it's okay to post such things on social media.

At the end of the day any publicity is good publicity and they knew going into this that they would cause offence.

I think some of the new mazes have been quite good, and at times better IMO than the park's older mazes,

Big Top (2016), Studio 13, Cabin (2013-2014), where all brilliant and good new additions.

I think the park's problem as of now is some of the maze's are beyond stale now, and it seems some mazes are very short of actors.

I also think the operations at Fright Nights recently have been quite poor, and the mazes are getting clustered with large groups..

Did you prefer Studio 13 over Asylum though.

The demand for fright night at the moment is too large resulting in groups having to be pushed through the mazes to prevent 3 hour long queues.

I wonder if Thorpe would ever take a Universal conga line style to the mazes and focused on theming to keep the guests entertained in larger groups.

Also lets have a throwback to my all-time favourite maze .....the passing.

  8. I take it Derren's just too busy with his upcoming projects to be in the trailer for the new version. Maybe there getting rid of the tube section in the middle, maybe the gas will be changed to fields full of happy bunnies and the sun from the Teletubbies,,,,,, I guess we will just have to wait and see. It does seem as a bit of a cop out though that this is the "new" attraction, does that mean that last year was the soft opening?
