May 24, 201411 yr comment_183976 Will be checking that one out as well, would be of great use for me if true as my wife is currently with child so can't go on any of the rides so would help with me getting on others with the other little ones.
May 29, 201411 yr comment_184303 Yo I'm going to Thorpe Park AND Chessington this weekend. Which park is best to go to on Saturday and which is best to go to on Sunday? Thanks xo
May 29, 201411 yr comment_184305 I'm not too sure as I never go to chessingon really, but thorpe park should be dead on the Sunday. I know from going myself that the last day of the holidays before school it's dead. Sent from my iPhone 5S using Tapatalk
May 29, 201411 yr comment_184306 chesington on the Saturday and Thorpe on the Sunday is best from my experience but I dont think it will matter to much
May 30, 201411 yr comment_184386 Up coming Sunday Thorpe will be empty. Its the day before schools go back to which the teenagers are returning to exams. The last 3 years we have gone on this Sunday and every time its been walk on.
June 19, 201411 yr comment_185514 What will the Sundays in July be like? I'm assuming they'll all be relatively busy but any in particular to avoid?
June 19, 201411 yr comment_185543 They will be busy but not the worst days in the world. Often people who have upcoming school trips wont go so you wont have as many teenagers around as normal. Avoid the latter ones if possible.
July 15, 201411 yr comment_187093 How busy do you think it will be tomorrow? Heading to the park opening till close! Any advice from anyone please?
July 15, 201411 yr comment_187094 Schools week - rammed. Stay until the very end and you'll get on a fair few rides particularly in the last hour. Just take your time between like 1130-4 or queue for a ride cos you wont do much else during that time
July 15, 201411 yr comment_187099 You may be alright as most schools are at the end of the year and would have done trips by now. However there will still be a fair few schools going so expect anywhere from 40-90 minute queues between 11:30-4:00 and 4 onwards the queues will get shorter and shorter until about 5 when they will be basically non-existent.
July 15, 201411 yr comment_187101 We are experiencing high numbers of school visits on 16-18, 21 & 22 July. Please be aware the Resort will be busier than usual on these dates. Quote from the scroller on the website. Today was pretty bad between 11 and 4. We got 8 rides done between 9:15 and 10 and then a decent amount after 4/4:30 as the queues seriously drop as kids leave. Just hit the big rides first, do the smaller stuff over peak time then the rest of the big ones towards close. If Tidal is closed all day like it was today then Loggers will be very bust (hit 90 minutes today).
July 15, 201411 yr comment_187102 I retract my earlier statement, I was unaware it was school week. It will be the worst day you ever have at the park. Expect 80-100 minute queues between 11 and 4.
July 15, 201411 yr comment_187106 Anyone know what early Septembers are like? I visited at this time in 2008, I hadn't gone back to school but the park was almost dead. However this can't be true all the time?
July 15, 201411 yr comment_187108 I retract my earlier statement, I was unaware it was school week. It will be the worst day you ever have at the park. Expect 80-100 minute queues between 11 and 4. I said it in my post ffs!!!! . Next week is quieter, 2 weeks time it'll be dead and well worth visiting. September is rather midweek from about the 2nd week onwards, however they also go down to 1 train at thorpe cos they believe in having queues, so it may be best visiting first week of Sept.
July 15, 201411 yr comment_187111 I'm going friday... I literally am dreading it in the day aha, gonna be 28degrees and the water rides are going to have massive queues, as well as everything else... at least got summer nights to look forward to straight after
July 16, 201411 yr comment_187174 Thanks guys! Was very busy as you said.. Queue times around 90 minutes but very good staff today, queued no longer than 50 minutes for any ride despite queues being packed and some leading out of the entrances! Most ride staff were doing conpetitions to beat records of how many people they can get through in specific amounts of time! Didn't get loads of rides in but am happy to have got the best rollercoasters done! Ride count.. July 17, 201411 yr comment_187225 It will be one of the busiest days on the season, Thorpe Park have posted on there website that they're expecting a high number of schools. I recommend getting there at 9:15 if you have AP or 9:30 if you have a normal ticket as you will get a lot of rides done before the schools come at 11. Also the park should start to die down at about 4:30ish. Have fun
July 17, 201411 yr comment_187226 Busiest day of the year will most likely be tomorrow, Monday will also be horrific. You may be alright if it is going to rain.
July 18, 201411 yr comment_187266 What do you think queues will be like next Monday? The safest bet is to go a couple of days after all schools are broken up. This way most people have gone abroad straight away for their holidays. I visited a couple of days after everyone was broken up last year and no queue peaked over 60mins. I don't know if it was just a lucky day or what but it was the emptiest time of the summer, considering I visited at sunscream where queues were up to 2 and a half hours. I'm no expert on queue times, but from my experience I think the safest bet is to wait a few days until everyone is off school and abroad...
July 18, 201411 yr comment_187268 I'm going on Tuesday, but apparently it's also a school trip day according to the park's website. I can't wait
July 18, 201411 yr comment_187269 I'm going on Tuesday, but apparently it's also a school trip day according to the park's website. I can't wait The thing is, I swear all schools broke up today?
July 18, 201411 yr comment_187270 For a lot of areas yes. The Runnymede schools (and probably Surrey) don't break up till this coming Wednesday.
July 18, 201411 yr comment_187283 Sussex dont break up until wednesday either, so I'm sure there will be pleanty of school trips to make your day extra special.
July 21, 201411 yr comment_187440 Was surprised at visiting this Sunday (20th) - first time I've visited on a weekend! Was surprisingly quiet compared to what I was expecting, with queues mostly between 10 to 40 minutes. The staff commented it was a nice change compared to the previous weekdays!
