January 3, 20169 yr comment_225559 Wow what a mighty beast they're building there! Universal are real roaring out exciting attractions lately.
January 7, 20169 yr comment_225721 Another support has appeared. New footers being formed. (Bioreconstruct on Twitter) More green track spotted on route thanks to Screamscape. So Hulk is starting to take shape, someone rumoured about May opening for this. It's in a similar stage that Smiler was so it's possible, especially as frost won't exactly be an issue. Kong has been painted. Back just needs to be done now. Menacing New structure going up Supposed to be a food kiosk/merch stand This photo really shows the mural in full effect! Universal Creative were also touring the outside section yesterday. New description of the attraction on the website too. https://www.universalorlando.com/Rides/Islands-of-Adventure/Skull-island-reign-of-kong.aspx Enter the ruins of a primal realm and journey into the dark heart of an island filled with untold dangers. Vicious, ancient predators and unspeakable monstrosities rip into your crew and swarm from every side. Then, in an act of sheer ferocity—or monstrous bravery—King Kong charges between you and certain doom with an earthshaking fury. With each thundering roar and each chest-pounding thud, one colossal truth comes clear. This is his home, his kingdom. Only he reigns. Says best for teens and adults. Height restriction will be lower though, they're making this thing scary. Apparently they've been using HHN tactics or something for this. The facade is menacing enough though!
January 11, 20169 yr comment_225975 The construction updates of both King Kong and Hulk get me incredibly excited for June
January 13, 20169 yr comment_226070 Big green vertical goodness: I just really love taking Adam's job
January 13, 20169 yr comment_226088 It's great that other people are getting involved, means I don't have to make such long winded updates More track up. They're going to work backwards on it as the footers in the lake area have been problematic so they've basically had to start them from scratch. Don't know if they're still planning on theming them. But yes, a fair amount of track in the back half ready to be put up and it seems to be rising quickly. Track from Ohio should all be delivered by March, up by April and then testing begins. Meanwhile, Hulk will be running the trucks around on the exterior path within the next 4 weeks. Things are really in first gear for Summer now!
January 13, 20169 yr comment_226101 Any news on the possible layout change or is it all remaining the same?
January 14, 20169 yr comment_226138 With the construction that's happened on Hulk, do we now know if it is an exact replica going up layout wise?
January 14, 20169 yr comment_226151 As Ryan just said, I'm pretty sure the layout will remain the same.
January 14, 20169 yr comment_226163 I highly doubt there is going to be a layout alteration. The project is most likely just to make the Hulk a new ride again.
January 17, 20169 yr comment_226403 I expect some parts that where considered 'rough' may be re-profiled to be smother, but the layout won't change.
January 18, 20169 yr comment_226494 As Ryan just said, I'm pretty sure the layout will remain the same. Ooops! My phone decided not to show me the last couple of posts and I had the same thought as Toofpikk. Kong looks ginormous!
January 21, 20169 yr comment_226809 RCDB labels Hulk as "New for 2016"... Make of that what you will cred counters!
January 21, 20169 yr comment_226813 Lots and lots of Kong photo updates here: http://www.orlandoparksnews.com/2016/01/reign-of-kong-update-huge-entrance-arch.html
January 21, 20169 yr comment_226819 Oh man I want to go back to Orlando. And it's not even been a year yet.
January 21, 20169 yr comment_226821 Some clearer photos of the corkscrew exit being put in place. Once that's in it's up to the MCBR. Final helix. Fallon and F&F are progressing much faster now as well. Also talks of new slide pieces being stored at Wet'n'Wild so wouldn't be surprised if we see some slides going into Volcano Bay soon, especially if they have to build the slides into the volcano structure.
January 21, 20169 yr comment_226824 Oh man I want to go back to Orlando. And it's not even been a year yet. I have already planned my trip for September, I only went in October 2015!
January 24, 20169 yr comment_226985 It has most likely been all ready updated on but here is the rock structure of Kong, for Reign of Kong. Update it has but the detail
January 24, 20169 yr comment_227028 Describing that facade as stunning is an understatement. Universal is on a roll lately (not a sandwich).
