Wow! That happened rather quickly!

So 2016 looks to be a good year, 2017 to be an even better one for the park having two massive new rides in addition to a massive new water park too.

Vsitor numbers I've heard this year have been their highest yet at both here & the Hollywood park which is definitely a good thing.

However the park will definitely be rather bleak between now and may/June having Hulk closed, Disaster closed plus twister going very soon too, amongst other possible closures too.

Kidzone is next. Everything back of E.T (Fivels play area, Woody, Barney and Curious George) will close some point next year for NintendoLand in 2018 apparently. Potter expansion 3 also has to be considered which will no doubt go in the fear factor live area. And the rumoured avengers ride in MSHI replacing doctor doom and the lead up to that.

So the video of Jimmy Fallon announcing a Race through New York. 3/4/5/6/7/8D ride maybe (watch the video) with smoke and water and scents or something. New York itself should get a bit of loving too :)

Comcast announced their 3rd quarterly financial results this week. And to no surprise attendance at the parks is up with their strongest summer attendance ever (not bad with no new rides in Orlando this year and only F&F in Hollywood), so Comcast will be very happy with that. Next year will only get stronger with Potter in Hollywood and Kong is Florida giving Islands a boost after it has stagnated a bit again. Then after that Stuidos gets the love and a new water park. So attendance will only continue to rise.

But more what Comcast care about, the money. In this quarter, revenue is up 14% from last year to $896 million across the American parks (Comcast doesn't own Singapore and has only recently bought shares in Japan). Operating cash flow is also up 14% to $458 million. Across the first 3 quarters in total though, revenue is up 23% from last year to $2.3 billion with operating cash flow jumping 32% to $1.1 billion compared to the same period last year. Not too shabby.

Nintendo:

We all know its coming and all the rumours point to 2018 in Orlando. Rumours of a Test Track style ride with interactive cars that do a lot more, but something more family thrilling for a park that sort of lacks that area (especially the family/kids side). Nintendo mentioned the theme park deal in their recent strategy meeting.

A new account system that uses the cloud to save data or whatever. How does this work into the theme park deal? What if you log into your device whilst at Universal and unlock special items like a Universal car in Mario Kart or a unique Pokemon. Kind of like the magic wands adding interactivity, this could give something unique to people with Nintendo devices who visit the land. Only time will tell on this one.

What a bizarre idea for an attraction. Surely Fallon has pretty much no international appeal, and with viewing figures of about 3 million in a country the size of America quite a limited following at home. Odd.

Fallon is pretty large in America. Especially since taking over the Tonight Show which has had a weeks stint of being filmed at UOR. He also features on the Studio Tour at Hollywood on the TV screens in car, and is in the gyrosphere balls in Jurassic World.

I feel like this is the segment they're talking about when they say about racing with celebs. The whole thing could be quite surreal, entertaining and just different. Plus new technology for their flying cinema so a slight battle with Avatar flight of delayedness but obviously not on the same scale. This is essentially a filler for Universal, replacing an old filler. Fast and Furious is no doubt the same as it's just a layered up version of Supercharged in Hollywood supposedly (although I've heard it's costing 80 million dollars, find that hard to believe...).

So basically. UOR is getting 3 scales of investments in 2017, small, medium and large. Large is Volcano Bay. Small and medium is up for debate, you'd assume the medium is F&F with the small Fallon but Fallon seems to be using newer technology, a new idea entirely and to me sounds more fun and surreal whereas F&F could be quite eh. Either way, a few fillers is okay when we start getting Nintendo, Potter phase 3 and no doubt lots more!

Also. The crane by Hulk has now been dismantled leaving just the loop and launch track in place. Now the launch track was never planned on being removed so that makes sense, the loop though, guess that's staying for now, or forever. Does anyone know if the track under the path has been removed? If not, maybe it was too difficult to do and keep the crucial path open. Oh well, bit of historic Hulk to ride if it does remain.
